I lived in South Africa once for a total of 5 Years in Germiston, and can tell you that South Africans feel overwhelmed by foreigners in their neighborhoods. Their sentiments are very much understood. Their Government should have taken a proactive approach to limit the influx of people. I left a long time ago after realizing we are living on a time bomb. South Africans have a genuine concern and they are feeling that they have been let down by their government and its true. This situation is bad and it needs a collective effort without that, many lives will be lost.

It’s bloody nonsensical to say they are Xenophobic. I’m a Nigerian born Londoner but since i actually lived in Durban and Cape Town 6 years in total I feel I need to stick up for South Africans whom I find to be the most welcoming people ever. They have an immigration crisis I believe with basically boarders that are undermined every second of day. CBD in Durban and Joburg are fully occupied by immigrants who some do awful things. South Africa has a population of 60 million citizens. But there are approximately 7 million illegal Zimbabweans in SA.
Last week Monday 700 illegal Zimbabweans were caught and arrested at the border. That's 700 people crossing the border illegally in a space of only 24 hours.
Imagine how many attempt to cross per day, month, year, or even decade. Its honestly overwhelming and if anyone in the world doesn't see a problem with that them they are clearly part of the problem.
South Africa is at 35% unemployment, while Zimbabwe is at only 6% unemployment. Let that sink in....
Zimbabweans have plied themselves in cheap labour and accept a third of what South Africans expect as a daily wage.
This is a very serious topic which needs Zimbabweans to head back home and rebuild their country. They recieved independence 14 years before South Africa. Something has to show for all those years. Zimbabwean men and women must stand up and stop burdening other countries social welfare, and socio-economic spaces.

He becomes president then SA will be the next Zimbabwe and our own people will be illegal immigrants in other countries. As a Nigerian, I understand this, South Africa is the most open country in the world apart from Nigeria. Dudula is about the people reacting to dangerous happenings on the soil. what these undocumented immigrants do, is appalling and must be checkmated. As a Nigerian, I have visited SA several times. If you see what these undocumented immigrants do, it's quite horrifying. The ANC led govt should step up and serve the people. This is not Xenophobia,it's the people stepping up to take charge and fix their nation where the govt have failed abysmally. I love and respect SAs.
However, many accusations of drug dealings and peddling levelled against Nigerians, are not accurate. Its the white SAs and Tanzanians who control the trade and also armed robbery incidents. Its just that, Nigerians are numerous, hence, are easy targets. Many foreigners commit crimes and claim to be Nigerians.
Beautiful SAs deserve to be respected and given top priority in their homeland. The govt must stand up and take charge and return SA to her pedastal of glory. You don't expect a noble battle hardened people who endured and fought against the brutalities of apartheid and before that, the discrimination s from white minority since 1652 to now endure another set of nonsensical trash from someone criminally minded immigrants. No way. God bless SA and her people.

@Khwezi Cele I will leave these comments up, and we will take a look in 15 years from now.
30 years ago, we laughed at the Zambians coming to Zimbabwe to buy bread. South Africa is going to be far worse with its collapse because there is nowhere to run. You watch what happens with an armed population who are used to violence when the food runs out. I personally believe millions are going to die in SA and you are now in the first stage of the collapse. You have no electricity, which means no mining and mass unemployment leading to desperation.
As it goes, it's predicted that a billion will be dead by the end of 2023 due to global fertilizer shortage created by this little war in Europe. Zimbabwe has stopped the production of fertilizer due to power cuts also.
This is coming to you if you like it or not. The price of food is going to double globally and the shortages are already starting to hurt in the developed world.

Regardless of the assistance rendered by the other African countries during apartheird, SA people sacrificed and bled and died for their freedom. We must respect them! But I implore them to prevail upon their government to straighten out the loopholes in their immigration policy and porous borders. I know that SA is a beautiful country with a relatively better economy than what obtains in some other African countries. This reality has made travelling to SA to be an easier choice for some Africans compared to demanding for a better governance in their own countries. President Ramaphosa strikes me as a wise man and he should please help talk sense into his counterparts that are presiding over the affairs of African nations. Enough of these shame! We can do better as Africans! You don't get to see Moroccans, Rwandas, Beninoise, or Ghaniansa desperately trying to migrate to other countries, simply because they have a working government. Immigration should be a matter of aspiration and not a matter of desperation. Africans should not be desperate to leave their countries. Enough of the senselessness and insensitivity on the part of the African leaders! Kind regards to my SA brothers and friends. Here in my country it's the same issue, but no one pays no mind to that... instead of blaming lack of jobs on immigrants, many people have come to the realization self employment is much better... imagine going to one of these "dudula" rallies, you are unemployed neither self-employed and at the end of the day you have a family to feed... Prioritize your needs and things might start working out smoothly

You, Bro and your headlines are part of African problems! We are aware that most of African journalists including your colleagues in South Africa, are an instrument of this corrupt system but, by distorting Dudula's mission, you're more disappointing and even xenophobic against South citizens who're performing the job of the sleeping officials! Otherwise please just do your right journalistic job to invistigate before cooking hatred in front of the cameras. By doing so, you're not better than what you claim to be done by Dudula. Who's paying you for that? Thanks to all smart commentators, even from outside Africa, who didn't allow to be fooled and misled. Thanks so much for understanding the reality.
