- BPD S.W.A.T. are the highly-trained officers that are brought into high-risk situations. They use tactics to end a crime scene peacefully. This was an awesome experience. We got invited to an abandoned mall where they were doing explosive training and K-9 training. We also got to see some rubber projectiles shot. It was like being on a movie set. Pretty cool seeing our SWAT training but sad that this place has closed.
It was kind of creepy being in there. Blowing a hole through the wall at Hot Dog on a stick was cool.
Malls are going out of business across the country. SWAT on the other hand will see more business. It's a symptom of our times.
North ridge mall in Milwaukee was cool to go run milsim events for airsoft in there. The city eventually deemed it for demo so we can no longer run events there. Venues like this offer a training experience like no other.

So my dad used to be a swat commander, he was usually the doorman and carried a shotgun and 40mm. So one day they are at a drug dealer's house and they get to the kitchen where the guy, is killing himself with a knife (slitting throat). And my dad shot him with the 40mm in the shoulder area. The man dropped the knife and went down, later when they were putting him in cuffs the guy's shoulder was really swelling up... and it burst. It just straight up burst. So yah that's my story for today.
Should have let him finish the job to save society future headaches and tac dollars.

intimidation. When they show up the people believe they aren't messing around. I saw it at the BLM riots. When they pulled up, people backed off. When they pull up on your lawn with a big truck, you now know the situation has escalated. They also have snipers.
@@btuff thank you for making my point, the point of “police” is local government. Being apart of the community, military is federal. It’s also used for “occupation” which you can’t argue is one of the main issues with minority communities.

@@alex4863 a simple look at Democrat consoled areas tells the story. High crime with soft law enforcement. Defunding the police was a disaster and took the lives of a lot of people. You need a strong presence as a detomrant; Criminals will always take advantage of opportunities. Soft law enforcement is an opportunity.

If you look at the macro of gun violence, it’s actually Republicans that have higher rates of violence. This includes accidents, homicides, etc. due to low gun regulations n conservative mindset “where there’s more guns, it’s safer.” Which is completely wrong.
There’s nothing wrong with European police, have the most trust among its citizens l, and when actual stuff pops off they’re still prepared.
If you truly believe in the current system for every 100$ we spend on police, and social services get a 1$ you’re part of the problem bro.

I Think if you are unable to do some of the obstacles in the set time they want you too in the training (tryout) you dont make swat team you stay a normal officer and you have to try again next year

A lot of swat gear & equipment is hand-me-down from the military, so that could be the reasoning.

Josh mcbride the problem with this mindset is it assumes that cops are mentally brainwashed to strip away rights of citizens. While I don’t really understand cops needing multicam because most of their scenarios are close and personal so I’m not sure what they are trying to blend into lol but police forces (special teams included) are most likely broken down like most groups.
50% really want to make a difference and protect the community,
40% see it as a job and just want to do their job and go home.
9% aren’t bad people but aren’t the right type of person to handle the responsibility that the police are meant to handle
1% are egomaniac in the job for the
wrong reasons
A majority of cops I’ve dealt with have been respectful. While the most cop problems come from dangerous and often low income areas generally within major cities, even there most aren’t willing to strip citizens of their rights. If you don’t like certain things maybe you should talk to some and you’ll perhaps get an understanding you don’t get to see and they will get feedback from their district citizens.

I hate that these guys were damaging East Hills malls I love this place with all my heart I have gone here since I was a kid and my mom got her first job here since she was a kid I do not care if you're splotchy and you should not be damaging private property
The are demoing it now.
I guarantee you 100% that they had permission from the property owners to conduct this training and "damage" whatever they wanted. Especially if its going to be torn down. It's quite common for buildings to be used by law enforcement as training grounds before its torn down. We've done it many times at our department. Owners are usually more than happy to allow it.

You need experience as an officer, military or even a special agent. Then you can apply or they select you as a candidate. You can’t just simply go try out.
