Absolutely not. The Sumerian tale only corroborate the Genisis narrative, only war corrupted by time due to copying, just like a broken telephone and DNA mutations (that was the cause for the paganism of gentiles). "Eridu was given to Nudimmud" - this is Nimrod! The Biblical story was first, only in oral tradition by Noah, the righteous man, and those archeologists were clearly biased like Darwin. The flood was not local and the Sumerian narrative clearly shows it. Nick, you can deny and question the Bible! Why did you do it? Had you not chose this path, you would still be here with us! The Sumerians and Akkadians were Shinar - Nimrod's descendants, and they twisted the true narrative by Nimrod's command, in order to make all peoples not worship God. Poor Nick, we wished you'd understand before it was too late. Very sad😿☦️🇷🇺

Funny how these so-called scholars get their facts wrong. Genesis was written by Moses, not by Hebrew scribes. The Spirit of God inspired His servant and he wrote down what he was instructed to write.
These, "scholars", claim that Hebrew scribes wrote Genesis, and that pagan myths and false gods were the inspiration for Genesis. And is it any wonder that those who don't believe and hate God and truth, would do what they can to discredit the truth and trustworthiness of God's word?

I'm late with a comment, but this is a great reading of a great text. It provides some nice insight into some of the universal aspects of human creativity. Sometimes ancient writing, evolving as an accounting tool, can give the mistaken impression that ancient people were blunt and simple, so it's nice to have examples that connect us to complexity, nuance, and emotion.

This was such a treat to listen to! Thanks for making this New Year celebration more enjoyable. I have to say the context you placed the story in really made it feel that much more alive. The way the narrative kept trying to justify the strength of a man against a woman (when Enki/Ea was talking with Anshar about defeating Tiamat) all while this was replacing Inanna's worship with Marduk in real time, it really seemed to parallel a greater message being told as society in Mesopotamia may have begun to move away from a Matriarchal to a Patriarchal society. I wonder if this was a motivator for the people reciting these stories at the time.

This story is actually fairly good at representing history. The Persian gulf flooded over years to the coast line that existed during Sumerian times. And as Tiamat is representative of salt water, it would seems to people living in that valley like Tiamat was attacking them. It makes me think that the story of Apsu getting angry and being killed is about a big river flood that happened right before the Persian gulf flood. Anyway, there is also evidence of a meteor striking in the Persian gulf region that would have stuck the salty water of the gulf(Marduk slating Tiamat). The tale of the winds and the fire, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. It would really have seemed like a battle of the gods. And if the water happened to stop rising around the same time? Well Marduk had defeated Tiamat, right?

No I don’t think you get it. Supreme beings CANNOT be killed. This is only a temporary victory and they are coming back. Especially TIAMAT. Notice when absu was killed they didn’t bother with his CORPSE. Bc he was REALY dead, likely bc he was NOT a supreme being.
But look at the ENORMOUS time Mardoch took with TIAMAT. “Don’t let her water run” he says. I theorize that to mean no matter where you put her she will eventually reconstitute and their ONLY goal was to make it take as LONNNNGG as possible. and that’s likely why the world hasn’t know a female goddess in forever except for in mythology.
It’s also likely that she’s coming back bc all the lesser gods are ALL dead bc they weren’t supreme and while they may live long and seem immortal, and THEY are really NOT. And if they are dead, they likely aren’t around to keep her BOUND, hence the coming back. Have you heard any such thing? That the real goddess has awakened and coming back? I’ve heard it in many circles now. And I think if it’s true (I don’t really know if it’s true or not), men are doomed.

This is a scientific account expressed in the language of that day. It is filled with scientific description weaving between the tangible and the abstraction of immutable laws of the heavens.
One such example is when the account stated the lower gods were making noise, which caused sleepless night and sleepless days, the possible interpretation being - The lower material elements were vibrating excessively which caused disharmony of the structures above. It was necessary to destroy the lower body in order to restore the balance needed.

