good low-budget midi to start, it was also my first midi keyboard and I've learned a lot with it. but it has a terrible durability. after one year of use two white keys snapped off. I definitely don't recommend it, it is preferable to save a little more money and buy something with a better construction. besides, the pads have never convinced me, they are too hard to press. anyway, good video, those were my first impressions too!

If you are gonna start making music seriously I suggest to begin learning basic music theory. For example some scales chords and which ones work tomheter and why they work togheter.
I have the same model, and while I agree it's a good starter controller. As someone who's use to synth and piano keys, I find this is a bit harder to press and when playing chords it has even more resistance, which makes the velocity harder to control. If it's your only controller, though, you won't have to adjust to how you use it. I ended up getting another 25-key controller for $109 that matches the feel of my Yamaha Motif much better.
@Xbox Won It'll work, but where it accels is Ableton Live. Also if you have any MIDI synths or modules, it has MIDI out too. It's plug and play with Ableton, but it has custom modes too, would need use Novation's utility to customize it to your liking. 8 pads and 8 knobs, as well as pitch and mod "wheels" (touch strips) It also has a very complete arpeggio function and chord mode. It manages to be smaller than the Mini Panda too.

The problem a lot of midi keyboard like Novation MK3, Akai Mini MPK, or Arturia Minilab mk2 are sold out now due to virus lockdown and music stores in my country told me they didnt know when the next shipping will be. You should give the theremin a try. While it might be a little more expensive than what you normally go for, you might consider trying the Burns handheld theremin since it doesn't need an external amplifier and is as basic as a theremin can get without sacrificing too much on quality.

This was my FIRST midi controller, I still have it and it's been over 4 years. I don't use it currently at all but it's pretty decent! Worth it to get the feet wet
are the keys stiff? and also how hard do you need to press them to get a decent note? i know you can change that somewhere in the keyboards settings, im looking forward to buying it
Mr.Kovačić ツ It depends how much do you want to spend, it’s a cheap option to begin, and maybe you will not need more in the future. The VST pluggins are the same, no matter what midi controller do you have. It’s just like a pc’s mouse. The vst instruments have all the functions you need. But if you want to perform live, maybe you need a bigger midi keyboard. It was my first midi controller, and so far, I don’t feel the need to buy another one.
I was comparing this to the akai mini (I or II). Was wondering if theyre both basicslly built the same just from diffrent companies? Ik the akai has the toggle which is the only difference. Looking to use it just to load and play samples. Thanks for the help

Using the App or Google Chrome (It's the only browser can support midi), just plug the controller and then go to midi config in config tab, and select your controller.
Working on our first single, and it's pretty awful.
