I love your videos. You BOTH explain things very well, making it simple to understand. I always am happy to see the notification pop up!! Have a great thanksgiving!!
Being able to swing the camper and unhook is so underrated with this hitch. I have had people come up and ask how I have fit in certain spots due to this.
The Andersen is the 1st hitch I had. I loved it for the fact that I could hookup at an angle and on uneven ground. The grease less is nice also. I just purchased a gen y executive 5th to gooseneck. Hoping to get it hooked up and try it out soon. Hoping for a bit smoother ride over bumps.
Nice, I have actually been looking at the Gen Y. Do you happen to know if they work with short beds? Also hard to justify $ when the Andersen works great. Thanks for watching.
@@AdventureEndeavor I do believe they will work well with the short bed. I have watched a few videos even one's where they talked and did a walk through of gen y. I liked my Andersen. My only thing I did not like was that there really is no cushion at all between the camper and truck connection. That's my main reason for wanting to try the gen y and the fact that there will be no hitch to remove from the truck.
@@AdventureEndeavor my truck is a 1988 Chevrolet crew cab dually. Old school leaf suspension. So it doesn't move to much. My camper is 10,000 gvw and hitch weight is 1470 unloaded.
We love ours. My sister can easily hitch and unhitch. Since we use our RV to do dog shows we are usually parked in a parking lot and people will park right in front of you. We have a long bed so I have found myself having to hookup from the side. No problem with this hitch. I recommend to everyone.
Great video of the Andersen hitch... I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 bed. Will I have any issues if I install the Andersen hitch to my 5th wheel?
What do you feel about the "fixed" tow point has an 8" offset (you mentioned 4 on the hitch, 4 on the king pin adapter. With this hitch the weight during towing is not being put over the axle where the truck's gooseneck ball is. The whole reason for slider hitches is it allows you to offset the load and save your window during low speed manuvering, but the sliders move the hitch back to the proper load placement during normal trailering. No concerns that the Andersen is fixed at this non-optimal load balance point?
Nope not at all, you are 100% right though. I think this towed just as well of better than our B&W. I think it's hard to notice the 8". Especially with a heavy diesel motor up front. Thanks for watching.
Another great video. I should have gotten the Anderson instead of the Curt A20. Great hitch but it weighs a ton. The Ram puck system is way too big. Maybe next time I’ll think Anderson.
@@AdventureEndeavor Same here with the clearance, I have a short bed too. I got a pin box that can lock in at the truck side and rotate on the trailer side. That gives me about 22" of moving the pivot point back.
Great video! But I'd be curious to know what your payload is on that Ram 2500! I'm guessing you're over your payload with that toy hauler! Safe travels!
I have a 2020 ram 2500 and my truck bed bottom sits at approx 41" from the ground, truck rail height is about 60", bed is about 19" deep to the floor. How tall is your Ram? Just trying to see if the hitch you have would work for my Ram as well.
Hey Charles just measured, the TOP of our bed rail is 60 inches and we have a 1 inch lift on our truck. That was measuring on a level blacktop parking lot. We listed the hitch below, if you buy from us it does help us out, thanks for watching hopefully this was helpful.
Question ! I have an Anderson hitch and I still have chucking issues . I also added air bags and still have chucking issues . Also the ball has lots of play and makes quite a bit of noise.....any suggestions ?
I have the companion now and had been thinking about getting the Andersen, I have a short bed as well......I shouldn't have watched this video lol, you were too convincing .
I had this hitch and it's very dangerous. Mine failed at a hard stop at 40 mph. Lucky no one was hurt. This hitch IS NOT SAE Certified. I had a 2016 pinnacle at only 16000 pound gvw. They say its rated higher but it's not. I have pictures of the failure. Email me at rjmeade@verizon.net and I'll share them.
Thanks for the input, everything in life has pros and cons. We basically laid them all out. We still use the hitch and it's pretty good overall. Thanks for watching.
awesome vid. liked and subbed!
Thank you! This is an oldie, checkout our newer stuff!👊👍
Great job!
Thanks Ken, this hitch was great for us!
We love the Anderson Hitch for many of the reasons you have called out. It is very easy & we have confidence using it.
Yeah it's been a good hitch! There are a few minor issues but overall it's great. Solved our short bed issue that was key. Thanks for watching Jim!👍

Thank you Lori! Really glad it's easy to understand that what we are going for!
Being able to swing the camper and unhook is so underrated with this hitch. I have had people come up and ask how I have fit in certain spots due to this.
We totally agree! This hitch is great for so many reasons and that is a big one!

