I think the only useful feature missing is some memory channels. Other than that it is a great rig

Check out eBay France for a president Lincoln, it might be cheaper there

you are right. This is the best CB radio I have owned. In SSB it makes the job but AM is not very good in RX. 73

I always wanted the lincoln back in the day getting into ssb radios it was the cobra 148 and ham international concorde 2 that my friends and i were using. Then one friend got the lincoln and it was wow look at that lol. I picked up a 2510 a few months ago in good shape .There seems to be a good few versions of the mk1 .Had great conditions on ssb lately to put the radio to the test and it works a treat

I like mine and as you say most SSB breakers around here had the cobra or superstar with odd ones having the higain 5 me and a few others friends had the jumbo.
I actually went to the shop to buy the Lincoln and came home with the Albrecht 485s which was a bit of a come down now.

These radios are very well made and they sure are for keeps. I do have the HR2510 and works great. Have made a lot of contacts with it around the world with no linear amp at only 20 watts. I turned the power down internally so the finals would last a lot longer since those parts are hard to find now a days.

Time has been very good to the Lincoln after all these years it's still very well regarded by owners new and old.

I have the mark 1 and mark 2+ rev 3 model..
I wanted a mark 1 for years and bought one last year I still have it.. after wanting one for many years I was disappointed with it. I think way back then it was a good radio compared to others at the time, but compared to modern day export models like the latest president Lincoln and McKinley both of those outperform the mark 1 hands down with options and frequency coverage..
Also I get the nostalgic thing with people saying they are an iconic radio and work well but I have to say from my own personal experience it truly does under perform in comparison to presidents latest offerings.. I had mine serviced so I know it is working well but still lazy on reception and still sounds awful with the reception tone
I don't like it's tone with receive either it's very trebly and sounds awful with its own speaker. But better on an extension speaker.. it's a nice enough radio but mine is going up for sale soon.. given the choice and using both I much prefer the latest mark 2+ rev 3..
Just my own honest opinion and I do know these are a much loved radio but not for me.

Back in around 2000 I went to the CB shop with great hope of buying a ss3900 but I seem the Lincoln as well and I just went awe I really want one but the guys in the shop said it wasn't that great and I would be better off with the Albrecht AE485s as it preformed much better than the Lincoln and ss3900.
So I bought the Albrecht and at the time I didn't regret my purchase and still think it is a good rig.
Next week I think I will try out my alinco dr135uk and see how she goes.
One thing I hate about the Lincoln is the coloured buttons why weren't they all grey

@@lambrettadave7 the Albrecht are good radios and very underestimated.. if the guys in the shop said they wasn't as good as the Albrecht they had also seen the difference in performance I guess.. tbh I don't know why they had the different colours for the push buttons maybe they wanted some colour on them to make them stand out.. some folks absolutely love them but again when compared to many radios there's no way they are better.. the reception is scratchy and lazy too.. the one I bought was new in box and had never been messed with so i thought it just needed a service but it was no different when I got it back even the tech said it was spot on after being in the box for thirty years.. I don't know it's just not what I thought it would be especially after hearing and reading everything about them but they do sound really nice on air with the stock mic.
Looking forward to the DR135uk review. Thanks
