Somebody get these two a philanthropists of the year award. Helping millions of people around the world unabashed and completely free and open. Another great video from you two 😊
My son is 16 and is now in a wheelchair due to an autoimmune disease. I know he has tons of questions. Thank you all for this video and your suggestions!
We live in NZ and my husband is paraplegic. We were so blessed to have so much support in everything except sexual function and intimacy - absolutely zero support from everyone we asked for help. Glad we've figured out what works for us now but it's been a ton of trial and error as we're trying to get pregnant too. So thank you for making this video! It's needed!
Wow, why is that in your opinion? I always assumed it is kind of normal part of recovery after injury or part of general assistence for disabled people or interabled couples. I mean there is therapy and treatment for all kinds of other sexual issues... Happy to hear though that you were able to figure something out for yourselves!
@@suann9790 no idea, it was almost like they didn't expect him to even try to have sexual intimacy as part of post-SCI life. Other SCI friends found the same. Otherwise the support for everything else has been incredible
It's very refreshing that you 2 could be honest but also remain private. It's cool to open up people who may still be in the dark about how it is for couples in this situation.
Hi Cole and Charisma. I am actually and Neurology Trauma RN and I find this channel so informative and helpful. This is also giving me awesome insight, in what my patient’s may struggle with after they are discharged. Really appreciate this personnel info.
Thank you guys for being so open about intimacy in your relationship even though you don't have to be. You both continue to educate and inspire people by being so open about your relationship. Much love to you both 💕 ❤
Thank Y'all so much! My husband went to Shepherd too in 2008 and he's a C-5,6 incomplete quadriplegic. There's a Peer Support Group that meets monthly now at Shepherd where they discuss intimacy regularly and are extremely open to answer any question that comes up. We used to go often because we live close to Shepherd and we always said my husband and I were an open book so ask away. Hahaha
I was with dream girl before my injury last year and we could no longer continue the relationship I believe mostly due to lack of intimacy, I still haven’t gotten over it honestly but your videos are very informative and appreciated. Cole your wife is beautiful, hope to find someone like her who will love me like that
I don’t comment a lot but I was so impressed and informed by this video. I don’t have a disability and am not dating a person with a disability but watching your videos make it so much less intimidating. If I were to meet someone who has an SCI I feel like, because I’m more educated thru watching these videos, I’d be much less reserved in dating someone with an SCI. I have a much clearer picture of what life and dating looks like in the disability world and that itself makes it less scary. You guys did such a great job handling these questions with really articulate information that is easy to consume and opens up the possibilities for a lot of people. Thank you for sharing in such a comfortable way. ❤
I remember having strong headaches during and after very intense orgasms, now I learned it is called autonomic dysreflexia . I guess it can happen to anyone, whether disable or not. All the best to both of you and keep trying and exploring.... it is worth it.
Yes, headaches after an orgasm can definitely happen to anyone but autonomic dysreflexia is specific to those with a spinal cord injury. So if you don’t have an SCI, then it may be something different. Thanks for watching 🥰
I am loving this conversation you two. One thought I had for facilities with SCI patients or even other disabilities is to have a dedicated number for people to leave their anonymous intimate questions via voicemail then have them addressed in the newsletter? Oh yeah and congrats on hitting a million subscribers. You guys totally deserve it. You always put out great content. Love ya.🎉❤🎊👍👏😁
Congratulations on 1M subscribers!! Thank you for your willingness to share your lives with millions of people all over the world! You're doing wonderful work advancing the cause for all people living with disabilities!
Y'all are amazing for your transparency! I had a relationship with a quadrupoliguc and experienced much of what you talked about. Thank you for being an amazing source for a topic that can be taboo to discuss!
There is formal education and street/hands on education. Both forms are valid. Your education to make you "expert" came from hands on of being disabled and your partner interacting with you. Great chat well done.
You guys are going places, high places!!! You could teach classes, you know. And congratulations 🎊 on almost 1M subscribers . I gotta go find more people to subscribe right now. Cheers 🍻!!!
1M subscribers?!! Yabberdabberdoo!!! 😂 Excellent subject management. You handled that topic nicely. Like you, others in similar situations will have to kind of figure out what works for them. Truly loving each other goes a long ways. Knowing that you’re accepted and loved is big.
YALL HIT 1 MILLION!!!!!!! Yay! I’m so proud of y’all and how far y’all have come. I’ve been watching for a little over 4 years. I can’t wait for the 1 million subscribers video! Much love from Alabama❤
Excellent job you guys. I’m not disabled or in a relationship, but I loved watching both episodes. I really think you relate well to men struggling with their disability and may not know where to start to have a relationship yet alone the intimate part. Write a book if you haven’t already started. In this decade with new technologies and medicine, you are a breath of fresh air. Please consider it! ❤️❤️❤️
Haven’t even gone through the whole video but I had to say, thank you for being so open about this topic. I work in healthcare and I think this is so helpful to know in order to take better care of my disabled patients.
Yes!!! You hit 1 million subscribers Congratulations Cole & Charisma on that milestone🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 You two should think about starting a podcast, you will definitely help a whole lot of people out there. Love you guys❤️❤️❤️
I like the way you two handled the series of intimacy questions as it relates to your unique situation. Just proves love always finds a way. Another great video.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR GIVING REAL ANSWERS. 🎉🎉❤❤❤ I've watched another channel that just keeps saying the disabled partner has sexual function but they don't explain anything about how the both of them function together. You guys were very informative and gives a perspective of realistic expectations. Trail and error. Etc etc. Bravo

