I agree its about change & not screening. Most screening tests cannot determine whether someone will get ill. Many people wrongly mistake screening for “prevention,” and some think that having regular screening tests can protect them from a disease. But that is not the case: screening tests usually cannot prevent diseases. Doctors also tend to be too optimistic when it comes to the benefits of screening. Please do your own research into this topic... Like you l also use natural products. Your outlook is great, a positive mind can do wonders. I'm still praying 💜
I don't think I have commented on any of your vlogs before although have been following you and John for quite a while now. Just wanted to say all the best for your appointment tomorrow. You are a true inspiration - your attitude to what is going on with your health is phenomenal and you are truly strong and optimistic in the most challenging of situations. I truly hope that things will go aw well as they can for you and of course for John xxx
You are the best! I love the way you are able to express your feelings and what is going on. Your honesty is refreshing. I liked the example of the vortex with you in the center and everything flying around you. I am like you when I am in a situation with medical stuff and just do what they tell me to do. Your recommendation of watching for changes is so spot on. That is why I do annual testing because it can show changes that I might have missed. You are a special lady with your needs and desires just where there need to be. You are strong and know that you will get thru this with flying colors. Sending hugs and prayers.
That phrase, "nothing they didn't expect to see" was exactly what they said to me before my treatment started, so I don't think it is anything to worry about.
That's my thoughts too. Because the clinical staff deal with this all of the time, they sometimes forget us patients aren't used to it, and then we worry. They also need to cover their backs and not tell you something they're not supposed to. Its all about crossing those T's and dotting the i's 😊 I'm only 4.43 into the vlog so I'll get back to it. ❤
Pleased your sense of humour is getting you thru this x at least the fact they don’t want you in and there’s no real sense of emergency they can’t be that bothered x next visit will come soon enough so no stressing hun x You will beat this and come back bigger and better x we all luvs you billions and have your back xx
Love, love, love dark humour, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. When I told my gorgeous Northern friends I had breast cancer, I said give me your worst most inappropriate comments, as it won't be as bad as some of the things myself and Adam had come out with. Humour is a good tonic. The analogy your cancer nurse came out with is exactly the term I used. You have a cancer diagnosis and then get thrust into the tornado that is appointments. Funnily enough I was having a conversation today in the changing room after swimming about how I'd rather have a mammogram any day over getting my vag out 😂😂. As I've said before you're smashing this out of the park. No point fretting as you can't change it. You've just got to ride the wave. 😘😘
Lol. I roared when you said about the boob fondling.... 😅 It's defo a strange experience! A story to share about black humour. My ex's boss had some form of cancer (it was a while ago now), and he had to have an op. Now he was a very, very, very hairy man (except on his head, bizarrely) but when he was about to go under, the last thing he heard was the guys wondering how many razors they were going to need to shave his chest!!! He said he laughed or tried to. He thought it was hilarious. Keep your pecker up. Black humour helps. 🤣
Hari OM Oooh, I am a bit behind - driving through Kathleen, then parking and hiding from Kathleen and her afterthought stuff... but catching up now. You'll have had your visit and I do hope that it all went well and "was as you expected"!!! Keeping the humour is so important. More power to you for it, Mandy. YAM xx
So sorry you have got to wait again, but things will come good. You and John are doing great, keep laughing and enjoying the things that you do. Love to you both. 🦋🦋
Feel for you Mandy. You are being so positive, Like the message that you are putting out about change and how important it is for both men and woman alike. Nobody likes to be poked and prodded, i have recently been though an exploratory procedure, having a camera put where you should never really have one. Good news, goods news it did reveal a very small tumour that was removed and treated very quickly. Embarrassing, but has to be done. As you said the doctors and nurses are doing this many times a day, its the patient that feels uncomfortable. Love you openness. Thinking of you, all my best wishes and big hugs to both of you.
Hi Mandy, couldn’t watch your video last night as I work nights, so I have just caught up with you. You have been on my mind all week, so really pleased for your update. I hope all goes well for you today, I’m sure it will. Your view on it all is brilliant, but I suppose it is the best way to be , stay positive and keep smiling you have got this. Sending you loads of love, good luck 😊
So glad you're trying to stay positive Mandy, Hopefully they'll see this and realise how by postponing by appts affects people and even though people tell you not to worry. Your brain doesn't always want to listen. Loving the dark humour, and at least you have the other ladies something to laugh about. Good luck today. You've got this x
Hey lovely lady. How good are you at keeping sane through all this. I think so many of us followers will be thinking of you for the 9th. I’m starting to think you’re keeping us going with your positive vibes. Big hugs for you and John ❤
I love your outlook it’s very encouraging and never drop the dark humour - it’s what makes life that more doable … here’s everything crossed for you appointment today (Tuesday) 🤞🏼💪🏼❤️
OMG That Votrtex reference is bang on!! When I was in treatment for BC I ordered a blue raincoat! What came a bright pink!! I was rocking the bald look, no eyebrows etc but having ro wear that pink raincoat gave strength, your humour is yours, keep laughing and it'll magically help those around you x
Just you stay positive dear both, & will be with you in heart tomorrow. 🩷🩵🩷🙏🏻🥰🥰✊🏻✊🏻. Your nature is on your side thankfully Mandy your such a lovely person. Love & hugs xxx
Well, it's wazzing down tonight as I watch your video, hoping it's better weather for your appointment tomorrow. The dog looks like he'd be happy if I didn't take him out for last orders; and I'm reminded by you in the vidio that it's the changes that signal a call to action, and that my late brother took too long to go and see his doctor about changes in his bowel movement. Thanks for the reminder. Take care, big hugs to both. 👋 🇬🇧🇺🇦🇪🇺
So great to see you, Mandy. Been thinking of you and John ❤. Thank you so much for the update and hope all goes well tomorrow. Just wanted to thank you and John as well as hubby and i have followed you from the beginning. You have inspired us and we have just bought our first van to convert 🤪🤔. Lots of love to you both ❤❤
Hi Mandy we all send you kind words of support but that won’t stop you worrying try to stay positive You can tell how worried you are but treatment has come a long way these days so think positive my thoughts are with you 🥰💖💕
Thank you for beimg so open with this Mandy, its so helpful for people, especially other worriers like me! Gotta say, i love dark twisted humour too, Paramedics are usually the best comedians ive found. :)
Here in the USA the nurses and technicians aren't allowed to say anything about what they see on scans or reports before the doctor says it. That's why they say things like she did and just keep repeating the same thing. Not something to worry about it. Hang in there.
Good luck for tomorrow x it will be good when you have your treatment plan in place as you can focus on that. I have been very cranky the last few days as I had the first stage of my reconstructive surgery last Thursday so feeling sore and tired but glad to finally be moving forward. Humour definitely helps and is my default and coping mechanism when things go wrong or are out of my control x sending healing thoughts x
It’s good to keep checking and be aware of any changes but mine was only picked up at breast screening as was deep and couldn’t be felt. I love how you are keeping positive and your sense of humour is amazing. I think you just have to go with the flow and at the end of the day you can’t control what is happening to you but you can control how you deal with it, take care, 💚
@@unadventurousmandy yea I worked as an oncology nurse for years so aware what to look for but this couldn’t be detected by my monthly checks, that’s why screening is important. Thanks for sharing your treatment and life with us💚
Humour is a very great blessing to have…. Good luck for the results tomorrow…hopefully after tomorrow you’ll have a clear plan of progress…..and action….❤️&🙏🏻
Nothing wrong with dark humour, I let it out all the time very often where I shouldn't 😊 If they aren't rushing things it's definitely a plus! They are rushing my friend as they seem to get rid of it in one place and it pops up in another, we're now taking bets on where next. Take care, big hugs 🐾🐾🐕🦓

