In the 50s n 60s the Msian govt send many teachers to England for training. The music teachers returned n introduced many folk songs from England, Scotland, Ireland. It was also a time of many Mission schools ran by Christian nuns. Msian pupils got a chance to learn abt their culture n history. That doesnt mean we knew nothing about Asian culture. In fact we were brought up quite broad-minded. I also know songs like When Irish eyes are smiling and Skye Boat song. V nice.

你看得真細心，兩處反轉了是為了讓中文語序更順。
high/low在這首歌裡有點複雜。有兩種解釋。一種是字面意思：high road 就是highway, 大道的意思，那麼low road就是小路了。第二種解釋是說，High road還是指highway，大道，但是low road是指死人回到蘇格蘭的陰間道路。我在歌中採用了第一種，字面意思。但是第二種也不是沒有可能。民歌比較老，各種說法都有。
