YASSSS FOREST GUARDIANS!!! love the colors you chose 🥰
Yay for your first house!
I was so happy when I moved back to the Midwest from the east coast! I hope that one day we'll run into each other at a market or something once you're back in the Midwest, just because it'd be kinda cool. Love your work and my thoughts will be with you as you navigate buying your first house. You got this!
My favorite size hook for Bernat blanket is 6.5mm! 😊
Excited for you to move back to the Midwest! I lived in California for a year and its definitely a very different feel than the Midwest. My husband and I are in central Indiana and we love it! ❤
I know you've talked about your love of sock knitting but today's video was super enabling🤣 So much so that I clicked on the video you shared and then her pattern...it is tempting, not going to lie! Do you find that you knit more than you crochet? Or feel torn on what to do?! If I start knitting, I need more yarn/different yarns...it's like a vicious cycle here! Congrats on your upcoming move!
😂 Love your helper!
As you were rolling up the rug, I thought "She better not be hiding something in there" 😂😂
Yay! Central/southern IL girlie here! Welcome home ❤
Obsessed with these chameleons!
Ahh no way!! Thank you, and thank you so much for watching!! (:
Me too! ❤️
I usually use anywhere from a 5.75mm-6.5mm hook with bernat.
Sending good vibes for your move and house purchase! Hope all goes well! 🙏🏽🍀 I'm 31 and still have yet to buy a house and I'm looking forward to and dreading it all at once!
Also what I do with my polyfil to take it with me to work or a different room I put some in a kroger bag or something just so I dont have to carry the big bag
I missed you. But getting it now. Can't wait for Mr C.
I got into sock knitting because of you and I am obsessssssed. My crochet has actually been sadly neglected because I can’t put the socks down 😂
For amigurumi, I use a hook that is the same size as the yarn (Look for the little yarn ball drawing with a number on it). Example- worsted weight is a 4, so I use a 4mm. Big Twist Posh is a 5, so I use a 5mm.
You need to get a rolling station. They have some cute ones at Lowe's. That way it's easier to move from room to room.
Best of luck buying a house and moving cross-country! 💕 so excited to be along for the adventure!
3:20 if you have a big metal straw you can use it as an eye tool just like the safety eye tool with a ball on one end and maybe you can attach a tennis ball on the straw
No way!!! So. Il here! Welcome back❤
Pesto is a normal size for penguin chicks they look bigger because their feathers are puffier to keep them warm before their swimming feathers develop.
I love the idea of only using your current yarn stash for a month! You could do No Spend November (Yarn Edition) 😂
21:49 I hope you’re naming your swift Taylor 😂
A trick for those types of safety eyes is boil water and pour in a cup then pop the backings in one at a time in the water. Use a spoon to pull them out after about 10-15 seconds and have a paper towel ready to dry off. They will go on pretty easily after that
I just moved from Orange County California to the south of Wisconsin this summer. I feel your pain, but you’ll get through it.
I used to use a 6mm for Bernat but I’ve downsized to a 5.5 or 5 with their newer yarns because they are softer and thinner.
Loved crocheting and listening to your video i bought the tool for the eyes also its great and so easy to add the eyes yeah California has lots of people who are snobs i live in Orange county and been her forever and i still think that lol i was born and raised here and always felt that way but it is what is lol tfs..Barbara
McDonald's was my first job. I used to love getting happy meals and collecting the toys. I'm right there with you. 🤣Love the Cat with the toe beans.
Hahaha yes!!! you get me 😂 thanks for watching!
I get what you mean about So Cal people being less friendly. I moved here from South Carolina and it's a pretty big difference. Luckily the people in my neighborhood have gotten used to my waving and wishing them good morning/evening/day and such. I am hoping that your move to Illinois goes well. It was a lovely when I lived in suburban Chicago.
I'm using a 5.5mm hook for Bernat blanket yarn at the moment. On another note, I just bought 2 skeins of Wool-ease Thick and Quick on discount at my local Meijer. One color was marked down to $1.00, and the other color was $0.70! They were the last 2 clearance ones, and I'm going to make ear warmers for Christmas presents.
This was such a relaxing video to crochet to and have breakfast while my daughter is playing. Now I want to do a deep dive of that rug tik Tok though 😅
Aww I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!! LOL it's a crazy story😂
I live in Illinois! How exciting! I love it here too. ❤
Hi. Annie, I know you can do it. ❤My husband suffers from anxiety and our move to another town, which also included buying our first house, was very stressful for him but once we got to our new place and we settled in he was fine. 😊 We also moved with 3 cats! Lol. You guys will be fine.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate it so much🥰 so glad to hear your move went well too!!
OMG please let me have all those books! LOL I will pay for the shipping of course!
if the eye tool is the same as elise has reviewed on her channel, two pieces on it allows you to change the size. the forest guardian is very cute
Thank you! Yes! I love Elise!
@@hooksandheelers ^^ It did not say on the packaging so now you don't have to stress yourself out that you might have wasted money :)
I use anywhere from a 6.5 to 8mm hook for bernat yarn. I crochet super tight and need the bigger hooks otherwise my stuff turns out tiny.
Love your videos!!
thank you so much, and thanks for watching!! (:
Yay! Illinois! I’m in south central Illinois 🥰
No way!! That's awesome, we will be neighbors soon!! :D
Happy Monday, Annie! I have the “Forest Guardian” in my Etsy cart!
Carl is the best☺️
We Midwesterners are THE friendliest folks, for sure! There are comedians that do entire skits about it! Lol it’s ingrained like at birth, I swear. 😊
But, oh Ohio. Le sigh. 😅
I STRONGLY VOTE FOR “yarn to Patreon folks”! 😉🫶🏻🧶🧡
I've been using a 5mm for my cat plushies with blanket yarn!
So IL girl here! Rug theory: There might have been remains in/on the rug at one point.
Wahoo for Southern IL! I’m in Monroe County. Reach out if you ever have any questions!
Hii, so the way i know what crochet hook size i need to use is by measuring the thickness of yarn with a regular ruler that you use for drawing lines hehe🤭🩷
Im on "Anxiety Blanket" No 6 ! To give context, I decided to use up my stash , before buying anymore. So, I'm now on blanket no 6 and I've still got lots of yarn. (Anxiety is the mood / feelings I'm experiencing., so I crochet different types of squares and make them into blankets ) 😅😅😅 Guess my Xmas gifts are sorted out now !!
i am doing something like that but with toys XD I actually walked past a shelf with yarn in a shop today and told my mom 'no I have enough yarn right now' XD
Omg Illinois? I live in Illinois, and am always looking for crochet friends. We could hang out or something!
For eyes I would definitely rather hot glue them, will it leave some plastic yarn? Yes, I’d rather have plastic bits that make my fingers bleed out
Can you do more tutorials ? Love this video 😊
Of course! I definitely plan on making some for my free crochet patterns. If there's one in particular you'd like to see, let me know! Thanks for watching!
@@hooksandheelers Can you please consider make a video tutorial for your no-sew starfish?
what eye size did you use for the forest guardian ?
25 mm!! (:
I tried toget on website you have foe the safety eyes & it doesn't work. HElP, please. Thank you.
