@@Alejandro333777 Patrick Seitz is a voice actor. His well known roles are Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, and Franky from One Piece.
For his involve in voicing characters from Sonic franchise, he voiced Zommon - the fat zeti in Lost World and Lyric in Sonic Boom.

It’s great that sonic is getting the super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s fury treatment and hopefully it turns out as great as that.
I am very much looking forward to see Black Doom with Ian Flynn dialogue, since he happens to be one of Ian's favorite characters.
One thing I don't like about the talk surrounding Generations is the "Well it was already on PC in 4K 60fps + mods".
Cool, it was. But consoles didn't have that, and all Xbox had was 4K upscaling with a 60fps patch. Game isn't playable on Playstation 4/5 nor is it available on Nintendo hardware.
I just find the "this is bad because of the mods for OG generations" talk such a nonsensical argument.
iirc Episode Shadow was developed much later in Forces' production, which is why there was some differences in Infinite's backstory, the 20 minute length, and level design that's a lot of metal boxes.
I think the Shadow campaign will be longer this time. I'd expect it to be 1-2 hours, a little shorter than Forces, but still acceptable as an added feature to a remaster.

I hope all the work they're doing with the Generations portion of this remaster teaches the new Sonic Team a good lesson in boost level design. Generations is the best we've seen of Sonic level design with the boost if I dont count Unleashed. I want to see more of that care and depth in our boost levels
If there's one thing I would love for them to do with this remaster is make it where you don't lose rings as fast when your Super Sonic. It was cool seeing them fly whenever you boosted but even with plenty of rings it drained quickly
We need an adventure 1-2 remake put together as 1 with the new shadow engine.
I get why some people dont like Kirks Shadow but I dont think hes had anytime to really shine, hopefully this game gives him that chance
The shadow expansion will show if the developers at sonic team still have the talent in making good modern sonic stages instead of the straight line stages in forces.
I'm only expecting an Episode Shadow. I would be rather suprised if it's even anymore than 5 stages. Gens was already an extremely short game of about 2 hours.
Seeing as episodes shadow was called "episode shadow " of course it was short but seeing as this is literally called sonic X shadow I would assume there adding a fair bit more content then just a stage you don't call a whole video game that do a new rendering for a trailer and promote it this much just for a stage in a game
@kailara8002 I mean Nintendo did just remarked New Super Mario Bros Wii U as "Luigi U" just by changing Mario to Luigi. The games were fully identical otherwise. And Nintendo even marketed that year as "the year of Luigi" just for that one game. I mean Sega did just do the same thing with "the year of Sonic" which was about as content dry as it's been for the last few years.
2:13 Perhaps the reason for this is because Generations initally released on PS3 & Xbox 360 and utilized Hedgehog Engine while Colours initally released on Wii and utilized (correct me if I'm wrong) Starlight Engine.

