Hank Jr lived several years on smith lake here in Cullman Alabama. My hometown. He wasn’t liked real well. He was drugging pretty much back then. Cleaned up his act finally
Think about what Hank Williams has been through from basically being forced to his dad's music to literally falling off of a mountain and completely crushing his face and having to go through major reconstruction surgery on his face while is when he wears the dark sunglasses and the reason he grew the beard is to hide the scars
If you want another OG, try Johnny Cash. Boy Named Sue is a good one to start with. There is also the true OG, Marty Robbins, "El Paso " was the first C&W Grammy winner.

Hank Jr.'s daddy was Hank Williams who was a big part of the birth of country music (he passed at age 29). The people at the time sang folk, mountain and early blues\gospel music. Country was born from these early styles and Rock 'n Roll from blues\gospel and that 'Hillbilly' music. That is why they crossover with each other so much. Hank Jr. is a blend of music styles.

Do you guys have a list of the Bourbon's you've checked out already? And do you guys know of any that would be particularly good for food.
We do keep track of the ones we’ve already done, and as for the second part, that depends on the food.
@@BourbonCountryReacts Shnazzy, I would tend to use it to soak raisins or preserves, desserts mostly and every once in awhile to marinade or make a sauce for meat.
@@taerdrop I typically cook with Elijah Craig, but for what you’ve mentioned, I’d suggest Four Roses small batch or Woodford Reserve.
@@BourbonCountryReacts I'll give that a try, going to finish up the last of the brandy and definitely need to restock. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'd like to see a reaction to David Allan Coe, The Ride. He also has "the perfect country and western song", You Never Even Call Me By My Name. It is suggested that this is a song to Nashville music execs and regarding him not selling out.
We reacted to "She Never Even Called me by my Name" here:
