How to terminate hornets using cold water in under 5 minutes!

  • House call at a friends house... hornets already stung both homeowners. The hornets had to be relocated quickly before tragedy struck. Skip to 3:45 for nest removal. The soggy hornets were humanely transported to the freezer for a quick painless end.

Ive had this experience with the dreaded ‘White Face Hornets’, you have to kill every one or they will come back and rebuild. Ive had it happen to me, I hit them with raid in the late afternoon and I apparently left a couple of survivors, they rebuilt the empire in one day. You have to hit them at night when all of the hornets are in the nest. After I saw the empire had returned, I hit them again around 9 at night, they all flew out of the hive punch drunk dropping like flies, nothing but bodies in the morning. I hope you got them all because just one will rebuild the entire empire. I agree with Bitwise Magick, take no survivors. LOL

Years ago, after paying an exterminator $100 to spend 5 minutes injecting the nest with terminal powder, I bought a bee-suit of my own and have been knocking down wasp, hornet and bee nests on my own, usually with a $3 can of "hornet killer" from the local drug store. You do it at night, after they're all in the hive in a slumber. You nail the nest and inject that spray right into the nest and the next day you're good to tear it down. At worst, you have to do it a 2nd time. Saves a lot of time and money, not to mention water damage, fire damage (for those who burn them), etc...

Does NOT "terminate" the hornet or wasps, it just relocates them to the floor or ground while wet and they are PISSED. They dry and can fly withing a few seconds so you better be close to a door. This DOES however eliminate their nest, which gives them nowhere to go but to YOUR house for a couple days...

I guess that woulda been funny, but, since they crept up, built a nest, invaded space, and became a general nuisance to the public, after yelling INCOMING at 'em, I'd of been screaming DEATH TO ALL OF YOU LITTLE STINGERS, as I sprayed 'em with the foamiest Wasp and Hornet Killer that money could buy!!!

Wonder how this would work with a pressure washer. Good Idea. Better than using pesticide.

I wouldn't try this. 100% this nest wasn't that many of them in there. If u have one that has a lot of hornets it could go bad fast

Why do you all talk about Wasps when the Topic is Hornets ? Hornets are not Wasps ! Hornets are bigger than Wasps , true ?

Here it is : Spray/SOAK the nest with
hornet spray at night when all or most are inside, wait til morning.
Look at it, no activity. { if not sure } spray again, but usually not
necessary. Knock the nest off from where it is attached ; a lot less
messy, other hornets don't stray & build somewhere else near by.
Put it in a plastic bag or wait til completely dry, dissect it for
    show & tell.

I just had a nest half this size. I hit em w 3 cans of hornet spray in 2 days time and then sprayed em w water hose for about 10 mins. The next day they were back rebuilding. Very persistent!!

I have one hornet that started a small nest, and the day I was outside he flew away and came back with his Queen! Boy was she big! So I waited and watch them too go in to this small nest then I took the water hose and sprayed it until I seen her fall to the ground them I stepped on her and the the work that built the nest fell out and I never seen any more hornets around my house!

You should wait until it's dark & they will all be in & that the time to deal with them because bees don't fly after dark
