I don’t think I could ever do a hypnosis to recover memories because false memories freak me out. They seem so real! I had a head injury that resulted in memory loss but after the accident I believed I remembered what happened leading up to it. It seemed so real in my mind and I believed it was real for months until I found something from the accident that proved it happened a totally different way.

I fundamentally believe in Aliens, the universe is too big for us to be the only living beings, however, there are a lot of stereotypical movie tropes within the Hills story.
Thanks for making this video, it's very informative. I'm also very interested in the alien abduction phenomenon. I've read many of Dr. David Jacobs books and watched some his interviews. I also really like a series of books called "The Allies of Humanity" that helped me connect the dots and make better sense of the extraterrestrial presence that is in our world.

I read a book published in 1966 on this incident and there is no mention in it of Betty talking to her sister about this or discussing it with Pease AFB or the Air Force tracking a UFO that night. I suspect that this has been added over the years to embellish the story. The best explanation I've read is that Barney and Betty experienced hallucinations due to sleep deprivation. They did not have the money to stay in a hotel so had to drive all the way from Montreal through the entirety of New Hampshire in the southeast corner of the state, and simply drove for hours into the wee hours of the morning, until the lack of sleep caught up with them, and had a hallucination, the details of which they didn't remember, but did remember that they couldn't recall what had happened over a period of time when they were in the central mountains of New Hampshire. The psychiatrist helped them put together a fantastic tale (perhaps using Betty's nightmares as a starting point) by suggesting things that might have happened, and so convinced them that it really did happen, when actually the whole thing was a result of sleep deprivation.

This story is so crazy to me. Like, I don’t believe in aliens, but I honestly don’t know what to think about their story. I don’t this they were ACTUALLY abducted by aliens, but I’m interested in knowing what made them believe so. It’s so interesting. Love the way you tell these stories, I freaking love this channel! 😃

Oh really?? Hahaha that's awesome!! It's so good 😁 The recipe I found was from Tasty, and they called it a Black Forest but I'm not sure if it's an actual known drink or just one they made up. The thyme is seriously so good, it's a whole flavor experience because you smell it each time you take a sip! 🤗

Leah! Although I love love LOVE the paranormal, the fact that so many people make up abduction stories* really put me off UFOs along the way. However! Betty and Barney will always be intriguing because it's not like they were falling into some creepypasta type thing that was popular. I've seen astronomy magazines call it a ridiculous story, psychology and medical articles explaining their accounts as fantasy, but whatever happened (or didn't happen), it spawned decades of abduction films and novels.
I don't know if you're interested, and I might've mentioned the podcast site before (theunexplained (dot) tv), but there's an interview with Kathleen Marden on there.
*When I read those magazines about the unexplained as a kid (70s and 80s), there were so many abduction stories that were obviously written for titillation. The female was always "Scandinavian looking", with blonde hair and very attractive, and they were looking to get a human to impregnate them. Haha. Oh dear.
Anyway, I'll never get bored of this case and discussion about it. Their sausage dog was incredibly cute, too!

Right?! Betty said they chatted and joked around lol. I'd be asking them what the secrets are for interdimensional travel and all that lol 🌌
I absolutely believe them and here's my theory why. This happened in 1961 I think, but definitely very early 60's. Betty and Barney were an interracial couple and that was NOT acceptable regardless of how well educated they were or where they lived in the U.S. This was a time when even Sammy Davis Jr. wasn't allowed to stay in the same hotel as Frank Sinatra, even though they appeared on stage together every night. Nor could he eat in a whites only restaurant. African Americans had to use separate water fountains and restrooms. In my humble opinion this couple must have endured so much racism DAILY and I just don't see them purposefully drawing attention to themselves with such a story. As far as inconsistencies in their stories later on it makes perfect sense that these traumatic moments would fade or change if for no other reason than to preserve their sanity.
I know a couple of people who have seen aircrafts in extremely remote areas that they described as UFOS, one being a Baptist preacher who had very strong opinions against the possibility of life outside our universe. He kept his experience to himself until he was older and then had his wife call their grown children and ask them to meet at their home as he wanted to get something off his chest before he died. I happened to be dating his wife's son, his stepson, and I was invited as well. We all sat around the dining table as he cautiously and with tears forming began his story. I should also add that he stopped preaching after about 30 yrs and took a job at the Post Office, and only continued to speak at funerals and weddings, always in a nondenominational setting.
Nobody ever mentions Barney's hypnosis session where he says the beings looked like Germans or Irish people, mentioning their blonde or red hair.

Maybe Betty was starting to mix up her dreams with what really happened. Like in her dream she fought off the alien but in real life she was in a trance.
That's definitely one of the running theories. I can't remember all the details because I did the video quite a few months ago, but I believe one of her psychologists / psychiatrists believed that Betty believed that her and Barney saw something. Whether it was actually an alien ship or some sort of government experimental ship or something else. But he believes that they really saw something, then went home and perhaps Betty had nightmares about it, and those nightmares created false memories of them being taken.

Wanna share your space drink recipe 👀
Of course :)
¾ oz grenadine
1 oz blue curaçao
1 tsp stevia or 1/2 ounce simple syrup
1 ½ oz vodka
¾ oz Lemon juice
Ice
1 small bunch fresh thyme, plus more for garnish
Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Very carefully light the thyme so it starts smoking, then carefully extinguish and place a glass over top so the glass gets infused with the herb. Pour the drink over ice and garnish with fresh thyme 🍹 I found it from Tasty, but changed it a tiny bit!
