    Thank you Eric for this video 👍. I was having concerns over the 2:1 vs 1:1 set up, plus whether the two handles being close to each other would allow me to comfortably do flies etc. You've put my mind at ease. Continue to enjoy and please do a 6-month review on it.

    I recently purchased this tower and I am EXTREMELY happy with the quality and functionality. Worth every penny I spent. My only concern is stretching of the cables which are lighter than cables that you would find on commercial equipment - I might order some spares. I was shipped 9 pieces but only 8 showed up. I contacted Bells of Steel and they immediately shipped a replacement. Very happy with their service so far. I looked around for 2 years to find a small cable machine for home, I am glad I waited and now have this device at home. The action is very smooth.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH. This is exactly what I was trying to find, whether it becomes 1:1 when you use both cables. No other video answered this. Was trying to figure out what compact gym set up to make in my garage and I didn't want to have to buy a whole lat pulldown/low row tower, especially cuz I wanted to do cable flys, too. Amazon offers a 250lb option. Now that I'm older, I don't need to row heavier than that. Perfect.

    You just need to buy a metal banana clip connector. Glad you mentioned this, as I plan to buy one of these in the future and now I’ll know I need to buy a banana clip.

  • @carps_gym
    @carps_gym ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You can also use a banana clip attachment to combine the two pulleys to get a 1 to 1 ratio and the cable won’t rub

    Thank you for this great video! Btw if you want to use both handles at the same time and avoid cables rubbing against the metal edges, I would recommend checking the pro D handle bar or the lite D handle bar, both from Gym Pin.

    Nice review. I was wondering how do cable flies feel on this machine and whether or not you can do rear delt cable flies on it? Also how far does the cable travel? Would it be enough to do do some resistance running/walking?

    • @GullyWarsh
      @GullyWarsh  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Flies feel better than I imagined they would. If you use the included handles that come with the machine in the longest available loop, the strap isn’t in the way at all really. Rear delt flies are even better because the strap is a total non-issue. Cable travel is only 44 inches if using both cables. It is 88 inches if you only use one.

    Thanks for the video, I'm trying to decide between these and the functional trainer that's offered on the BOS website. My main concern with the functional trainer is that it only goes up to 160 pounds, so hearing that these go up to 210 is very interesting. Also I have a hydra rack at home, is it possible that I could set a couple of these up in front of it?

    • @GullyWarsh
      @GullyWarsh  ปีที่แล้ว

      This tower is great! No regrets. I’m unsure on the attachment to that rack. I know they offer a version that connects to a rack but I’m not familiar with compatibility.

    Are you able to adjust the distance of the mounting grommet from the machine to the wall to account for the offset caused by your baseboard? Or is it set in place?

  • @TruthSee-Ker
    @TruthSee-Ker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for the video! I just ordered the stack tower stand version of this which is two separate towers attached with a pull up bar so it becomes a squat rack as well. Not sure if you have seen that or not. I can let you know how I like it when it finally arrives. You could eventually add a second tower if desired. Quick question, when you’re doing Kat pull downs how are you holding your thighs down?

    • @GullyWarsh
      @GullyWarsh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea! That unit looks awesome. I’ve used a kettlebell to help hold my thighs down but I prefer to use my 80lb sandbag. Works great!

      @eric Balmes how do you like the double cable tower so far? I am thinking about buying the same thing. And positives and negatives you can give me? Thanks

    • @TruthSee-Ker
      @TruthSee-Ker ปีที่แล้ว

      @Chris T I'm loving them! Positives: great value, well built, smooth, versatile, and small footprint for the overall size. Really my only con is that they aren't taller. I'm 6'1 and the pullup bar is pretty useless for me. Also for me to do lat pull downs I have to sit on the ground, which isn't a big deal but should be noted. My advice would be to absolutely get the rear uprights on them and get the the jammer arms. The uprights allow you to mount them to the floor anywhere you want and act as great storage for spotter arms, j cups, jammer arms etc.

    • @christ1808
      @christ1808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TruthSee-Ker ok great man thanks for the reply. Appreciate that. Trying to do my research before I drop a few grand haha. Thanks for the info on the rear uprights. I was totally wondering about those and if they were actually needed or not. Sounds like they may be helpful for storage purposes.

  • @christ1808
    @christ1808 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are you still happy with this purchase? I’m thinking about buying the version on their website that has two of these, connected with a pull-up bar in the middle. Th way it would also mimic as a squat rack and a place to do bench press and barbell movements. I have very limited space so this may be my best option. Thanks!

    Hey Sam, Thanks so much for the great review. It was really helpful! One question, did you ever bolt the machine down to the floor or wall? If not, is it stable enough without having to do that? Thanks again!

    • @GullyWarsh
      @GullyWarsh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I have not bolted it to the wall because it would require a certain amount of disassembly and I’ve just been lazy with it haha. I have come up with an alternative method of anchoring which won’t require taking anything apart, though. I am going to secure a heavy duty eye bolt to a wall stud and then tie it off with 550 paracord just as a safety. It doesn’t need to hold a ton of weight as it will just prevent it from tipping. I’ve only noticed it try to tip over with one exercise variation. I had the pulley secured all the way at the top and was performing heavy ab contractions at ground level and it tried to pull forward on me. Luckily my buddy was there to catch it. Stay safe!

      Agreed! I have been eyeing this machine for a few weeks now. My only hesitation has been the advertised need to bolt to the floor or wall for stability. I hate to drill holes in my garage floor (esp bc I already have wall-to-wall rubber flooring laid down, and between windows, circuit breaker boxes, doors, mirrors, outlets, etc, I have very limited real estate space left on the walls to be able to mount to. I am considering ordering this regardless, and hoping it is stable enough as a standalone. I do have lots of real estate on the ceiling so I am curious if mounting to ceiling, that would also be enough to stablize this machine and prevent tipping. @@gx12

    Hi Sam, I am looking to purchase this system but am very confused with the 3 options they are offering because all the diagrams look the same. !. Cable Tower with Weight STack $1430. 2. Cable tower with back upright $2200. 3. Cable system with weighted stack $2200.
    I want the stacked weight and the back stabilizer bar. Can you offer any insitght?

    • @GullyWarsh

      Approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours with two people. My buddy who helped me came into the project roughly halfway through completion. It’s a simple process if you are handy. There are certain components of the build that two sets of hands really help out with but it’s not 100% necessary. Two people significantly speed up the process though.
