He'll never get the credit he deserves. He essentially made multi-syllable patterns a must in Hip-Hop. He set that bar that every rapper since has abided by.

Nah, oldies just wanna hate on the newbies because the newbies are trying to do their own thing that supposedly "sucks" but are succeeding with it. New generation don't care how the old generation do their thing, but the oldies hate on the newbies. Jealousy? Envy? Gatekeeping? Who knows? Haters gonna hate.
Old generation be "i feel bad for you", new generation be "i don't think about you at all".
And i say this even if i like listening to 90s to early 2000s rap, i grew up on that. But somehow, my old favorites turned into haters while i enjoyed every era of rap since then.

At about the 3 minute mark, the vocal scratching introducing Kool G Rap was done by the very talented Carmage the Executioner (beat boxer and emcee). I had the pleasure of recording that vocal session and it turned out great like a DJ was actually cutting it up! So dope!

Lotta great stuff on this track/video. I like the up-tempo, all the MC's flowin', and the Jamaican vocals is always a nice touch (Like in "Bring The Pain")-- kinda feels like it adds an element of danger.
Dope shit. Also logan Marshall green is a fuckin stellar actor. Cannot recommend his show quarry enough, one of the best seasons of tv I’ve ever seen, went way under the radar but everyone should check it out.
