Not like tat my 180 does 25-30 k kms on one chain sprocket. It needs regular chain maintainence every 1000 or 2000 km. Now my P180 8 years old nd 100000 km on odo. Running on 4 th chain sprocket.
So in d250 want to maintain chain every 1000 km ...correct

Being a BS6 Dominar owner for the last 3 months and 4000km, here's why I chose this bike and why I'm happy with it.
I had a TVS Ntorq before, and that was a killer scooter(20k km, multiple tours), very hard to fault, but I needed to upgrade to a bike because I had outgrown my scooter, and it was starting to feel unsafe. While looking for my first bike, I had already skipped the choices of the usual "beginner" bikes because I already had some experience with an old trusty pulsar 150, and I didn't want to outgrow the bike so fast. I was looking at the usual 250cc bikes in the market, and I realised that even with most of the bikes in the class, they don't stand a chance against the Dominar when it comes to vfm factor. In most cases, I would've upgraded to a Gixxer 250 or a Pulsar 250 (which hadn't come out 3 months back) because the Duke 250 was stretching the budget a bit too much. The Dominar 250 was too heavy for the power it offered, but it was at really good price. Then I thought about it, and I realised the Dominar 400 and the Duke 250 were the same price, but Dominar had much better vfm. I couldn't even test ride the Gixxer 250 because the showroom people were like I have to book the bike and then only they'll give test ride (like wtf xD). I ended up paying the extra amount and getting the Dominar 400, and I feel it was well worth it considering what was on offer. I felt that the Duke 250 was a "scam" because the 390 is the real deal, but I didn't want to pay an extra lakh and go way over budget so I got something similar (but obviously still different) at the same price as the Duke 250.
I agree with most of the points Arun laid out in the video pertaining to the bike. It's a pretty accurate review of what one would feel like riding a Dominar. Just have to say that the front brakes are actually good, the rear brakes are pretty shallow. The weight is definitely something anyone can get used to (it's a skill), the height isn't that bad either, and it's not like one can't "cut" traffic using a Dominar, you can, but you'll just need a good amount of practice. Fuel consumption is completely dependant on who rides it. For e.g, if I shift at 3k rpm, I get possibly the best mileage that I can out of my bike (sometimes 27-30 kmpl depending on top speed) or I can get the best performance out of my bike by shifting at 6k rpm, which is when torque maxes out and it's just straight power all the way through ( but doing this, I get only 18-20 kmpl, RIP) and yes, I completely agree with the fact that the bike doesn't exactly "like" going slow (sounds like the bike is "sad" , don't know how explain it better xD) but overall for cities like Chennai, which is built with a grid system road pattern, this bike has been an absolute beast (because there's space to rip it) but it'll be really hectic in cities like Bengaluru because of that horrible radial road pattern (very hard to NOT find traffic, too many turns). Unfortunately this bike is let down most of the time due to the quality of service recieved after purchasing the bike (it's not great...) Even with its slight faults, I love this bike, too happy with the decision. :)))) (Just don't know what to name her yet 🙃 )
