How can u make 22psi on k03s at redline .. K03s at redline will only make 12 to 13psi at redline... Or u may be just peaking 22 psi at 3000 to 4500rpm and then the boost naturally drops to 12 or 13psi at 6000rpm

If your tourqes are high you need to poly bushe wish bones. And gear box dog mount and engine mounts to . As it will stop all that movement and be able to pull away in first . Get rid of all that rubber . Trust if u haven't this will cure it . That's y she doesn't like 1st as the rubber has to much movement. And as your remap has taken well by the sounds of it . The rubber mounts not man enough . I have had to put audi mounts and bits in to replace vw bits. And I recommend that u put the powerflex for audi a4 as I have the audi lump and 6 speed gear box . But they fit golf and the parts are so much better. I have no under steer and have 50 50 weight distribution between both axles. 0 to 60 about 5 seconds . We need to meet get back to me . Cheers bud
Weird map. Stage 2 and only 228 bhp? I have 1.8t AUQ and i mapped at 220 bhp at stage 1 by Revo. No mods no nothing. Stage 2 should be at around 240-260 with a good intercooler and straight pipe. And also the auq conrods tend to break after 400 nm. Can you do a 0-100 ? Just to compare.

@@calitase1 its not the hp figure that destroys the rods on the 1.8 20vt its the torque anything over 300ftlb of torque and its good bye rods the thing with these engine is they need a nice smooth linear torque curve if there's massive spikes in torque the rods can even fail below 300ftlb
hi mate . on the golf intercooler there is a sensor which gets oil and dirt on it over the years. just give this a clean and your air maf sensor aswell due to the ram air filter . vags are great cars but when modding they are sensitive on sensors etc. what is your mileage on the car . the k03s seal mite be leaking in to exhaust. heads on 1.8t are normally good. steam seals will go if you keep oil levels low which makes them burn and leak etc....
1.8T family love mine it's running a agu with 190 on stage 1 not sure on torque but she goes good enough for me when your coming down from the rev like in second keep tapping the throttle pedal and she will let some nasty back fires off but get her really warm first your love it mate if you get it right 👌

My beast has 174 bhp at flywheel and 315 tourqes.35 mm h and r suspension .Powerflex bushes all round . Every nut and bolt replaced . Clutch and duel mass . Gear selectors. She fly . Power steering rack and pump . I also have r 32 steering wheel. Recaro seats . Double dim pioneer stereo. On the outside I have aniversary side skirts . Valance rear splitter . Rs4 17" rims .
Just put some good tyres on it, it will go in the dry in 1st easy, mine did running pretty much the same figures, on the OE clutch as well. Engine in mine was on 180k had been stage 2 mapped for 60k and I kicked its granny in every day. Still got the car parked up and it runs and idles sweet. Decent suspension especially rear springs makes all the difference for traction, R32 front wishbone bushes, I have koni coilovers on mine, it stops rear end squat so the fronts bite down harder, goodyear F1 asyms or michellin ps4 are great for traction, or a set of R888 you’ll be laughing at the pod.
Hey bro, that turbo flutter! We all love that sound!! But how are you getting it? Until recently I figured you had to upgrade to a K04 or it was a certain type of blowoff valve.. but with my research I’ve learned that to get the turbo Pewpewpepwpew flutter sound, you need to block off your blowoff valve (or disconnect the wiring harness in some newer cars).... anyhow, just curious!
Hey mate that beautiful noise started when I upgraded the intercooler piping size (diameter), I think the amount of airflow made the turbo spin back making the stututu (never did any damage in the time I owned it so I believe it's safe 👍)
Your boost dropping could be to do with the actuator, I've read of people with boost dropping at low rpm who adjusted the nuts on the actuator arm by 2 or 3 turns/threads to force the internal valve more closed and it solved that issue, It's quite possible a previous owner had the turbo replaced and it was never setup correctly.
If you think you have too much torque in 1st gear you are able to get it mapped so its only limited in first gear. Get your Golf upto good running standards and push the turbo a little bit more with a new map and get your torque limited in first gear👍
22 mpg before wow , eats like a 6 cyl lol , just a simple mod , many newer cars have blacked out door frame between the front and rear windows ( side view ) , i did that to my mk4 and it looks amazing !
the car will respond better in normal driving if you keep to third in a 30 (or 4th if youre steady 35 or more) keep it in 4th gear at 40/45mph and 5th for 50mph+ not telling you how to drive just some kindly advise that im willing to share, this will also improve fuel economy as long as you are very gentle with the throttle :) Car sounds mean man
people i know who drive these or even 1.9tdi's always driving around in 5th gear in 30 and generally being in too high of a gear. Efficient driving isnt about keeping the revs as low as powssible, its about keeping the engine in its sweet spot (2-3k rpm) and being as light as possible with the accelerator. This is not exciting stuff just handy to know how to maximize the efficiency of your driving
Josh Briggs I normally change gear every 10mph for example to accelerate 20 to 30mph I put it in 3rd and once I get to 30 I put it in 4th and maintain the speed
on cars equipped with the k03s turbo there is usually a huge torque spike when it comes on to boost until the engine goes into higher RPMs. You should notice the boost tapers downward as the RPMs go higher, this is because the k03s can't flow very well at high RPM. But that torque spike make the engine produce enough power to bend the stock piston rods with the 19mm wrist pin. Engines that came with the piston rods with 20mm wrist pins can handle more torque but not much more. BWTVs motor has the 19mm wrist pinned piston rods. If more power is desired, aftermarket rods are going to be needed. people that swap for a k04 don't have this problem as much because the k04 doesn't spool up like the k03s does. you don't get that torque spike that same way. k04 will make more HP but about the same amount of torque but at a higher RPM when in comparison.

Bit slow but doesn't need to be fast when you have black box/telematics insurance 😭. In the future I would like to have either a 1.9 tdi pd130 tuned to around 250bhp or a 2.8 vr6 4motion and turbo it.

Matthew Kilgore don’t forget exhaust, remap and brakes. It’s hardly a cheap conversion. As for 190bhp turbo won’t last very long it’s safer around 180bhp
I won't be changing the turbo as it's decent, just needs a MUCH better intercooler, exhaust and remap, I would be happy with that, but before i do power mods it needs much better brakes and suspension, it's like a damn boat and struggles to stop from, higher speeds :/
With the water bottle washer sensor....cut the wires going to it and join them together...if fault continues its a broken cable probably quite close it that area...if it fixes the issue then tape it up and forget about that sensor forever..just remember to fill the bottle

calitase1 if you had 300hp ti the wheels the stock engine will fall apart
I have a 337 2002 and had a 20th anv. Both top out about 250hp 300 tq
The AUQ with the Ko3s in good shape. Can push 250-260 hp and top out the turbo. With ko4 around 290-300 after that the conrods fail.
got a printout for that revo map? cos Revo are just generic flash maps so probably drives like sack compared to the one done at TRP

Replace the axles with heavy duty axles I been through 4 axles most likely the axle on the drivers side will be the one

300lb ft doesn't sound too excessive, what you worrying about or they known to shit them selves never had one
Supposedly 300lb is the max torque, but it also depends on the power delivery

It's the standard DV but started making a different noise when I had the intercooler and bigger pipes fitted 😜

Swap a pd130 turbo, change your injectors nozzles and get a front mount intercooler. You'll easily see 190bhp
