10 yrs ago I have qualms with the barber who can't cut a straight 90 degrees side n I decided I m going to cut my own hair. Now after 10 yrs I m the best barber for me, as I can change the style I want. Its easy after a few times. This WAHL clipper is 20 yrs old, belongs to my wife n its a tough guy n never dies. If it make noise, just adjust the screw beside the handle, n it seems to go on forever. A very good investment indeed, n WAHL started in 1919. My 2 cents.
I believe it gets hot because it's more metal parts than plastic (aka better quality). And it's heavier because it's metal (better quality). Typical of Wahl products. I am here because I need to buy a new clipper and am eyeing this model. Good review, and good attempt at cutting your own hair. Maybe next time try to fade out the bottom back to mask the mistake lol. But still looks good overall and thanks for this review!
My wahl Ultra close cut pro died so now just ordered this.seems to say that this is hopefully not the weakest of wahl motors in this low price range $50.i use them to shave face ( without attachments) close enough! Lol
I actually don’t think so man. You’re might be broken. Return it and buy another one. It should sound just like how it sounds like in my video. Sorry to hear that
@@nicholasclaytonli I just spent ages trying to to look for what was wrong with it, spoke to amazon customer service (they didnt understand) who insisted I should have a replacement. They are sending it today and I trade mine it for the new one... ...HOWEVER I just found this 😫: "This is quite normal. The motor is electromagnetic and depending on how it catches the flow of electricity, can make a loud noise (similar to a hand clap) when first switched on, but this does not mean the clipper is faulty or unsafe to use." - Wahl www.wahl.co.uk/faqs/when-i-switch-on-my-mains-clipper-it-makes-a-loud-thud-is-this-normal/ So I guess its normal and I just postponed my long overdue haircut from yesterday to this evening lol. @@pablonescafebar6043 Sorry to hear all that issue man. Try out the new one and see if that thing still happens. Hope it doesn't and sound fine. If at the end of the day you think it's too noisy then just return it and get a different one I guess? I don't know haha but I wish you good luck. And good luck with your haircut man! Don't worry if you screw up, hair grows back fast anyway. And don't use the very short clippers right off the bat, maybe leave it for a second time and see. Goodluck!
@@nicholasclaytonli I got the replacement and it sounded a bit smoother with less of a clunk on startup - the delivery guy who was supposed to scan my return and replace QR code basically said I could keep the other one and I wouldn't be charged... so I now have two Wahl Elite Pro for the price of one lol Silver linings, eh?

Nice! Glad to know it lasts that long haha thanks for letting me know!
Is the hair cutter loud?
Yes, a bit
How about the power supply? Does it work on 220 volts too?
120V, 80Hz, 12W

Haha thanks for the feedback and for teaching me. Haha yeah, I will do a better job next time.
Goodluck with your search for a good pair of clippers
I’m in the same boat! Did you end up getting them and what did you think
I think this is great bang for buck, least when i bought it. I saw a markup now so I can’t say anymore. Sorry
Is it vibrating in your hand?
not really lol

Hope it works out for you! Ahh I don’t have facial hair so can’t tell you my experience haha
would it be good to shave legs with?
Just bought one of these and there is a loud clunk followed by the usual vibration, I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not - is that normal?

You did good! I cut my own hair for 20 years before going bald lol. Get some shaver saver spray to cool it.
Lol thanks for the advice
Have anyone tried the cordless one?
No sorry
@@nicholasclaytonli thanks! Great review. In your honest opinion. Would you prefer cord or cordless? Not just this model but in general. Thanks 🙏
@WilliamCh999 thanks! Honestly, i prefer cordless. It’s way more convenient going around your own body without a cord. Hope it helps!
@@nicholasclaytonli helps a lot!
is this ez to fade with?
Yup!
the product: *gives you a hair dressing coat to not have to make you cut shirtless*
him: *cuts shirtless anyways*
Lol..it’s hard to use the hair dressing coat and kind of pointless if i’m at home alone anyway
If you cut your hair with dress ! Your hair gets stuck in your dress like a spike, and the dress is garbage :)

Bro you have no idea how to cut
Lol yaa…was my first time cutting..i said it in the beginning of the video
Lmaooooo
This video is about himself talking and very little about the clippers. 👎
Is the engine much stronger than the $30 Remington HC 5035?
Nooo idea lol
I have been doing home hair cutting for 30 years now, using Whal,Andis and Babyliss, what is the point of the velcro strip.
To hold the cords together better for storage
@dirActor DISCOVERY OK thank you l will use it as l have 2 clippers and 2 trimmers, in a small place.