I just want Metal Generations and other big old school mods to come back but I know for sure they are going to add denuvo, maybe even like how Superstars did without even disclosing it before release.
Usually, the Producer doesn’t necessarily have a very directly involved role in a game’s development. It’s actually the reason Yuji Naka originally left Sonic Team, because he was put in a producer role and he wanted to program the games.
I think Shun Nakamura gets a lot of the hate for how Forces turned out because of his “dash like a maniac” quote, but in reality he was probably just relaying the goal the actual developers of the game were going for rather than being like “this was my idea” lol. Morio Kishimoto was the director of Forces and thus he was the one to come up with the idea to have a game where you can “dash like a maniac.” Not sayin we should start hating on Kishimoto cuz we know he is learning, but I think we need to learn who the director of Shadow Generations is before we start blaming anyone! :)
What I ultimately hope for out of this is a decently sized campaign that does Shadow's character/story justice, while also still feeling like Generations content. Dynamic camera angles, creative level/boss re-imaginings, etc.
It'd also be cool if the story was actual related to the events happening in Generations. So it'd sortoff serve as the game's "Dark" story.
I think it was said somewhere in one of the Sonic X Shadow Generations game descriptions that Shadow's Campaign does takes place during Sonic Generations.
I know it's only to help promote Shadow's presence in Sonic Movie 3, but I really do like how Sonic Team is trying to explain Shadow's absence in the story of Shadow Generations in a way that makes him still feel as vital to saving the world as Sonic like back in the days when he was a regularly recurring playable character. ...Now let's just hope it's not Episode Shadow in terms of shortness (3 very short Forces-levels aren't enough to explain Shadow's history & motivations to newcomers.).
i hope there'll be story cutscenes with Classic,Modern Sonic and Shadow interactions,and i hope you can play as Shadow. you saw Shadow's eyes in the trailer? maybe he'll get new forms and powers because of his dna creation?
The only thing I can see mephiles being in shadow generations is if there addressed that mephiles came from alternative universe where sonic 06 is cannon after all they brought Crisis city from sonic 06 maybe they pulling stuff from alternate universe as well?
If Mephiles returns, I also want Sonic to fight him for the first time.
About the potential length of the campaign... If The Final Horizon is anything to go by, they can make 9 new levels in about a year. But since there are bosses, there will probably be fewer levels to make room for boss development, and probably needing to create/update assets. I'm expecting it to be shorter than base Generations, but longer than Episode Shadow.

This has probably been in development for around a year already, so it'd be 2 years. The Frontiers updates were handled by a smaller team than the base game.
What if stages transition between eachother Rift Apart style. Thats what that black doom portal-esque sequence looked like to me. Like you start off in Final Chase and transition to radical highway then so on so forth? Maybe a stretch but not impossible

They should really make some dlc level packs for both sides. They really missed out on that the first time they released this, and it would add value and make some extra money
I mean... if the director goes in with the mindset he had when designing levels for Unleashed based on the difficulty curve, than I think there really is a shot for him to make fun levels and lengthy levels. I honestly can't wait to see what they have been making because it genuinely looks amazing!!
I agree with the Kirk Thornton shadow voice. I'm used to playing as kisame from Naruto so when he speaks I can only Invision kisame speaking
Hopefully, it's like Generations level design rather than Forces. Then we should be fine.
If Shadow is gonna have main bosses in the story, Black Doom, I would have said let him be second for his Shadow game rep but think it would be best for him to be last since he's the Main villain that we know. So I think Mephiles should come back as one of the main act bosses like the Biolizard. It all depends on how many stages we're getting along with how long the campaign will be.
honestly i hope sega brings back mephiles here and I'm also questioning that well shadow get his "dark" and "hero" forms or versions in this game or maybe something similar to them giving what they represent
My biggest hype for this game is going to be the boss fights!
Considering Supreme 2 from Final Horizons took less than a year to make, I hope this will be at least comparable.
Honestly Im really hyped for this update and I love that they are going back to the roots of shadow and I really think they are not going to make him that edgy but how he was in the adventure and 06 game. I think this is a good start to making shadow great again and Im so hyped for this remaster because this is gonna be on a more newer engine. The doom and biolizard bosses look so amazing and beautiful. I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS REMASTER! Great video same keep it up! :)
Y'all, this is actually so huge for us console players who played it back in 2011 on original hardware: from 720p 30 FPS to potentially 4K 60 FPS is huge. Gens has some technical issues that hold the game back for me on Xbox 360 that will naturally be fixed with the Current Gen conversions, and it may beat Sonic Unleashed and Frontiers for me!

