    Don't have a home lower than the road. Even if you see 100 homes like that, buy someplace else.

    Why we need flood insurance? Well now you know why and so did the builder as well as the seller. Good luck collecting . I see it here all the time in Florida the insurance company will pay - eventually - but it is out of your pocket now and they will only pay what they think it costs - usually NOT what it actually costs

    The insurance does not pay everything. Like when a pipe broke and flooded our house , the insurance said the pipe was not inside the house but it was part of it . Portion of it was going to the city’s pipe to the isle . What happened was the lemon tree’s roots wrapped its roots around the pipe and cut it . Instead of the water going out the house , it was coming in and flooded the house. Two bedrooms and a bathroom were flooded. Then they had to destroy the cemented floor of the patio because they had to dig out the pipe and replaced it. The insurance didn’t pay not even a single cent for the bed spreads and other possessions that were destroyed. I had to replace the carpet with tiles . Unfortunately everything came out from my pocket. That’s how bad other insurances are. They just want your money. So greedy and useless.

      Placerville is on the American River, which feeds Folsom reservoir. It would be nice if we had room enough for all the extra water, when we do get it. Like the song once said, "It never rains in California, but it pours...Man it pours."

    • @eh3477
      @eh3477 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@photonjones5908 There's plenty of room in Folsom reservoir, which has been well below normal levels. First, the rain has to flow into creeks, rivers, watersheds... and a lot of it will get to Folsom. But for the short term, it's raining too fast and roadways, creeks, etc., are inundated because they can't drain faster than the rain is falling.

Just this past year Death Valley was closed for three or so months while they fixed flood damage. And th3y just finished reoairs on Scottys castle from damage a few years ago. And last year NDOT had to come out with backhoes and scrape mud and gravel off of main roads in front of WalMart because they flooded, including parts of the parking lot.
