Wow. Well... I don't know what to say! How in the hell are you playing that?!! It's one thing to type it in but... That's pretty incredible. Had to create a Google account just to comment here. I have to say it's very flattering reading all these comments here, can't believe this stuff is still being listened to how many years down the line?! You can tell I wanted to form a rock band can't you! Then again I could never play like this!
@@BaggyCatEntertainment nice to hear. I know now you don't like chiptune music anymore, but I hope someday you will create another chiptune masterpiece. Stay safe in this tough times!
Bloody hell... I can't believe the Solstice video. Honestly, that's ridiculous! Congratulations for stopping me blinking for 3 minutes! Where were you in the 1990s when I was trying to form a decent rock band! I noticed you're playing to a sequence - did you copy that note by note or convert it somehow? I'm expecting you to say you copied it note by note for some reason...
Thanks, I can't tell you how cool it is to get feedback from the man himself! You shouldn't be surprised at how many people still listen to your tunes, though... music this good is hard to forget about! I can't lie: this tune was really hard to play and took more than a few takes. However, it pales in comparison to the Solstice title theme, which you can watch me butcher here: /watch?v=SRnovIb1mQc I'll try to get some video of my band playing Solstice live. People love the progginess! ^_^
It'd be even more amazing if Geoff Follin would also comment here. I wonder how much each contributed to this music. Anyway, please consider doing stage 2, too.
Sam Schaperow I'd be psyched if Geoff also posted here, but I'm happy enough with Tim's comments. I've always wondered what it would be like to be a fly on the wall while they were writing some of this ridiculously awesome music. Stage 2 is on my "to-do" list (along with ~100 other tunes). I seriously have to stop being lazy and find some time to crank out some more videos.
i have no idea how youtube's algorithm stuffed tim follin's comment down below the "show more" line. that should have been near the top, i'd have never known he commented here lol
Really awesome, man! Impressive job. Greetings from Brazil! Esse jogo do Surfista Prateado foi um dos jogos mais bizarros e desgraçados que eu já joguei (dificuldade num nível lendário), mas a música do Tim Follin é uma obra de arte!
you DO know that you're the best guitar player in the world, right? By being able to play this, LIKE this, you've reached maximum shredd the fuk outta my GYT-ar level of badassery... to you, and the few other people who play this on a guitar, welcome to human MASTERY
Nope, the sequencing for these two tunes was done by Steven C. King and PJ Barnes. I don't think I would've been a good choice for your band... I was 6 years old at the time, and was more interested in playing Solstice with a gamepad than a guitar! Band rehearsals would've been pretty awkward, with little me standing in the corner picking my nose. Fortunately, I grew out of that filthy habit, and no longer stand in corners. :-P Thanks again, I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! Got any requests?
Thanks! Yeah, Follin's stuff is ridiculously awesome. I'm having a hard time deciding what tune to record next... I feel like anything that directly follows this is bound to be lackluster!
Thanks! I've actually been wanting to do this song (/watch?v=YN9FQiUH9C0) with my band, Mario Speedwagon. It's a kickass tune, and I'll probably end up doing one of these videos for it within the next week or two. Keep an eye out for it! ^_^
Then, he enters the earth's atmosphere and slows to a crawling pace. He unknowingly grazes his hand against a cloud (or a bird; or a raindrop, etc.), falls off his board, and dies. Cue the closing credits. (In all seriousness, though, this song would be awesome in the scene you described.)
Dude, is it possible to get a version of JUST your guitar playing? The background music and stuff makes the song, but what youre doing with this insane track on this insanely hard enough to drive u insane game, is friggin AMAZING... so i just am wondering what it sounds like just with the one instrument... Not saying u have to do the song again (would be dope though) but if u have the guitar layed down and recorded before adding in all the crazy shit

Woah, is that you, the real Tim Follin?
Mate, your music is legendary.
Spine tingling stuff.
@@metalslayer777 Yes but that was an account I'm now locked out of - yes me. Yes I'm still alive!!

The follin music should have been the music for the Silver Surfer movie.
8 years later and this still jams
Wow. Just... wow. And here I thought "Through the Fire and Flames" was the pinnacle of speed metal... O_o
Flawless. Absolutely flawless.

Nailed it. I can't imagine my fingers moving this quickly and not making mistakes.
amazing rendition bro, you shredded that like a hunk o' old cheese that it truly is man!
This is great, all the more impressive that you were able to get outstanding note clarity on those runs without a pick.
6 years later and this still kicks major ass.

Oh, yeah. Nice.

Would you try the solstice ending theme?
Mcu: blackhole opens up near the earth with the silver surfer flying out of it at beyond light speed and this starts playing

How long did you have to practice this one? It's amazing!
Unfortunately, I've got the memory capacity of a 1986 laptop, so I can't really remember. Probably a few days.
Thanks!

Your videos are insane man. Good Job!
Jaunzim M.V. Sorry, I don't have tabs for this. I slowed it down in Presonus Studio One and learned it by ear.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
