I am actually so excited for this. I haven’t bought a new Sonic game since Sonic and the Black Knight when I was 9 years old, but Shadow the Hedgehog on the Gamecube was one of my favorite games growing up.
That sci-fi thing they were doing in the 3D era is really how I remember the Sonic series being, and it was actually pretty formative to my tastes. The Ark, The Egg Carrier, GUN Fortress, Chaos, Hexaco in Sonic Heroes, etc - it’s just the coolest shit ever to me, and had a big influence on how big of a sci-fi fan I am today. I know it’s cringe to say, but even the music left a big impression. I still listen to the Shadow OST to this day, and Jun Senoue’s guitar work on it is a big part of the reason I’m a metal fan as an adult. If it wasn’t for Crush 40, I’d have never found Linkin Park or Flyleaf or whatever, which means I’d never have found Slipknot, and if I never found Slipknot I would never have found Loathe and Spiritbox and many other of my current favorite bands.
Even though I’m 24 now and haven’t actually played a new Sonic game in years, Shadow the Hedgehog finally getting the respect it deserves always was going to be the thing that brought me back. And of course, if my boy Black Doom can return to the series after all these years, I can too. Sonic X Shadow Generations is a day one purchase for me. Feels good to be home.

Sonic Generations was the first game since Sonic Adventure a couple of decades ago that got me back into Sonic for a while, and I sure as heck would enjoy a new Sonic Generations on my PS4! :D
Hopefully I'll be able to control the camera and Sonic and Shadow won't turn like tanks this time around!
I'm not the type to go looking for leaks, but even I noticed Generations was strongly rumoured for a remake for a day or two before the latest State of Play. Shadow was a surprise but then as soon as he turned up I thought 'oh right, the next movie'.
Your reaction was awesome as ever. Hadn't thought of the comparison to Bowser's Fury but I enjoyed that one hugely so if it's anything like that then I'm really looking forward to it. Hope there are some quality-of-life improvements to those boss fights!

5:35 Play Project -06 rather than the original. They fixed a lot of the game breaking glitches, and I hear it’s pretty fun. You can also just watch the cutscenes on TH-cam if you want just the story bits.

It's NOT a remake. It's a remaster. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is a remake. This is a remaster. Remastering is just an upscale of the video and framerate. Like The Sly Cooper Collection for the PS3.
