I quick tip: When placing the spell name...if you open your spell book with the macro open and the cursor blinking on the macro line...shift click the spell name and it will auto add so you will have the correct spell name every time.
So, I use GSE(gnome sequence editor or something close to it) which is an addon for in depth macro control, allowing you to set variables for when you press the key, release the key, the main macro body, as well as pre macro and post macro sections as well mine is set up where on keypress it will go through all of this: /targetenemy [noharm] /petattack [pet,harm] /petassist [pet,harm] /petpassive [noharm] /startattack [nocombat] /cast [combat,pet] Dash /cast [combat,pet] Feast; [combat,pet] Growl; [combat,pet] Monstrous Bite; [combat,pet] Bite /castsequence [nochanneling,nopet,nodead] reset=target/combat Call Pet 1, Mend Pet; [nochanneling,@pet,dead] Mend Pet so it will target an enemy, make sure i have my pet summoned, and revive it if its dead, as well as tell the pet to attack it, and by adding in the pet skills it actually gets the pet to cast its skills on cooldown, and if you accidentally press it and target a far off enemy, if you aren't actually in range to attack it and start combat, your pets wont run off without you. and this is the main macro(which is basically what you can do in /m, but this lets you do waaaay more): /cast [@mouseover,exists,harm][] Kill Shot /cancelaura Aspect of the Turtle /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Aspect of the Wild /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Bestial Wrath /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Flayed Shot /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Kill Shot /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Mend Pet /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Kill Command /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists,pet] Intimidation /cast [nochanneling,combat,exists] Barbed Shot /cast [nochanneling,mod:alt,exists] Multi-Shot; [nochanneling] Cobra Shot /cast [nochanneling,mod:alt,exists] Multi-Shot; [nochanneling,combat] Arcane Shot so this will auto cancel turtle if it is up to allow you to begin attacking again, and it will basically try to run through all your DPS skills in order of focus/CDs, by holding alt it will do multishot for AOE, and it utilizes the kill shot mouseover that was referenced in the video and the last section i use currently is the key release section: /castsequence [nochanneling,exists] reset=target Hunter's Mark, null /cast [@mouseover,exists,harm][] Kill Shot which applies hunters mark on the target, but only once per target, and the reason its set to a sequence is so it wont cast over and over, the "null" variable tells the system to move on to the next line, which i have the same kill shot mouseover command for good measure so its guaranteed an instant shot on a mouseover. oh, and a bit about the way that GSE works is that instead of it essentially trying to cast the whole macro on 1 press, it will move from line to line on each press trying to do anything it can in the order written, but the next keypress will tell it to do this process again, but instead of failing when it encounters "this spell is not ready yet" etc, it just moves on to the next line and repeats. im still a HUUUUGE noob with this thing, but basically i can do all my DPS on 1 button, and have my CC stuff, traps, and movement skills on easy keybinds since i have so many skills lumped in to this one macro, i only use around 20 keys on my action bar which makes it a super simple gameplay experience, which could be seen as boring for some, but personally i play for hours and hours and hours, and my hands start to seriously hurt if i have to constantly press every key on my keyboard/mouse.
If you put #showtooltip you can just choose the first question mark icon and it will automatically update the icon to the spell. You can also do something like #showtooltip Disengage /cast feign death; /cast disengage and that will show the disengage icon and cool down even though feign death shows up first

I like to use feign death and play dead in the same macro to remove agro cuz it’s a pain in the ass when I’m tryina get out of combat and my pet is still attacking my target. Also throw in wake up in there cuz ur pets won’t follow u unless u do so. Click button once to remove agro, click it again to leave. Saves so much time when trying to skip packs of trash or if u underestimate that one elite mob and tried to solo it lol.

