    My biggest problem here is to keep the movement smaller when the speed gets higher because I probably want to play with the same volume subliminally. Still looking for a mindset to master this!

    • @ThomannsDrumBash
      @ThomannsDrumBash  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi Moritz. Maybe you have to think in 2 different sound zones :-) If all strokes should be the same volume then hi-hat with 2 hands when it gets faster or with one hand in a slower tempo. If you're looking for that accented, unacceneted sound, play faster with one hand. Hope that helps? //Simon

      @@ThomannsDrumBash Thanks! I am aware of the accented/unaccented sound, but I meant the overall volume. When I play higher speed, the strokes should get smaller and thus they lose volume. Then my brain thinks that it needs more volume and I start bashing and losing control and endurance.

      Hi Simon. Thanks. I think the following songs are great:
      - John Mayer - Why Gerogia (for a slower 8th note rhythm to learn) - John Mayer songs in general are great to practice that :-)
      - The Roots - You Got Me (feat. Erikah Badu)
      - Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (faster 8th notes) or Jam (for Bass Drum Independence)
