My father lived there for almost a year in a Cambridge-related/linked school in London and absolutely loved it in the late 60s. He even remembers his old metro stations, Elephant and Castle I presume, which took around 20 mins to get him to school on Oxford Street.
He had never had a single problem there and lived in an Irish/English family house, i believe the landlord was an ex-policeman and gave my dad a few pieces of advises, well I think now London is way different from the '60s, but the same essence is there.
I love the high rises, but please try to keep them away from the center and away from Historical buildings, Canary wharf is already too close(and the Shard too)
