That was a lot of great information Steve. I fish the San Joaquin river here in the Central Valley on my kayak, been slow lately, but hopefully it picks up soon.
I think our LM season will be slowing up very soon but the stripers have been making a good showing this year so I think we'll all have some fun this winter.
Thanks for the info brother, I’m a newbie when it comes to Bass fishing, can’t wait to try my luck out on the Delta, I’ll be launching out of Pittsburgh but I’m hoping to check out Berryessa soon as well 🤙🏽
Well now I know why I only got one yesterday.. Retrieve was too fast.. didn't even think to drag a chatter on the bottom..😢. And never even thought to toss the spinner bait....uggg. Thanks Guys!!!
I will give these tips a go this weekend , weather is dropping and water is rising from Rain. I usually throw underspin Keitech or flashy swimmer for search bait but have put away the spinnerbait and chatter . Time to bring em out
The part about getting baits back from tules is the greatest. It takes experience to know when you can slide it up the reed and when the reed might be bent across it. Great stuff. I wish you guys would describe the depth and vegetation a bit more in the delta. You said you are not fishing in more than 6-8ft int he delta in winter? Does that mean you are not trying to get those fish in the channel?
Thanks for the support Jon. Here is my 2 cents on depth. Most delta live there life in 1 to 5 feet of water when the temp is around 60 or over (summer) Colld water, less than 60, (winter) most bass live in 5 to 10 or 12 feet of water. If they go into deep water out in the channel it is for a very short time. You will know when the fish are in deeper water, they will be chasing bait and busting up the surface, you know how often that happens, not much. So I usually fish less than 10 feet of water year round. Good luck.
Steve I'm curious when you say water temperature is that on the surface a few feet under the boat where is the electronics reading the temperature from i know stupid question all jokes aside......
I don’t know Stevie Boy you must be juicing watched Giants look at my Cinco and laugh another three or four come up and mouth. The jerk bait might’ve cut one fish all day. Don’t waste your time. Boys you do decide to go out get your sniffle and snot rags ready.
Really appreciate your videos. Informative and precise. Keep up the good work and thanks!

Man if I fished with Alan, I’d be doing the same thing Steve 🤣
Alan is the King of the North.

Tom, my snot rag is ready to go. PS I haven't washed it from last year. It's hard as a rock. Good Luck this winter.
