 Petra was a major trading hub from the 4th century BCE to the 2nd century CE. Its strategic location along ancient trade routes made it a melting pot of cultures and commerce.
 Petra was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 due to its cultural and historical significance.
 Today, Petra is one of Jordan's most popular tourist attractions and continues to be a symbol of the country’s rich heritage.