'Enlil' was the warrior leader 'sent down' from the heavens who later told another of their kind, 'Mami' to create a workforce . . . us. According to surviving texts from that ere it was also 'Enlil' that failed when trying to control our population growth with plagues, famine etc and decided to wipe us all out with a massive flood yet failed again when a man ('Atrahasis') saved his family and numerous local wildlife within a floating vessel forming the basis for the story of 'Noah' within the bible.

Good video. Extremely well read. It help us to try to understand the mystery of this tale and what really mean. Although the language is unknown to us the translation of the written symbols, now called cuneiform were translated thanks to the effort of very few men like Rawlings and Smith, especially Smith for being so brave to called it: The Tale of Creation, in a way challenging the tales of the Torah and of the Bible. These two religion have taken among themselves to tell the world that these tales they have put together were the words of God. Nothing further from the truth the Cuneiform tell of Creation and all the other cuneiform tells are the originals and probably the only real tales. But today we call them Myths and insinuating that they are tales product of some imagination, when we are prepared to accept the story of the Torah as real and the word of God, when the Torah story is nothing but a copy of the original tale, but you heard in thee comments that they are two different stories. In one of this cuneiform stories is the actual description of ENKI, second God in command of the Anunnakis, creating, in conjunction with other Gods, the Humans or Earthly beings. But we cannot accept that as real too much for us. Although todays knowledge give us Earthlings the capacity to create life or close to it.
The Jews came across all these tales when they were in exile i Babylon VII S. BC

We are fortunately able to understand the language much more than most realize. We have a Rosetta Stone so to speak for the Sumerian Cuneiform language and understanding it properly and translate it as well. With contemporary Egyptian correspondances between rulers of the time. There was a cliff face in Persia with Acadian, Ancient Persian and Modern Arabic telling all the same story in cuneiform and so were able to translate the meaning from the Time of Assyria to maiden language like Arabic or Hebrew which are some Semitic derived languages long ago. So, we do have an appreciation of the Library found at Nineveh where the majority of this comes from here in this tablet’s contents.

It was written that when the Igigi (watchers) rebelled against their creators (Anunaki), they refused to mine the most sought after gold. The creators banished the Igigi (Fallen ones) and made men (Adamu-slave ) to serve them instead. At first the Anunakis created all men (male) and decided to finish them off after their gold mining is done because they would not procreate as there were no women. Enki secretly created women. When the Anunakis returned after several hundred thousand years, they found that humans have increased in population. The Anunakis then decided to teach men to live in a right way. However, the Igigi, angry with the Anunaki for banishing them, decided to corrupt mankind to thwart the Anunakis creation by taking for themselves women as wives and taught men all the arts that was forbidden by the Anunakis. And hence Giants Nephillim were born on the earth (Book of Enoch- and they taught men the cutting of the roots(DNA)) And men became corrupt in all his ways. The Anunakis decided to wipe out mankind by bringing about the floods. However, once again Enki secretly told Noah to build an ark and save themselves and mankind once again.

Anyway, I really feel the need to correct and clarify one bit of information you spoke of in the beginning. Enki, and Enlil, are actually brothers. They are not the same person. Enlil was actually extremely angry about the "abomination" that Enki was part of creating, Us, the human race. because it was wrong to play God and create an entirely new, intelligent species. We have multiple fossils of these people. The earliest were ape like creatures resembling but nowhere near modern Apes or humans. Early humans, genus Homo first appeared around 2 million years ago, in Africa.we have a lot of fossils of early Homo, these beings began to move out of Africa, spreading through Much of Asia and Europe. Their skeletons indicate that they were upright bipedal with relatively small brains. There were many kinds of early humans. We probably know the most about Neanderthals who inhabited cold Europe for hundreds of thousands of years. They hunted, controlled fire, made tools, created art, ritually buried their dead and appeared to have cared for their injured. Homo Sapiens Sapiens first appeared, again in Africa, around 600,000 years ago, long before Sumer was even dreamt of. There were no Annanaki. Human beings were not created by aliens from the planet. Nibiru. The Hubbell telescope has been exploring our galaxy for close to 34 years now, sending incredible images back to earth. As it passed through our solar system, it sent pictures of our solar system, including Neptune, no Nibiru. The ancient Mesopotamians believed the earth was a flat circle with a firmament over us in the sky, full of holes to let the rain in. They believed the sun revolved around the earth. They were not stupid people. They did what they could to explain the world around them but they were thousands of years away from scientific knowledge. I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but believing that humans were created by aliens from another planet is bizarre and totally flies in the face of the last 600 years of scientific discovery.

