Absolutely stunning! I’m a former US Navy sailor. I was in 92-98 and stationed on the USS Carl Vinson CVN-70. CVW-14 was our air-wing and VF-31 Tomcatters flying the venerable F-14D was one of two Tomcat squadrons on board. I loved the Tomcat and was a huge fan of Macross then, and still am. You have brought two of my fondest memories by making this build, my love of this squadron Tomcats, and my great memories of serving. Thank you for this build. I have this kit and will start this after my current F-4 build. You make me want to start it now haha!
This is so cool man. I know a few people who served on the aircraft carriers, and a few who flew the F-14 that I am a huge fan of. It must have been adventure for you. The F-4 is probably my 2nd favourite aircraft btw, good luck on your build.
@ScaleHangar182 I really miss seeing Tomcats flying. Seeing them in operation on the Vinson was the chance of a lifetime. The CAG bird like your interpretation here was one of the best looking Tomcats around. I'll be building the AMK 1/48 in this livery eventually. Thanks again for sharing your awesome build!
Absolutely amazing! The reason I like the Valkyrie/Veritech was that it looks a bit like the F-14 Tomcat, which the design was based on. Macross had some really interesting mecha designs for sure.
Loved the video. Lots of great tips and tricks. As a minor addition, might have been cool to see similar weathering that you used for the wing joints around leg and arm joints. I’m a huge Macross fan and especially stuff from the original series. And hope you do one of Hasegawa’s Regult kits someday to go with this VF-1
Hi. Very nice work ! I admit, however, that I do not understand the step from 13:28. with the liquid mask on which we then pass a black veil before removing it. What is it for? I'm not a model specialist, but aren't these lighter areas counter-instinctive? Thanks in advance :).
The maintnance guys on aircaft carrier decks remove all the panels a lot. The paint chips off when they do so. They respray the paint along the panels, sometimes with different shade of paint like i did when i build my F-14 tomcat in last video (I suggest watching this one) The darker grey tone is to simulate spray effect.
Hello, im a bit of a newcomer when it comes to model planes and I wanted to ask - how do you attach the canopy during painting? I recently got this kit (previously built the 1/72 Battroid version) but the canopy is a big question mark that threw me off, haha.
I want to build this one. What is the exact model is this? I have found a couple different ones and want to make sure to get the one you build. New to model building so want to learn from your vid and build along side you. Thank you.
Don't be,some of us watched japanise anime tv series, some just never had oportunity to do so or were just not interested and it's okay. Im glad you liked the build :)
old movies, old music, real works, all made without any goofy effects. as I watch just like things, that remind me of the past, I am ashamed of today's humanity, that it is getting more stupid every day. I hope one day all this crapy social media will be removed from our lives and we will be free. I don't even have to say anything about the model, it's the usual Scale Hangar quality and beauty.
Wow you are quite a stubborn, ignorant, and delusional person. You know nothing about the present and you sure as hell know even less about the past. Please do everyone a favor by keeping your high and mighty mouth shut.
Excellent, creative build, I don't understand the reason for building an aircraft that doesn't exist and if it did wouldn't fly, but the paint scheme is incredible.
*Nice assembly and paint job but... I prefer a thousand times the original colors and insignia of the MACROSS series, that US NAVY paint scheme doesn't suit that Veritech.* 🤔🤔👍🏻😎
Amazing work but I have to say the weathering and wear is off. It's great on the swing of the wing, but this is a valkyrie- the whole thing transforms and should have chip/wear damage on the part seams.
Nice work...however...I feel like modelers always go a little overboard with the weathering. Every airplane doesn't need to look like the dirtiest Tomcat just getting back from a 9 month deployment. Yes, there were some pretty ratty looking Tomcats out there but not all. The weathered appearance is largely due to 2 things. 1 - people walking around on the airplane. 2 - corrosion control techniques. #1 doesn't need a lot of explanation. #2 - The textbook purpose of corrosion control is to prevent corrosion, not cosmetic. The TP paint used on F-14s absorbs oil and grease and doesn't clean off well. Also, repainting entire aircraft or large areas of an aircraft was generally limited to the depot and prohibited at the squadron level. At the squadron level you are only allowed to spot-paint areas with chipped or damaged paint. Often the spot-painted areas don't quite match. If you had an imaginative maintenance Master Chief you could sneakily get away with "spot painting" an airplane 20% at a time over the course of several days and essentially repainting about 90% jet. Depending on the personnel and mood of the Fighter Wing (who runs corrosion inspections) a squadron may be able to get away with more (or less) cosmetic painting.
I am not sure what are you trying to say. The level of weathering presented by modeller is his interpretation and usually we are following the refferance photos. Tomcat were extremly weathered and I like them that way. Also there is huge misconception when somone say "modelers always go a little overboard", no they actually not because again most of us are following photos. I do, and i love heavy weathered stuff. aking a clean aircraft is nothing fun to me, building the weathering layers is a lot of fun and so much more to learn. Not sure if you ever been in model shows, but ratio betwen unweathered and weathered airplanes on shows is probably like 98 to 2 so no, there is not a lot of us.

