    Beautiful workmanship, the cedar gives it a warm, yet expressive treble response as evident from the picked harmonics true to it's intonation. The midrange and bass are balanced and not over powering.. Played by a master, this instrument's voicings are clear bell-like and airy tone during the tremelo passages,which indicate that your guitar building skill are par excellence.
    Congratulations for showing it to us on TH-cam.
    Carlos Montoya or Paco de Lucia would be proud to play it.

    Now THAT is traditional Spanish guitar craftmanship! No power tools, no automation,
    just handmade knowledge, skill, and meticulous attention to details. Interesting
    that the detail work is done to the top first..makes sense since the top has to vibrate freely.
    Sides look like maple. Tops on Flamencos are traditionally cypress to give it that unique clear bell like tone and projection.

    Water soluble glue is recommended for future disassembly. Also, hide glue shrinks while it dry's, therefore is perfect for tentalonies as no clamping is required. Also, applied generously, hide glue is an excellent sound conductor coupling the top to the body. Also allows "floating " the body assembly to the top with no top distortion, therefore marrying the top in its "resting position". It's all about freeing up and milking every last drop of the tonal response of the wood.

    Good question . . . Applying individual blocks (tentalonies) with hide glue allows the body assembly to be married to the top with no tension or clamping. Also, I believe that bedding the tentalonies in liberal amounts of hide glue enhances (like a conduit) energy/sound flow from the top into and through the body of the guitar more efficiently than other adhesives.

    • @MrEvitaerc
      @MrEvitaerc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations on the fine, fine job. I am currently researching guitar construction in order to try to build my first guitar, I am curious as to why you chose to glue individual blocks (tentalonies) to the top but used a prefabricated strip of blocks to the back, is it for the larger size of the individual blocks or maybe it is more difficult to manage the glueup of the strip without clamps? I’ve seen that before but do not know why.

    Its take risk in thin veneer?

    Magnificent video. I have a question about how to place the label when the guitar is fully built and what type of glue. I have to put a label on a guitar and I don't know the protocol that goes into it. One detail that I forgot is that you have to cover the label that is on or has. The two labels are from the same artisan who has since passed away. Any information Mr. Brian would be appreciated. A greeting from Spain.

    Why do classical guitars have fan bracing but (good) steel-string guitars have x-braces? I get that the x brace is stronger but I would have thought that the x-brace would give superior sound. Why don't all of those braces kill the sound or at least the volume?