This guide is good for players who know what you are talking about but for beginners they just don't have any clue what you are saying. You are going to fast over how to make a macro and by not showing them they just don't understand where to put that text or what to do with it.
/castsequence reset=10 Bestial Wrath, Bloodshed /cast Aspect of the Beast /use 13 /use 14 When pressed, this will cast Bestial Wrath, Aspect of the Beast and your 1st on-use trinket, then switch to Bloodshed. This will also cast Aspect of the Beast and any on-use trinket even if the attacks in the sequence portion aren't off cool down. There's no need to use your [@focus] on the tank for Misdirect when [@focus] is so useful for interrupting a focus target. Instead of using [@focus] , you should use [@party1] and make the tank the leader of the group.
And macros are not written in any coding language. They are just text commands that use the exposed built-in macro api. if you use #show or #showtooltip you don't need to select the specific icon, just select the ? icon. Also ~ #showtooltip /cast [@pet,nogroup,exsists,nodead][@focus,group,exists,nodead][] Misdirection
Having this macrod into all your basic attack buttons is a dps increase especially for BM. The pet AI is 30% slower at reacting at autocasting its abilities than when the cooldowns come up. They should still be set to autocast but having this macro in your attack rotation abilities will increase the pet dps. This has been a thing since vanilla and continues to be a thing.
Macro is "/cast Claw /cast Bite /cast Smack" each on a separate line (youtube is being weird about me putting / at the start so I cant format it correctly)

I actually use two for cursor and player, but I have freezing trap and sticky tar trap on each. /use [@cursor] sticky tar trap [mod:alt, @cursor] freezing trap /[@player] freezing trap [mod:alt, @player] sticky tar trap I use the same for Flare, though I have an addition mod for @target so I can drop it before a rogue goes into stealth. It helps be a little more precise in PVP. Another I use, mainly for PvP, is (but I think I have this one on an addon, but the core can be trimmed out). It has a lot going on for a button, but it works out in non-arena. /cast [@target, exists, harm; @focus] freezing trap (or sticky tar trap) /castsequence [reset: target] aspect of the turtle; (whatever the hunter heal is called now), disengage; [potion]; mending bandage;

Make sure you pull the macro'd version of the spell out of your actual macro menu, not your spellbook. It wont actually alter the original spell 😋 if thats not the problem just double check the spelling, I have them all written correctly in the description 🤙
"Use" consists from 3 letters, "cast" has 4 ones. Length of macros is not endless; sometimes it's important (for big macroses). But they work absolutely identically.

I think you can just use /cast Kill Shot /cast Mongoose Bite Haven't played in a while but in pretty sure if the first spell isn't ready to cast it'll default to the next line
The only thing I hate and the error in thought can be on my part of course is when lots of these macro guides do only 1 thing. The whole idea is to combine to do many thing with one key press so if any macro's being shown to do 1 thing is being made then it is worthless.
If its a targeting macro or one that alters ONE spell, only one key press is required. But if the macro has multiple functions you have to press it multiple times, it will activate one function after another. Blizzard changed this a while back because people would put their whole dmg rotation on one button. You still can do that, but they were like "okay these motherfuckers wanna do this? Were at least gonna make em press they key multiple times" lol
brow i tamed the pet in the intro and it does this weird thing were it hits from range and when i use stomp with my pets it dosent hit beocuse it like hitting from far away .. do you also have the same problem with that bird? even tamed the red one aswell but the same thing happent ?
I know kill command will hit from range but I think for intimidation your pet needs to be within melee range of the target. Haven't had any issues with the fel raven

It should work just like that. Keep in mind that if one of the abilities is on cool down it'll only cast the other one. And if they're both up you gotta press the key twice to proc both. Other than that you might have an unnoticed "space" key in your macro or something 🤷♂️

