  • This is an interesting story about an adrenaline enthusiast who commissioned the rebuilding of a car with a 27-liter Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, which was originally used to power aircraft in World War II. The engine was modified for "fast road competition" use and produces over 800 horsepower and 1500 pound-feet of torque. The car has achieved impressive speeds, including 111 mph over a standing quarter-mile and a top speed of 160 mph. The car is also notable for its unique features, including wheels with Dunlop 700-19 race tires and gauges taken from vintage aircraft. The car's fuel tank comes from a D.H. Rapide Biplane, and its oil tank is from a Fairey Firefly. The car's overall condition is superb despite having covered only 1849 miles since its completion over a decade ago.

Simply great. I think larger wheels would help the car look even more vintage.
