- Let's go to the Sahara, nah I don't think so but with this bike it would work just fine, in fact traveling the world would be super fine. The Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Ténéré (Tenere, literally: "desert") won the Paris-Dakar rally seven times and went on to be one of Yamaha's most loved bikes of the nineties. I wonder if newer bikes with all that electronics would do much better in those conditions.
My bike came with 3 Givi Monolock Cases!
They basically don’t exist in Canada, but I managed to track one down - an 89. Nobody here has ever even seen one in person. It’s a wonderful bike. Comfy-ish, quick-ish, capable-ish…. But a beautiful thing.
I read they didnt bother importing them to northamerica, no market for those type of adv bikes over there back then
@@GurrasGarage Funny how things change! Yes, as far as I can determine there are fewer than 10 in Canada. I get stopped all the time because nobody has ever seen one in person.
I am currently restoring one of these, a 1989 model. Since I am in South America and since this is a non-US model, finding parts is very difficult. I mostly buy parts from Europe where this bike is fairly common.
I recently bought one as my first bike, it's from 1991 and it's a very comfortable bike to ride, also I can confirm it goes faster than 185 😉

Keep the stock exhaust it is great and quiet. Best tires for this bike Trail wings. I have owned my ex Xtz750 for 18 years now and I love it. Even though I also own KTM 790 adventure R. I will never sell my Yamaha because it is so reliable, so comfortable, the smoothest engine I have ever had.

It has a huge fuel tank. 26 L. This is crazy. You made a great decision to buy it. Seems to be in great conditions and it runs smoothly. Great video mate. You can go through my Series "Trip to Bosnia". :) Have fun.

my favourite motorcycle, up there with the elefants. i am kicking myself for not having bought one several years ago. with each year they are becoming increasingly rare, all require extensive restoration, parts are becoming harder to come by.
Its an awesome bike, but yep they are getting pretty rare now.

Did you consider a tiger 900 ? They share the older speed triple 900 engine and should be a real fast "offroad" dual sport bike?
I did consider the Tiger 900, found one that was looking perfect, but it was already sold, the dealer just "forgot" to take it down from his webpage, probably just a big lie to get people to visit his shop. Anyway, it didnt have luggage racks or Givi hard cages/bags, that only is a cost about 15.000Skr!

Big mistake to sell it but I had 5 bikes at the time, my garage was full 😆 Yes its in very good condition and will be a joy to ride, not very far about 80 km from home. Cheers!

Kanske nya däck men dom som sitter på är helt ok för gruskörning, handguards, duger inte dom som sitter på? Det blir både grus och asfalt, jag har döpt den till "the Mule" 😁
@@GurrasGarage jag tycker barkbusters skyddar bra när man slår dit. Märkte det när vi körde i vintras, allt höll även vid 4 "kraschar" 😅

Hur mycket bensin drar den ungefär? Jag har en FJR 1300 men skulle även vilja ha en ADV och XTZ 750 är så snygga & coola, älskar old school Dakar looken!! Men verkar som att de har hög bensinförbrukning? Hur är det med olja, hört att de kan dra lite olja också...
Jag vet inte exakt den har ju ingen bensinmätare, dom tyckte kanske inte det skulle behövas med en tank som rymmer 26 liter. Men jag gissar med hjälp av trippmätaren ca 6-7dl/mil så ja ganska törstig. Jag ska byta luftfilter och tändstift nu i dagarna, det kanske hjälper lite. Ingen oljeförbrukning att tala om på min så det kan nog variera på hur väl servad den är.
@@GurrasGarage Tack för ditt svar, ok jag har läst nån kommentar som säger som du ca 0,7/mil vilket jag tyckte lät högt, min FJR 1300 drar 0,52/mil 140hk 4-cyl. Men då är det ju insprutning förstås... Hmm... Synd att de inte gjorte XTZ 750 med insprut, den är ju snyggare än nya Tenere 700 enligt mig!

Hur känns dendär i lågfarts manövers? Jag behöver köpa något för uppkörningen men är inte jätte sugen på dessa nakenhojjar som alla kör upp med. :)
@@aabe4327 Den är nog den sämsta du kan använda vid uppkörning, den är mycket tung och hög, tyngdpunkten ligger högt pga motor och bensintank, sitthöjd är 860mm om jag minns rätt, du bör vara över 180cm för att nå ner med fötterna i backen.