Gotcha, we get VERY little chucking if any. I think our air bags really help a lot also.

Copy that, I bet the Gen Y would help.

Yeah our thoughts exactly, hooking up sideways and un level is super easy! Thanks for watching!
You sure did flip flop from your previous video. I’m glad you did another video. Thanks
Just like anything in life, pros and cons. Hopefully people found both videos helpful, pretty good hitch overall.
@@AdventureEndeavor I’m going to get the same hitch. We are going from a bumper pull to a 5th. wheel. Thanks for the videos.
Nice, we linked it in the description. 👍
5th year full timing and( (3) 5th wheels later the Andersen is our choice as well pulling 36', 38' and 40' 5th wheels. Started with B&W Companion.
Good to hear! We use to have a B&W also, thanks for watching Jeff!
Jessie that's when you graduate from a rookie to a full-timer when the trailer hit the truck😁😲😤
Keep up the videos
Yeah! We made it! Hahaha it was a bummer but all good now, it's painful to learn and grow hahaha thank you for watching Scott.
We have the B&W companion and love it so far.
It was good 4 us also, we just needed more turning clearance with our short bed. Thanks for watching.
Great video of the Andersen hitch... I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 bed. Will I have any issues if I install the Andersen hitch to my 5th wheel?
Yes you will probably have clearance issues. The pin box will most likely hit the tailgate. You'll have to measure and use andersens website.
Good Morning. Now you have had it for a time how has it worked with the side rails on the truck bed worked. Have you hit the side rails. Jack
It's been pretty good overall, we have hit the trailer on the trucks bed rails a couple times. We were offroading quite a bit though.
Just bought one for my setup
Awesome Hector. We also have a video on our dislikes of the hitch, there are some easy fixes that can be done. Thanks for watching.
I see you haven’t flipped around the safety chains yet. It is so much nicer (I did mine after your last Andersen video). Great video as always.
No I haven't, we offroad so much I'm not sure I want the chains in the bed of the truck. I might have to just add extra hooks.

Which truck toolbox is in there with the Anderson and which Anderson model is that? They make a toolbox specific version. Is that it thx?
Hey this is their standard Andersen hitch. The tool box is from tractor supply. More info in our other video.

Awesome 🤘
Thanks for watching!
Is there another way of attaching it to the bed of truck (standard 5th wheel rails)? I do not have a goose neck ball in my bed.
Yes, Andersen makes a hitch that uses the 5th wheel rails. I believe that it's made out of steel and weighs 75lbs. Hopefully this was helpful.
Another great video. I should have gotten the Anderson instead of the Curt A20. Great hitch but it weighs a ton. The Ram puck system is way too big. Maybe next time I’ll think Anderson.
Thank you Rick we appreciate the kind words! It's nice that its light, but for us it was all about the clearance. Thanks for watching.
@@AdventureEndeavor Same here with the clearance, I have a short bed too. I got a pin box that can lock in at the truck side and rotate on the trailer side. That gives me about 22" of moving the pivot point back.
Oh nice sounds like the side winder?
@@AdventureEndeavor Yes it is. Have it on our current 5th wheel and having it put on our toy hauler we are picking up soon.
Awesome we looked that them also.
Great video! But I'd be curious to know what your payload is on that Ram 2500! I'm guessing you're over your payload with that toy hauler! Safe travels!
Thanks John! We are quite close with the payload, I know bags don't increase your payload but they help. It tows quite well.

Question ! I have an Anderson hitch and I still have chucking issues . I also added air bags and still have chucking issues .
Also the ball has lots of play and makes quite a bit of noise.....any suggestions ?
For chucking I would try different pressures that solved our issues. The ball will have play just the way it is unfortunately.
Ok Thank You: so I tried 50lbs. What you suggest ?
What type of truck and trailer? Really depends, we had a 2500 and ran 75lbs.
I have a Ram 3500 pulling a Momentum 395. ....40’ish
Yeah I would guess 60-70psi

Sorry after watching both videos regarding the Andersen Hitch,. My only comment is you're kind of a hypocrite.