@@SOLIX73 I actually have built the AMK tomcat, VF-31, have a look at my older video.
@@ScaleHangar182 I've watched it! You do really great work!! It's gonna be a reference for when i build mine
Thank you for your service
I must say. It's probably the best macross aircraft I have ever seen. Great job, my friend.
Hooray! Something a bit different...a terrific result
Thank you!
Once more, extraordinary work, my fine fellow!!
as a HUGE Robotech and Macross fan i have to say. you did an amazing job
Thank you sir.

Airbrushes are very expensive pricey. That's a very nice interesting jet VFJ 1 Valkyrie nice build nice kit. ❤😊👍🤗☺️🤩
Amazing work! Love the original touches to the VF.
Hi, thanks for the idea of using airbrush stencils for "mottling" effects. I love the nice, quiet, slow pace of your build. My respects.
Heavy weathered Valkyrie.... Love It ! 🤩🤩
That is some beautiful weathering
thank you sir!
Great build. Always amazing to watch a masterful artist at work. 😄😄
Wow! You are a true artist.
Very good works - big LIKE and Thank You !!! ❤💯❤

The paint work is exquisite
Very nice. Hope Anna is doing well, haven’t seen her in a long time.
Have a peaceful weekend.

Jesus. The level of your skill is beyond my comprehension. Amazing work.
The painting is very impressive.^^
I recommend a great work.!!!
Gorgeous work!
Yea , takes me back to the sdf-1
Love It.. That is going to be one of my future builds...Great Job...
Really cool effectes and details. 👍
Dude a Super Dimensional Fortress model??? Will you be doing one in Gerwalk and Battroid mode too
Really nice build 👏👍👍
Awesome! I do like making the VF-1. I have 10 in fighter mode alone... 🤣
So cool!!!! The weathering is absolutely amazing. However it looks like you forget to add launch bar on the front landing gear:)
Cool work and video! :)
Highest American Majesty Admin
The Valkyrie - the best you can get when mixing a F-14 and steroids😁
technically the VF-1 is much smaller than the F-14 if you put them side to side, the VF-0 is closer to the F-14 in size. ;)
Gorgeous!
amazing.......wonderful job
so impressive paint job!!!
I want to have this jet for myself VF-1J Valkyrie nice jet. Walkure Die Walkure.
God That is incredible
Would love to see a zentraedi battle pod

@@ScaleHangar182 Thank you very much for the quick response. I understand better :) (and I learned something).
Great build! I just purchased this kit and the low vis one, may I ask what are the stencils you are using for paint job? Thanks
77propeller. google it :)
this is amazing! what are the final dimensions of the model when it's completed?
Brilliant model, where did you find that kit? Hard to come by from here... awesome result
God that looks good
What're music used?
The song at 22.10 is "Blackseat Rider - Lupus Nocte".
Before wash it was almost real plane, after wash it became a cool detailed toy. Anyway fantastic work!
Just amazing!!
thank you, i can see by your name that you are a fan :D
@ScaleHangar182 I huge fan man. You inspired me to buy some hasegawa Valkiries and paint again :)
The VF-1J was Roy Fokker's model right?

note that i used aftermarket decals by DXM
i been curios were u get your 3d printed extra stuff also love ur video
Nice.
Robotech 😍
Finally. Some macross :)
Amazing job with your model kit work on the VF-1J Valkyrie looks incredible. Have I seen that jet in a Animation show? It look very formiler to me.
yes Macross aka Robotech anime
@@ScaleHangar182 yes I thought it was in that one.
I feel like I should be a little embarrassed that I don't know what this aircraft is, or what Macross is. But it is an outstanding model!
Don't be,some of us watched japanise anime tv series, some just never had oportunity to do so or were just not interested and it's okay.

Espectacular !!!!!!!!!!
Perfect 👍
Insane!
глянцевая резина на колёсах ?
awesome!!
My only quip is you should have used an F-14 Tomcat model for the stickers. That’s where the jolly Roget skull and cross bones comes from.
VF-31 was also a tomcat squadron
It's a little weird to see American decals on a Valkyrie, but still VERY COOL.
Where can I get that background setup? wow
coastal kits display bases
@@ScaleHangar182 thanks!

My second ship name sake belonged to the squadron. Not enough thumbs up for this vid.
What plane is this? It looks like something from ace combat.
Anime called "Macross"
грязи мало, надо больше грязи... стекло кабины всегда моют, а самалет не моют ... больше грязи -шире морда! )))

When did the Navy come out with that??? Lol
Hi. Novice builder here. Maybe this is a dumb question, but why the gloves?
Your body absorbs everything that got on your skin, including the chemicals we are using.
So it's always good to use gloves
Outfuckingstanding!

nice paint job, but that looks too beat up lol.

Ah yes but can it transform into a robot?

Looks like the airplane version of Pee Wee Herman’s bicycle
