I have driven American luxury cars for many years. I recently traded in my Cadillac XTS for this car. I am absolutely blown away by the superiority of this car! Best luxury car I have ever driven. I love my RX!
This RX has the downsized screen... a 12.3 inch screen is available.
I think the infotainment system is the base one. I think there's an upgrade to a 12 inch system available
Thanks for the Video clip! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Parlandealey Vanish Ringworm Process (google it)? It is a good one of a kind guide for revealing how to repair your vehicle minus the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.
Probably worth adding to the review that the cursor sensitivity can be changed in the settings to stop the "slipping" you mentioned. Also, the car is base spec. The higher spec vehicles get a massive 12" screen with pinpoint sharpness. Another thing to add which I found particularly interesting is that the heated/cooled seats can be set to AUTO where they regulate the seat to the temperature in the cabin!

That RX you are reviewing didn't get the large screen option which is 12.3-inch screen. You should have mentioned that. It's one of the best screens in all cars.

+Vehicle Virgins I don't think the RX competes with the X3 or Q5, that's what the NX is for. The RX is more comparable to the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 (although the RX might be a little less expensive).
The NX actually competes against the Maccan, Q3, evoque and GLA.

i like the interior simple and this car has it. not clustered with buttons or touch screen. this car is perfect. Hopefully I'll manage to buy one. Hopefully :') great POV drive. please show the trunk/boot too. since some of the possible future buyers want to know how much space they get

If not that's a deal breaker. I also need paddle shifters and enough power to impale my motor mounts and make the car rear's rear slam into the ground as I do burnouts at 30-40 with the dash cluster screaming ESC Active at me.

I prefer the 2010-2012 rx350 the RX just looks better sans spindle grill, and I love the placement of the controls and I really love how the infotainment screen is tied into the binnacle in the 4th generation RX. The best part about the pre 2010 rx350/rx330 is it's lighter weight and slightly firmer ride which gives it a sportier personality but, still the 4th gen RX is my personal favorite generation RX out of all 5 generations of RX. The Spindle grill just looks dead on amazing on the RC, IS, GS, and ES though but, it just doesn't look right on their SUVs.
It's funny how all the UK reviews for Infiniti/Lexus are pretty negative, whereas for Audi/BMW/Merc they're very positive, and in the US it's basically vice versa
if I'm honest, I believe Europeans have different taste for cars. they look at different aspects of cars, which I also believe to be more important. if you look at the lexus, compared to the Audi q5, which is near the end of its generation, you will easily see how the q5 lived up through time and can still outperform the lexus in many cases. In all respect, I think the lexus doesn't look as attractive and well thought out as the Audi that has a 8-9 years old design and we all know that people buy for looks.
Because Europeans are boring compared to Americans. Europeans want monotone designs that blend it and aren't to different. Boring people, americans are more fun and less afraid to be different. It because of the individuality that america has.
And no I'm not american, I'm from Europe and I'm saying this, people are sooo boring.
And I am american, Canadian actually. You say this because you are not used to see American cars, so when you see them, it's more of an event than to see a European car. In Canada, I see both equally and Europeans are much more refined, there design is original and are definitely not boring at all. Monotone design? Jaguar f-type, audi r8, Mercedes AMG gts, BMW i8, lambo avantadore, Ferrari Italia, Alfa Romeo 4c and Giulia, and the list goes on. American that aren't unoriginal? Ford GT, Corvette

I would just say that my sister got that rx 350 but the full option model and it has stuff like sport + mode that u feel it changes the ride or the back seats have huge tv's but all in all its a really good car

Part of Lexus's reliability comes from not pushing out the newest technologies to the consumer immediately, so it will inevitably be somewhat dated. The primary complaint from many new cars are the high failure rates of state-of-the-art infotainment systems. You wanna be a Guinea pig with the newest flashy gadgets? Buy a BMW. Are you content with the tried-and true and would rather just have something that works and is comfortable? Buy a Lexus.

I have one of these as my daily driver and you can get the full screen nav/infotainment as an option. Iis only on the base system that it has the small area.
How would you compare this to infiniti Qx60? Debating between these two.

What's the difference between the 2016 and 2017 models? The local Lexus dealer is offering $6000 below msrp (I assume they'll pile on the junk fees) for the 2016 and saying it's to clear up inventory.
the old engine made 275 and this makes 290 and the only difference between the two engines is the new one has direct injection which makes it less reliable.

Idk why there is ever any debate about buying a luxury suv... Just buy a Range Rover. Looks better than any, faster than any if you get the supercharged one, plenty of room, and tons of technology. Plus it actually works off-road..

Well considering Lexus is known for being the most reliable vehicle make and Land Rover is among the LEAST reliable makes, that makes the debate pretty easy. Lexus wins.
Great review! We own an '06 FWD RX350 and tbh its lifeless and boring to drive. The steering is bland and uncommunicative.

Frank Magana Well actually yes, here in Europe it is. With a length of 4,89 m and a base price around 60'000€ it is a direct competitor of all those vehicles that are mentioned above. Of course it does not compete against the Range Rover but the Range Rover Sport. I know where you want to get.

Sorry, but this vehicle is NOT QUIET. That is completely FALSE. The reason I AM NOT BUYING this vehicle is because the ENGINE/EXHAUST is LOUD AND UNREFINED That is a TOTAL DEAL BREAKER FOR ME. At times you can feel vibration even through the steering wheel.
Lexus used to be known for their hyper-quiet interiors and hyper-smooth AND QUIET engines. That is simply not the case anymore. Even the GX has gotten very loud and that is totally unacceptable in a LUXURY vehicle. As a LONG TIME Lexus owner, this company has completely gone off it's rockers, chasing a so called "younger" buyer and going nuts on what seems to be the "fad" these days among a small and stupid vocal minority of buyers, constantly using that idiotic keyword "sporty" ad nauseum *rollseyes*.
A LUXURY vehicle's primary goal is to be LUXURIOUS FIRST AND FOREMOST. And Lexus seems to have forgotten this. My 2000 LS 400 is a MILLION TIMES quieter than this so called "luxury" vehicle whose ENGINE DRONES AND DRONES away. And my brother's 2002 RX 300 is also a thousand times quieter. In his RX you can't even tell if the engine is on or off. By sharp contrast this vehicle idles loudly and when you give it gas, there is a very loud DRONE from the exhaust that makes the vehicle seem VERY UNREFINED (sounds like there is a cheap 4 cylinder engine in there rather than a V6).
And FYI, I'm not some old 70 year old geezer either. I may not be an 18 or 20 year old, but at 38 years of age I'm probably even younger than the typical demographic that buys this vehicle who is likely in their mid to late 40s. So this whole notion of "buyers want a sporty vehicle even if it ruins the ride and luxury" is just absurd.
