I just bought the Dewalt cordless orbital sander. I like variable speed, dust bag connection, the brake works great and it has good power. So far so good. I've been using Milwaukee for all my cordless, but I've also bought the Dewalt cordless oscillating tool. I like these two Dewalt tools over what Milwaukee offers. Try the Diablo netted sand pads they seem to out last the paper back.
Your reviews are great! You pick good stuff to review. I have really liked the 5” cordless Dewalt much better than I thought I would’ve, but it seems bearings are failing after 1.5 years of moderate use. Still like it.
Great review Colin, at the moment i have a cheap Erbauer cordless sander i got from Screwfix, only had it a couple of weeks and so far seems ok. The only thing i have noticed your Dewalt sander hardly kicks out any dust, where as my one does, so i guess one of the reasons of the price difference, better dust collection. Oh and now slightly regretting not get a square cordless like yours, more options to use it compared to a round one. Keep up the reviews and day to day vids Colin
Seems like a decent bit of kit , does it not rip through the primer on the arc/casing edges ? Typical no lights and one heater for decent sized house How long does a battery last ? What grade scratch you on ? Happy new year pal Dave
It does take some of the primer off the mdf but thats because of the on the setting I've got it on but once I've sprayed it coveres nicely and feels smooth. On the 6 setting your able to rub down10 frames 5 newel posts , handrail and 5 cills with a 5amh battery. If use it on level 5 you'll get a bit longer out of your battery , im using 120 grit sandpaper Happy new year to you dave , hopefully it will be better than last year.
Mite give it a go Probably use rougher scratch on the site iam on the joinery is always full of mud , yours looks nice n clean Every little helps Isolating at the moment so iam bored and looking for tips Cheers Colin
@@promo130 the orbital has a square base that makes little orbits. The random orbital also makes little orbits as it spins with its round base. Educate yourself
Hi.Just curious, how do you dust the frames?..using a blower or by brush? Thanks

Col, I'd like to see your paint recs for spraying particularly. I've had good results with Leyland QD Satin.
