- Note: The 2 lifts require extensive welding to install the 3 point trailer hitch assembly which will cost about another $2,000 labor. Also, most gas engine motorhomes will not support the weight of lifts and large motorcycles. You will most likely need a diesel pusher for them. These are the websites referred to in the video:

I appreciate your effort in making this video - I’m picking up my first RV this week and need a shuttle. All those companies owe you.
Jerry, you mentioned dragging the rear of the hitch when going out of driveways, like a gas station.
I have a steel Versahauler motorcycle carrier that I have used for several years. I did start to scrape going out of driveways,
so I had Firestone rear air bags installed under my 23' Class C (dual tires) motorhome. Now I can raise the rear if needed.
I also added a hitch anti-rattle clamp that reduces the hitch movement entirely and keeps it quiet.
Dont listen to the comment from the guy having a go at your weight Jerry, you worked so many years to be able to enjoy yourself. Thanks for posting the video, i plan on taxing a Tmax with me on the RV.
You're a beautiful human being thank you for this information
You got me thinking Jerry. I'm going to build a short, but wide trailer that will facilitate loading a mc from the side. One advantage will be tighter cornering with no 'swing out'. A 2,000lb axle would be plenty. I was going to tow a vehicle, but I like your scooter idea
Hey Vagajerry. I was a sub of yours about a year ago; (Even before I sold my house and bought an RV.) My original channel name was (KnewWorld); It terminated due to copyright and the new you tube censorship issue. Anyway. I had the Burgy 200 and 400. My 400 was run over, with me on it, last year and I recently sold my 200 a few months ago. I plan on taking my RV and the 2011 Burgy 650 I just bought, up to VA. (Miami.... Florida in general, is not my cup of tea. Love the weather; the atmosphere of the people are less to be desired.)
My 400 was the best overall I must admit. The gas mileage and maintainence was the best of all 3. I had a platform made for the back of my RV to fit the 650...heavy critter it is. I had to upgrade the hitch and put two extra stabilizer beams ,welded and bolted to the sub frame. 600 lbs is the weight of the bike;but the original hitch vertical weight was only 300 lbs.
Well, that's my story. I'm a vagabond like you Sir. Just looking for a place in this country to rest my head and heal my spirit.* Being without friends and family in this life is a chore. Yet... I still do my best to function and live.
Please stay safe, and all Blessings unto you.
-cheers. :)
I have been debating with myself about getting a motor scooter, adult tricycle, pull car or a regular 3 speed bicycle. I drive a 24ft Class C. I think I've decided to get a regular 3 speed bicycle after a lot of research. Thanks for this information. Safe travels! 😊
Very good! Merry Christmas from Ireland :) !
CRIKEY! $2000 in labour!!!!!!???? I built one of these off my existing frame rails with some 2" square tubing, 5 minutes of welding, and some cheap Harbor Freight freight ramps for both the ramp and platform. All for under $200! Even if you can't weld, you could bolt something like that together for an extra $30! I'm astounded at what people will pay for a simple mount these days. My bike is 480LBS w/fuel, and I've hung weights off it for testing up to 1000lbs going down the road. You got reamed, my friend.
I'm soooooo glad I learned to weld and work with tools at a young age...
Oh, thank God! I read your note above and thought that's what your set up cost you! My first motorcycle carrier for my KLR 650 was another homemade project. It was a lift design that picked the bike up under the frame rails and elevated it up about 20 inches using a cheap winch from HF. Worked great, but the only problem with that is with an enduro suspension, the wheels could drop down 12 inches, so I had a few scrapes coming out of deep slope parking lots. The drive-on ramps are a much better solution for that, and the extra weight up front make the ride alot smoother on an F53 chassis.
Wow! I was enjoying your video...then I saw your scooter. I'm pretty sure it's a Yamaha X-Max 250 which I used to have in the same colour. I now have a bright yellow Burgman 400 which is a lot heavier.
I only just bought a my first ever small camper so I doubt is I can get a bike on it vertically. I'd need to tow which would be a pain in the butt. So I'm currently looking for an electric bicycle which I think will do me. I have a couple of big bikes so maybe I will try towing one day.
thanks for the information.
hydraulics parts can be purchased at any NAPA Auto Parts store
New sub and i'm shopping for a Bike lift for my bike and motorhome, thanks for the info!
Have you came across a motorcycle carrier that has a outer hitch to attach another small trailer, such as a jet ski trailer?
Not with a ramp like mine but with a couple other styles here you can -- www.discountramps.com/carriers/c/2130/pgnum/2/
Were are getting a Jayco Seneca in the next month, it is out of paint yay (its being built). Anyhow, I ran across your video and I'm looking for something to possibly mount a scooter to the back of it. We also are going to be pulling our Jeep like in the picture in the video. I am trying to figure out where to start. Is this even possible with a Jayco Seneca super C. I also heard that some manufactures void warranties / if you have one still if you attach and or weld to the bumper / frame 3 party attachments. Thanks for the video and great information.
@@jerrydixon Good to know thanks!
I like the one you have
Of course it's going to scrape it's only a few inches off the ground!
So which carrier did you actually buy and put together and modify as shown in your videos??
Dude, lose some poundage. Listening to you wheeze while you are only talking is painful.
How rude.