I wouldn't recommend macroing barbed shot personally. Normally, with a spam dps spell like barbed shot or cobra shot, you could macro a /pet attack with it to make sure your pet follows your target. But, since barbed shot is a dot spell, I'd leave it as it is. That way you can send your pet after one target, then bleed the whole crowd while maintaining pet pressure on your original target. Otherwise your pet would be bouncing around between targets as you cast barbed shot, resulting in a dps loss. Short answer: I wouldn't set up a macro for it at all
So when you showed the first two example macros together do I choose one vs the other? I thought you were saying put these on the same button but that doesn't seem to work.
Those are 2 separate macros, one casts countershot on your focus, the other casts on your mouseover. You wanna choose one based on your preference/playstyle. Hope that helps! 👌
Can you add hunters mark on kill command, have it cast mark if not mark but not recast it again, basically just trying to remove mark from button to press but don't want it casting again if there is no need too. If it even matters game is down but I don't know if mark takes any time away if just recasting it.
Yes, you'll have to press the button twice tho. First click will cast HM, after that KC will proc. Only bad thing would be if you need to swap targets and do some quick damage
@@xBLUMONKEY Thanks for getting back to me. I don't know how to write macros so they work, how do I get it to nocast mark if one is there. On the same idea is there a way to auto mark a person who has sprung a tar trap or a explosive trap. Purely for druids and rogues, I spend a lot of time defending in BGs getting them to pop a trap and auto or focus set. Maybe asking to much. :)
I find those two classes are the ones I have the hardest time with, so don't mind dealing a little less damage but if I can hunt down rogues all day I would be happy hunter.
dude i make the macro for freezing trap but still when my cursor is in the place i want to put the freezing trap when u hit the shift-e to put the trap i cant put it and still need to press the click from my mouse why?
Not sure, you'd have to send me EXACTLY how you have the macro written down and maybe I could figure it out. Make sure all capital, lowercase, and punctuation is correct. I have it to copy and paste in the description. If that's exactly how you have it I'm not sure....

I've never seen a "nochanneling" macro before, but after some research for you I THINK I figured it out. Assuming you want rapid fire to proc first, then arcane shot, it should look like: #showtooltip Arcane Shot /cast Rapid Fire /cast [nochanneling: Rapid Fire] Arcane Shot
Is there a way to rez pets if they die during combat without having to click on the rez pet button? as in is there a way to macro it into a button that i can click mend pet/rez pet etc to keep my pet downtime as little as possible?
I'm assuming you're using the pulldown menu and then clicking mend pet, right? Best thing to do is open your spellbook, click the "pet utility" button, and then pull the singled out "mend pet" ability to your actionbars. Make sure you check your pets spellbook too (only there when your pets summoned.) They may have a slow or debuff ability that you can put on your actionbar as well
@@xBLUMONKEY yeah I've already done that, just wondering if there's a way to put maybe say Res pet and Mend pet together in 1 button, I actually remember seeing this happen for me, as in the button is mend pet when the pet is alive, but becomes res pet when my pet died.
I use an add on that tells me if my pet is dead or if it is not summoned with an icon that you click. It pops up on your screen where you place it. I cannot remember the name of the add on right now because I am not home but maybe blue will do in video on add ons next.
@@chinaman1 this is already in the game. If you out mend pet on your bar, it will automatically change to revive pet if your pet is dead. No Macro needed

i made this one for the tar trap legendary #showtooltip /use [nomod,@cursor]Tar Trap;[mod:shift,@cursor]Flare so you just use the spell first to launch the tar trap at the cursor and the click the spell again while holding shift and it fires the flare also at the cursor. you can leave the @cursor part out if you want the green circle ofc

I'm thinking you're talking about the pet not mount, but the intro pet is the corrupted dread raven, tameable in hellfire citadel. The first mount tho is the hearthsteed, you get it by getting a certain level I'm hearthstone

It should work just like that. Keep in mind that if one of the abilities is on cool down it'll only cast the other one. And if they're both up you gotta press the key twice to proc both. Other than that you might have an unnoticed "space" key in your macro or something 🤷♂️

Not really... you could macro all your opener spells but your rotation will change depending on the situation.