Hello Mandy, just caught up with your vlog this morning… so glad the boob check went well 🩷. Wishing you well for today (9th April); will be thinking of you this afternoon 🙏🏻❤️. Love & big hugs to you & John. xxxx
Hey Mandy, first big hugs from us ❤ We are wondering if you and John are going to VanLife Festival in June? It will be our first and we are just finishing our van conversion. It would be so lovely to chat to you both about conversions 😁🚚
I’m not an expert but from having members of my family treated for cancer yes you will worry Everyone worries, including members of your family and your friends but usually there is a case meeting where nurses, consultants etc discuss your case, make decisions and tell you the outcomes. I wouldn’t ask staff who are not at least at consultant level about your case because to be honest who knows more?
Dark and twisted is a great way to deal with things. Years ago I had to have a lump removed from my breast, is was so close to my lung I had to sit up whilst it was removed so no damage was caused to my lung, whilst I was clamped in the mammogram machine, firstly the chair/bed thing I was on started to roll away from the machine whilst I was clamped to it with my boob, the staff were behind their screen taking images, I'm screaming get me out of here, they came running to see what was wrong, stopped the chair/bed thing from moving, I said I was expecting Sid James to walk in, it was like a carry on film. They then proceeded to remove the lump, I asked if I could watch as I prefer to oversee things 😂 I commented that it was like drilling for oil as the drill machine was removing the tissue, one of the staff said, you'll be expecting Larry Hagman next from Dallas 😂 all was good in the end as the lump was benign. Sending love and healing to you all xxx❤
How long will it take from your diagnosis to the beginning of treatment? Do you have access to your medical records like we do here in the US? Knowledge is power in these situations.
Who the hell cares what they were or weren’t expecting. I get so short with folk who talk in circles when all you want is your own information. Happy I got an all clear result on my boob screen today as well. Sorry Mandy, I cannot do root beer. I think it tastes like Germolene….remember Germolene? 😆
So glad all is well with your boobs Mandy, at least that's one less thing to worry about! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow, you'll be in my thoughts. Sending you and John lots of love.
At least they didn't call you and say they needed to work you in earlier. Them being willing to delay is actually a positive. 🌺
This is very true ❤️❤️
I hope they see you in a big room next time because we are all with you in spirit . Sending love and strength x
How frustrating for you Mandy, it’s a good job you’re positive and have a good sense of humour! Good luck tomorrow, I hope you get some answers 🤞

Keep the courage going Mandy, it will see you through ❤
May be a good idea to keep some fresh ginger and lemons in your fridge. Just in case of nausea. Visualising good results for you Mandy, bless you
Each time I had chemo, I was given an anti nausea tablet.

I applied for access but it seems most are on request, I don’t know how long exactly just yet but it’ll be approx 2 months but feels like 2 years
That’s a long wait. Sending you good wishes.
Laughter is the best medicine! 😂 ❤
Sending hugs for today. X
So glad all is well with your boobs Mandy, at least that's one less thing to worry about! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow, you'll be in my thoughts. Sending you and John lots of love.
