Thanks, Phil! I do intend to return at some point, but unfortunately, I'm not yet sure when that will happen. (I'm currently taking a break from guitar, to deal with an arm injury I've been foolishly ignoring for years.)
Jon, Your work on the fret board is incredible. It doesn't seem there is much you can't do or accomplish. Good luck with your band or bands. Go for it, Jon. You are worth the work. Graydon Rogers
Thanks, always good to hear from you as well! :-) I'm going to try to be a lot more active here in 2015 -- hopefully I don't run out of steam again like last year! (Fortunately, there are still TONS of VGM tunes in my to-do list, including one or two old requests of yours that I -never got- _haven't yet gotten_ around to.)
Thanks! I hope you won't be disappointed to hear it's not going to be a VGM cover, but it should be pretty entertaining. Plus, I guess it wouldn't hurt to let people know what the heck I've been doing during my little hiatus. :-)
I was wondering where you out your pick when you finger pick, but I just realized you're using your fingernail to pick. I've been doing this for years and everyone looked at me like I was crazy, but I love it! Playing feels much more natural and it feels like I can play twice as fast this way. Rock on, dude.
Its a joy watch your videos, and listen your music here on TH-cam...Your style of guitarplayin is uniq, and fits to my ear, even is a space to discover...I got the same model of Yamaha(Pac 812w),that you play on this song/video,and i want to ask you wich pickup you are built in the bridge and neck position...I dont mind use original pickups that its built in this model(Seymour Duncan),but i like to hear your sugestion about changin it,cause beter is beter...Cheers
Hi free force, and thanks for your comment! I switched the stock bridge 59 out for a Diamond R15; and the neck SSL-1 out for a DiMarzio Cruiser. In addition to the added benefit of the Cruiser being hum-canceling, both of these pickups seem to have a more subdued top-end than the stock Seymour Duncans, and I found they worked better for me when using the MODERN amp setting of the THR10. (I tend to get a really "chirpy" pick attack as a result of using my fingernail instead of a guitar pick; and the smoother top-end of these pickups helps alleviate this.) However, it's worth noting that my preferences have changed since recording these videos, and I now find myself not only using the BRIT HI setting of the THR10, instead of the MODERN one; but also now wanting to swap out my pickups for some with a slightly higher bump in the upper-mids and highs.
Thanks for the answer...Its not just my curiosity, but i just want to find(like many other musicians),real "tool" for express my sound out...so i ask questions everywhere cause i cant be in touch with all eq of this world, but i already got in myself idea of how my guitar should sound on its own...
Man your videos were awesome, I hope you come back someday! I watch the Solstice and Silver Surfer videos like once a week.

@@Pheezlewhompers Oh I'm sorry to hear that, hoping the best for your recovery! And happy to hear that you're planning to come back someday!
It's my best game too ^^ ! It's a big pleasure for me to listen this music !
Ok this is completely perfect. The arrangement, the articulation, then i notice you're not using a pick. I don't know what's real anymore
also the tone
You're back! And with a song from my favorite Final Fantasy, no less!
This has to be one of my favourite covers of one of my favourite tracks!

Absolutely amazing!
Glad to see you're back with another great vgm cover. I eagerly await these lemons you speak of

Nice! Apparently all the really great guitarist have a thing with jamming in "jammies"...I now know what I must do! Great Cover man!
Thanks Don! What can I say -- it helps to be comfortable for all the meedley-mee's!
This is amazing.
Biggest CLG Fan Thanks, hope you enjoyed it!

Biggest CLG Fan Yup, and I agree! For me, playing with a pick just feels a bit too disconnected from the guitar, if that makes sense.
Pheezlewhompers It does. Makes it feel like there's a delay in every motion I make, too.
i fuckin love it!
Thanks Sheldon! :-)
epic
Pretty awesome, I'd love to see you do some more Guilty Gear tracks, Existence, Awe of She, Remake of your Holy Orders cover, I love that music.