It's called curiosity. But that aside, it's also educational for people that have similar experiences because these are topics that are often not discussed openly
Y’all are answering these questions so responsibly! I’m sure it’s going to benefit a lot of people. I am a female quad. I had a very unexpected episode with AD mid intimacy quite a few years after my injury. It hadn’t ever happened before but the pain was so bad I still fear it in the back of my mind every time we are intimate. One minute you are experiencing the best feeling and then all of a sudden, BAMM! The worst feeling to date, by far! The pressure in my head was so intense all I knew is it felt better when I tried to squeeze the sides of it so that’s what we did for a few minutes until everything calmed down. I’ve seen some people get prescribed to a mild sedative or low dose blood pressure medication just to take like an hour before and they say it works fine for them. I’m SO thankful that I haven’t had it happen in a long time but like I said, I’m still afraid that it will at any time. Btw I haven’t ever had AD for any reason other than when I had an orgasm but once it happens YOU KNOW! There’s no confusion about what is going on because it’s so intense and painful. Well, for me it was. Did I mention how thankful I am that it doesn’t happen anymore?!🥴
Happy that you'll are sharing. Many people you become disable feel like there life is over. Over the years I've witness many give up. Your channel is so helpful.

Found y’all through Shane and Hannah’s videos and I’ve done Uber type work literally almost every single day for the longest time and after finding their videos and falling in love with them I had to take the day off to binge both of y’all’s channels ❤ so much I’ve learned today, so much to love about y’all and each others perspectives. In part 1, what Cole talked about regarding his battles with confidence resonated so much with me, I love the positivity❤❤❤
I randomly came across your page maybe 2-3 years ago. I started watching videos out of curiosity. I am an able bodied individual and I never really thought much about what a interabled relationship would look like but I’m so glad you guys are so informative while keep your privacy. I have a friend who is not fully able bodied and I sent that website because I found it to be very cool to help out with levels of intimacy. I wasn’t fully knowledgeable to answer their questions so these videos are so cool. Especially because I never know if this may end up being my future situation this is awesome to be able to educate myself on.
I hope that we do not just focus on the SCI patient but also include their significant others (parents, siblings, spouses, etc.) who are caring for them, who may also want to know about intimacy issues, and who could also provide information to patients once they, themselves, are informed as well. They would be good targets for the anonymous intimacy question box.
Hats off to you both for even talking about this because this is very personal 👏 and like always you answered the questions with class! Now let's move forward 😊
Congratulations Cole and Charisma on 1 million subs🎉🎉🎉❤ Been watching and following you guys since the couch vlogs from Cole's parents' house days. Much love from South Africa🇿🇦🇿🇦❤ May God continue blessing you guys.

Hi Cole and Charisma. Well done on this video, you help so many people with theses issues. You are both brave and talk about this very sensitive issue with confidence, all things you obviously have had to work on. Something you may be able to offer others is advisors and appreciation. Great job done. Your such a loving and thoughtful young couple, stay in love, always. 🙋👩❤️💋👨♥️
Both of you have such a mature, kind, loving, and respectful way of speaking to each other & to your audience, as well. I enjoy every episode that you share and always learn something new. As a nurse who started out as an 18yr old Nursing Assistant on a young spinal cord injury unit, this would have been very helpful info to have had back then. There were a number of times that I walked into a teenage boy's hospital room and found him to be in an embarrassing situation. More so for him than me because I was very comfortable with human bodies and their function, but there were definitely times that it was awkward, and I couldn't just excuse myself for a few minutes. It was especially so when either of us had a crush on one another or especially when we were attracted to each other. It was tricky though when the desire was there because I was not really "allowed" to enter into a relationship at that point. It was definitely fun, exciting & really made me look forward to going into work each day, but I did have to remember to be professional, or as much as I could be as a young person myself. I definitely spent much more time in their rooms than the other patients at that time 😉 When one boy, in particular, was discharged from the hospital though....we DID have a lot of fun❣️ Still, though, the topics you have covered would have been incredibly beneficial to staff and the patients we cared for each day. I know that by your openness and willingness to share your knowledge and experience, you will change the lives of so many people of all ages and roles. I am so happy that you have found one another, and what a Blessing to have all of the love, respect, and trust that you do in & for each other. It's a wonderful example for people, of any age or relationship status. Thank you, for all that you do and share. You are a remarkable young couple & the sky's the limit for you! Much love, Christina (in New Hampshire)

I definitely spent much more time in their rooms than the other patients at that time 😉
When one boy, in particular, was discharged from the hospital though....we DID have a lot of fun❣️
Still, though, the topics you have covered would have been incredibly beneficial to staff and the patients we cared for each day.
Much love,
Christina

❤❤ You two are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed both of the intimacy videos. Another comment said philanthropist of the year, I wholeheartedly agree.
Communication is so key to any relationship, especially intimacy. Y’all are just awesome.