I want to see Shadow shoot a beam at Mephiles like how Mephiles shoot Sonic.
If you can play as shadow in all modern levels after beating the Story mode that would be cool and make up for the length of shadows story if it happens to be short. That would be a small but big addition for me. Also imagine a two player vs mode with sonic and shadow and other characters
If Black Doom is coming back, i am eager to see if Sean Schemmel (Goku) is coming back to voice him. 😅

My main gripe so far is that nothing in the main game was ported to HE2. With Shadow’s campaign, it’s gonna look way less consistent in the visual department.
You can tell if something is from HE1 or 2 by just looking at it.
Hope they add some stuff from like newer games like the drop dash and also give modern sonic spin dash. I would love to see a two player mode and also would be cool to play as classic sonic in modern levels
Ideally I would like his campaign to be at least as long as Sonic's, so maybe 12 levels with 4 boss fights. But my lowest expectation is: really anything more than 3 levels is good, as long as we don't get another Episode Shadow.
The other thing: I'm curious to see Shadow's reaction when going through painful memories and already knowing how it will end. Will he end up getting more traumatized? Or more stoic? Is he going to get any character development at all in the end of campaign?
These are burning questions, ngl.
I really want it to be longer too and not a short 30-40min story, I want to see Maria and Dr Gerald, not only acknowledged, but also shown! 🙏🏾
It's been a long time since they've been mentioned and Maria was/is a integral part of Shadow's character development.

My best estimate is 25 min-hour of new shadow content, i dont really see them giving us a multi hour story, i wouldn't be surprised if the content in the trailer is literally all were getting.
Just hope it plays well. Like with sonic they took the model from forces and gameplay will be more frontiers, the fact it looks we will be able to use chaos control attacks like spear and teleportation should be cool. So far I think it’s looking fine, I mean we only had about a minute of footage not much to critique yet. And yeah hopefully campaign will be at least over a hour at least, not less than 10 mins. I do hope they will be able to improve his character as for many people, in the games and past comic issues where he isn’t written well, to which I agree with some things, Ian Flynn was able to improve/fix sonic friends in frontiers, so I have no worry’s there. The current voice shadow has, I actually think is fine, not as good as others but I wouldn’t say it’s bad.
I really want to see Mephiles Return as a boss. But also, I kinda want to see Infinite have a bit of an appearance. I feel like he was wasted potential from Forces and needs a redemption.

Mephiles is a time god. he can come back as a boss. But he can also return as a villain in the next sonic game. Perhaps while black doom altered time and space mephiles will seize the opportunity to come back from being erased from the timeline
I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the "X" in the name is silent. Japan does that sometimes with anime like "Hunter X Hunter" and "Spy X Family".
If they modify the original generation it'll probably small things.
What comes to my mind would be lives being removed or at least optionnal and giving the drop dash to classic sonic (eather as a base move or as a skill from the skillshop)
It's hard to imagine the Shadow part being more than an hour long considering Generations itself is really short

Not really sure why they're using the Forces and Frontiers engine for Shadow's campaign. I mean,if they're remastering Generations then they have the source code so why aren't they using it?
Also Generations helped me become a Sonic fan and I'm incredibly happy it's getting remastered properly.
I am cautiously optimistic on this but so far it looks good SO FAR!!!!!

So Sonic Team is back to the two team system, Nakamura's team aad Kishimoto's team.
I hope we get a mephiles bossfight, I hope we see more of the side cast return, and I hope that above all else, they continue making characters other than Sonic playable in future titles. I like that they're starting with the safe options (tails, knuckles, amy and shadow) but I hope they're building confidence to try making characters like blaze, silver, omega or the chaotix playable again.
Shadow the hedgehog was a decent game that could be a really good remaster but I doubt they would since it was more violent with more language
Sam do you have any plans to do a new Sonic discussion video with Premy and Twip again? Those were really fun to listen to.
Regarding the length of the campaign, they have a decent chunk of levels they can revisit. In Shadow's game there are many different scenarios, but there are also the Adventure 2 levels, some sections of Heroes, 06, maybe they can reuse some Sonic scenarios and change some paths, some enemies. Basically, his campaign can be as long as they want it to be. Now, I don't think the level designs this time will be as bad as Forces' because Sega won't allow themselves to lose the hype and good position they've been acquiring recently thanks to Sonic. Truth be told, Sonic levels in Generations are very well made, it's going to be hard making Shadow's levels feel as good or even similar to the already known ones, especially because of the momentum
Edit: I love the fact they are reusing Shadow's logo from his 2005 game, that says a lot about Shadow's lore importance here
Also, will his levels have a 2D version too? Will this be the first time we see 2D Shadow officially?