I wouldn't recommend macroing barbed shot personally. Normally, with a spam dps spell like barbed shot or cobra shot, you could macro a /pet attack with it to make sure your pet follows your target. But, since barbed shot is a dot spell, I'd leave it as it is. That way you can send your pet after one target, then bleed the whole crowd while maintaining pet pressure on your original target. Otherwise your pet would be bouncing around between targets as you cast barbed shot, resulting in a dps loss. Short answer: I wouldn't set up a macro for it at all

Those are 2 separate macros, one casts countershot on your focus, the other casts on your mouseover. You wanna choose one based on your preference/playstyle. Hope that helps! 👌

Can you add hunters mark on kill command, have it cast mark if not mark but not recast it again, basically just trying to remove mark from button to press but don't want it casting again if there is no need too. If it even matters game is down but I don't know if mark takes any time away if just recasting it.
Yes, you'll have to press the button twice tho. First click will cast HM, after that KC will proc. Only bad thing would be if you need to swap targets and do some quick damage
@@xBLUMONKEY Thanks for getting back to me. I don't know how to write macros so they work, how do I get it to nocast mark if one is there. On the same idea is there a way to auto mark a person who has sprung a tar trap or a explosive trap. Purely for druids and rogues, I spend a lot of time defending in BGs getting them to pop a trap and auto or focus set. Maybe asking to much. :)
I find those two classes are the ones I have the hardest time with, so don't mind dealing a little less damage but if I can hunt down rogues all day I would be happy hunter.

I don't think you can do at target for AOEs but you should be able to do at cursor or at player

dude i make the macro for freezing trap but still when my cursor is in the place i want to put the freezing trap when u hit the shift-e to put the trap i cant put it and still need to press the click from my mouse why?
Not sure, you'd have to send me EXACTLY how you have the macro written down and maybe I could figure it out. Make sure all capital, lowercase, and punctuation is correct. I have it to copy and paste in the description. If that's exactly how you have it I'm not sure....

howdy folks.....maybe someone here can help. I've been trying to figure out the syntax for the kyrian ability...resonating arrows. I've been trying to write one that has it cast on target...but i cant seem to get it to work. For reasons i wont go into, i wanna have on target instead of on mouse or mouseover. Has anyone made one like that yet?
You can't @target with a ground targeting spell. Same goes for traps, flare, etc

I've never seen a "nochanneling" macro before, but after some research for you I THINK I figured it out. Assuming you want rapid fire to proc first, then arcane shot, it should look like:

/cast Rapid Fire
/cast [nochanneling: Rapid Fire] Arcane Shot
All your macro was doing was telling arcane shot NOT to proc if rapid fire was being channeled. But it didnt actually tell rapid fire to proc first

Is there a way to rez pets if they die during combat without having to click on the rez pet button? as in is there a way to macro it into a button that i can click mend pet/rez pet etc to keep my pet downtime as little as possible?
I'm assuming you're using the pulldown menu and then clicking mend pet, right? Best thing to do is open your spellbook, click the "pet utility" button, and then pull the singled out "mend pet" ability to your actionbars. Make sure you check your pets spellbook too (only there when your pets summoned.) They may have a slow or debuff ability that you can put on your actionbar as well
@@xBLUMONKEY yeah I've already done that, just wondering if there's a way to put maybe say Res pet and Mend pet together in 1 button, I actually remember seeing this happen for me, as in the button is mend pet when the pet is alive, but becomes res pet when my pet died.
I use an add on that tells me if my pet is dead or if it is not summoned with an icon that you click. It pops up on your screen where you place it. I cannot remember the name of the add on right now because I am not home but maybe blue will do in video on add ons next.
@@chinaman1 this is already in the game. If you out mend pet on your bar, it will automatically change to revive pet if your pet is dead. No Macro needed

I'm thinking you're talking about the pet not mount, but the intro pet is the corrupted dread raven, tameable in hellfire citadel. The first mount tho is the hearthsteed, you get it by getting a certain level I'm hearthstone
