Readily available cask strength/barrel proof bourbons are my favorite “category” of bourbons. I’m not one to hunt or collect. I just like a great quality pour every once in a while. JD SBBP, Chattanooga 111, Makers Cask Strength and Rare Breed are staples on my bar.
You went three in a row, the JD single barrel, Green Fiver Full Proof, and Benchmark Full Proof are 3 of my Go To's, also love the Makers Cask. New Riff Single Barrel is pretty great too, as is the Knob Creek Full Proof, and Rare Breed is just killer. Have to give my nod to JD Single Barrel.
I am happy to have 9 of these and will definitely look for the rest. Thanks for your input. I do value your recommendations and look forward to your new releases as they come.
Someone help me out. Does that redwood empire cask strength taste VERY similar to rare breed? I keep getting that distinct turkey taste but I don’t know if my minds playing tricks on me.
Got my 1st J.E. Pepper decanter last week, I cracked it, haven't had a pour yet. Hoping to p/u my 1st ECBP and or Larceny BP soon. I gotta rec Tumblin' Dice SB store picks look for the 6 or 7 year bottles. They have an 8 year rye but I've never seen one...yet. P/U 2 WTRB's for $45 each last month.

JT Meleck Cask Strength!!!! My local grocer had Makers Mark Cask Strength on sale about a month ago for $15.99 a bottle Needless to say picked up 2
James E Pepper is such a sleeper and such a great introductory whiskey for someone wanting to step up their bourbon game
I actually have access to 2 unopened smoke wagon uncut unfiltered batch 79’s.
Do it!

Got all of them and like them. I also like Smokeye Hill Barrel Proof and Boulder Spirits Cask Strength. 🥃
Great list
The wheat blind would be a good one. As for ECBP, I have seen a lot more of them this year
Can't wait for the Green River Cask Proof pick. 😅 Cheers 🥃
For one to consider adding, Larceny BP sits on shelves pretty consistently here in VA.
Did I miss the Still Austin Musician Cask Strength?