Hey Sam wanna say love the video it's awesome and definitely looking forward to this game it's awesome and can't wait for Shadow campaign in this remastered it's gonna be awesome and Black doom is back yes and definitely do hope that Sean schemmel does return as Black doom definitely be so awesome and he is awesome voice actor too along with Kirk as Shadow i love his voice as Shadow and looking forward to what he brings to the table for this campaign it's awesome and can't wait for this game hype!!!!!
My gut's telling me Shadow's campaign will probably be as long as one of Sonic's "eras" in the main game. So basically, Radical Highway/Westopolis, Final Chase, the comet from his game, the Biolizard fight, and a Frontiers-style Super fight against Black Doom. That's just my prediction.
I hope I'm wrong. I'd LOVE a nine-level campaign for Shadow.

Thing I wanna stress about Kirk Thorton voicing Shadow is that he has done a more fitting voice for other characters in the past and is really such an overall great voice actor, he could do really good as Shadow if they have him lean more calm than sounding always angry. His voice for Saix in Kingdom Hearts for example is really good. I love Kirk Thorton’s voice as a whole tbh I wouldn’t wanna see him lose the role of Shadow when I think he can do a really good one. He’s not the best Shadow ever but I still hate seeing his talents get downplayed by folks who haven’t heard him elsewhere.
I'm gonna say the game really look good for the remaster it's kinda like super mario 3d world plus bowser fury the main game still there but now there's a new campaign completely different from the main game and I'm gonna be honest here I think they just need port to next gen and PC and not port in switch by I mean switch is weak hardware but there's amazing game in switch but for other big games like RE 8 can't run on switch so I think sega need focus sonic game in the next gen and PC only

I think it's meant to be called Sonic AND Shadow Generations. Or maybe like Hunter Hunter where the X is just a visual. If I'm wrong for any real reason besides personal beliefs please feel free to tell me so.
Until someone from SEGA says how the title is actually meant to be said, I feel like saying it as “Sonic and Shadow Generations” is the best choice for now.

if this is gonna be like bowser's fury then I think 2-3 hours would be good since that's the length of bowser's fury to complete the first time. I just hope that shadow controls better than sonic did in cyberspace in frontiers (idk how they got sonic so good in the islands but so stiff in cyberspace)
I hope shadows campaign has a hub world and isn’t 1 stage transition to the next kind of game. I’m worried it will be over quickly.
Imagine if they kept making new sonic levels for classic and modern and added them to this new generations. I'd hope it would be free but even if they charged money for new levels it would be a cool addition
I really hate that you used the word linear at 5:44 ALL boost levels are basically hallways, there's one goal even unleashed. It just had more space in them. not saying forces level design is good just that linear being the the word to describe it is just wrong.

Best case scenario, and unfortunately the least likely one: This is THE PERFECT opportunity to retcon that whole amnesia thing and get back Shadow's personality from Sonic Adventure 2, dropping the "Ow the Edge" trope once and for all by means of a wide eyed realization of "I remember EVERYTHING now!"
Otherwise it's just going to be another case of flashy nostalgia bait.

I moreso want to see Shadow go up against Infinite and see their confrontation in Forces play out. We got to see Shadow molly wop Infinite before he got the Phantom Ruby, but I want a full on section where we play as Shadow during the runback. Or hell, how about we see Shadow thrash Infinite's squad? Or see what Shadow was up to during those six months Eggman was in control. Ooh, I can't wait 😍

It might be different start from 3D Sonic 1 alllll away up to 3D Sonic & Knuckles and for modern Sonic it be adventure 1&2 remake with a Chao Garden (unless SEGA is Lazy not caring what they put out to the public) I'm excited. 🎮🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️ let's rush home and play Sonic.
This game has potential to finally fix Shadow’s character and I really hope we get not only black doom and bio lizard as boss fights but also Mephilis and infinite as well DONT SCREW THIS UP SEGA!
