I waited for someone to post this show. On a lark I gave it another search. The shows are as good as I remember. I missed it when they cancelled it then and I miss it more now. bittersweet.
I love superb acting. I watch the faces of the actors closely because some of them are so talented they can say a page of emotional dialogue in a glance, a look of pain in the eyes, etc. Ed Asner and Robert Waldren both demonstrated this ability in this show. I think it was Robert Waldren's best work in this entire series. Standing Ovation!!!
Having good acting programs like this that glamorize alcohol as a needed part of life plants the seed for more alcoholics to be created. As an RN we had recovered alcoholics speak to the class so that we could better understand the disease. Lesson: Many individuals become addicted with only ONE drink because of a possible genetic link. I listened and "heard" the message and made my choices accordingly. We all have some kind of addiction scientific studies have shown, but booze is not one of mine.
@@bjoy2779 The medical doc in the rehab I attended said he had 12 hours ON THE CLOCK of instruction in all addictions in med school. Until you've walked a mile in our shoes, you don't know much. Our brains are physiologically different. A non-alcoholic can have a drink with dinner and his brain turns that alcohol into acetic acid, which is vinegar. No harm. My brain turns that alcohol into acetaldehyde, which is poison. We also have what's called a pleasure track in our brains.. Whatever our addiction fits into that pleasure track like a dovetail joint. It fires the brain and makes us want more and more. This is not about lack of self-control. I respect the fact that you're in the medical profession, but I think you still have quite a bit to learn on this topic because med school simply doesn't teach it. Real pity. Addiction touches almost all lives in one way or another. BTW, I've been clean and sober for a little over fifteen years. Any of us in my position could write a book!
Thank you for doing this. Brings back good memories of watching tv with my momma and daddy. Thank you.
thank you for presenting this fantastic series.....
the LIons and the Packers!

Virginia Gregg, veteran of many Dragnet episodes. Great actress.
I don't remember what day of the week this show played, but it has now become my Sunday night standard for me. It brings back good childhood memories.
Monday night 9 pm in my hometown
Monday night at 10pm Eastern, its whole run.
Thank You!! Your the greatest for doing this series!!
Animal was always my favourite character. A little goofy/eccentric with both courage and humanity.

Robert Walden. He's why I watch the show.
The theme song sets the mood for the best show on tv.
rivaled by hill street blues
And Skid Row is still there. 2022.
2023
Yep, came here to say the same thing. 2023.
And not just LA. Every City has one. Worldwide problem. Hastings in Canada, for example.
28:41 I don't know what is only $0.45 (on the wall) but nothing is forty five cents now-a-days... especially in Los Angeles
When this was filmed, a McD burger was 77 cents average. I'm old enough to remember 19-cent gas and 21-cent bread.
The minister is Scoey Mitchell.
a lot of alcoholics on the show. They can't go one show without booze