Humans evolved over a period of many millions of years. There’s a reason all modern humans, except for sub Saharan Africans have Neanderthal DNS. the appearance of Homo Sapiens on this planet predates the Sumerians by a few million years.

As I am listening to this, I am struck by how often phrases are repeated. This makes for odd reading and sounds strange to be read aloud but makes perfect sense as the chorus of a song. I wonder if these epic "poems" were actually meant to be sung instead of slowly read aloud. We know what some of their musical instruments were like. I would like it if somebody set these words to music made by traditional Sumerian instruments. Or maybe even an acapella singing of the poem. That would be neat.

Surely this was originally about Enlil or possibly Ninurta, considering frequent use of storm-god powers and also the bow. Also, Enlil is chief god in earlier traditions I think, so Marduk would have directly taken over that spot in the narrative when it became Babylonian, presumably.

Anu was the chief of the gods, enlil and enki are the sons of Anu, Enki is Satan of the Bible and Enlil is God, but the story is backwards, Enki wanted to enlighten mankind but Enlil wanted mankind dead, its funny how the roles were reversed by the pedophile elites and catholic churches. Enki is the father of mankind and was bound under the earth for giving mankind intellect and then telling us of the plans to flood earth, Enlil is the true Evil of this story

It seems to me that previous era civilizations understood Earth's electro-magnetic field, natural lay lines and the use of aquifiers to capture and amplify all the energy they'd ever need. They understood the use of vibration/frequency to manipulate stone, to heal themselves at a cellular level. In China and again in Egypt (the Osirion) there are water purification plants. What seems to be underground bunkers cut into solid rock, tunnels connecting many sites etc. They had great knowledge and applied it in a simple, natural and sustainable way.

This video is simply extraordinary! Whilst I simply adore the entire, sometimes difficult to interpret, Babylonian version, I wish archeologists would locate the Sumerian Original, without Marduk. Although I suspect that most of it is likely to have followed its parent narrative, I shall always wonder what it must have been like... Thank you so much for this splendid upload!
    BRAVO!
Incidentally, has anyone ever found the Assyrian version, whereby their supreme god Assur (or Ashur) takes the center stage? Because I (dare to) consider myself an "amateur, albeit sincere Assyriology student," I might perhaps give "an arm and a leg" to hear it!!! Actually, whenever discussing my beloved, exceedingly brutal, Assyrians, I should refrain from suggesting that I would be willing to give any body part to get hold of something that used to belong to them... Indeed, I have no doubt that they would take my offer literally, and therefore demand that I forsake them, so that they could be placed within the temple of one of their several ziggurats dedicated to Assur and Ishtar...

Like its totally impossible aliens created us, Im not claiming this is the case. When it comes to creation I simply keep open all options open since we simply dont know. Also God or The Gods by definition are "alien".
The problem I have with channels lilke these; is that they are pretty selective which sources they ead (often only late English translations and which often fits their religion). Not to mention most of them never ever visited any of the ancient locations themselfs. And although I agree documentary stations are pulp, I approach these kind of channels with the same caution. Just reading some (online) English translations doesnt equal really studying something.
Its also hillarious you think the world would be a better place if more people thought like you. The fact you only have "ridicule" in your toolbox says quite a lot about you, also ridiculing people isnt going to bring you that better world.
