Fun Fact: After the film was critically panned and bombed at the box office, Nintendo stopped producing live-action theatrical films based on their video game franchises for a long while. A "Metroid" film was put into development, but never went past pre-production. Nintendo would eventually release another adaptation, Detective Pikachu (2019), to improved critical and commercial success. Illumination Entertainment is going to take another stab at a 2023 Mario movie, with Chris Pratt (who we all LOVE) is voicing (yes, voicing) Mario.
Fear And Loathing Fact: During a chase scene, Bob Hoskins broke his finger when the van's door slammed on his hand. For the rest of the film, Hoskins is wearing a cast that was painted pink to look like a hand. Hoskins reportedly did not have a good time making this movie and took to drinking. He wasn't the only one. Allegedly due to drinking on set, John Leguizamo was hit by a car, breaking his leg. You can even see the cast in some shots of the movie.
Overengineering Problem Fact: The Yoshi puppet was capable of making 64 separate movements due to 200 feet of cable crammed inside its 3 foot tall structure. In all, no less than 9 puppeteers were used to operate the Yoshi puppet.

I used to watch this as a kid over and over. Saw it in theaters back in 93. Great reaction. 👌🏽👍🏽

That movie was such a despicable outrage. It's a reminder that the businessmen who make movies by and large don't even like movies, let alone the things that movies are based on (books, TV shows, games, etc.).

I remember watching this on TV once, I fell asleep while it was still playing and I woke up again at some point around 01:00+ ... the TV was still playing, only this time it was playing some XXX movie and it was a p-star who actually (in my sleep) looked very similar to Daisy bouncing up and down on a guy, and I remember thinking "WTF is Daisy doing?!?!? When did this become a p0rn movie?!?!" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Took me a few more seconds to realise what was really going on!!! LOL
