good stuff, the process is even simpler now with this whole covid thing. took about 2 months for an interview date after submitting my application which is through zoom now. completed my ccw class and livescan and had all the documents uploaded and ready for the interview which was about 40 minutes and 2 months after that my ccw permit was in the mail. one of the proudest days of my life considering how difficult it is to get one in most of this state.

Awesome congratulations. I made an update video with the rona process and zoom call but at that time I heard the available interviews were backed up for 3-4 months from the day you submitted your application. That great to hear they have shortened that time gap again.
Stay safe and stay sharp on your training because “If you stay ready, You don’t have to get ready”!

In San Diego County you must be approved for your CCW before taking the required CCW class. You must show the instructor you approval letter in order to take the course.

mcpojack I thought i had to do the same thing but in OC my investor told me I could have taken the classes and Live scan first and would of received my license same day.

When doing the classes and getting certified for each firearm do you have to own them? Be registered in my name? Or can I rent one or borrow some to have more on my list. Then buy later?

    • @RobMob
      @RobMob  4 ปีที่แล้ว

mcj john the firearm certification has to be done with the firearm you own and is registered to you. I believe one of the newest 2020 updates to OC is that you can also carry your spouses registered firearm.

Joshua Leon they have 90days to give you an answer but It all depends on your investigators work load if you get approved sooner. Expect a call pretty soon if your almost at 90days.

Ilir Cami the sheriff department CCW unit will assign you a investigating agent (IA) that does your background check and check your paper work followed by conducting your interview.

Ilir Cami for OC class was $200+, Live Scan is about $115 and now $170 for the licensing fee. I used Even’s Gun World in Anaheim for both my Class and Live Scan. Great class

Here's the Supreme Court's own, oft referenced, definition of "to bear arms", to wit: “… to ‘wear, bear, or carry upon the person OR IN THE CLOTHING OR IN A POCKET, for the purpose of being armed and ready for offensive or defensive action in a case of conflict with another person.’ ” Heller v. D.C., 554 U. S., at 584 (quoting Muscarello v. United States, 524 U. S. 125,143 (1998) (Ginsburg, J., dissenting); alterations and some internal quotation marks omitted) [EMPHASIS MINE]
The 14th Amendment to the COTUS states, in part,: "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall ABRIDGE the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; ..."
(EMPHASIS MINE) (a right is an immunity because when you have a RIGHT to do something, you have lawful immunity from prosecution for so doing). Why are you people asking permission to exercise fundamental rights the COTUS puts OUTSIDE the LAWFUL SUBJECT MATTER JURISDICTION of any government in the Republic, e.g. "shall not be infringed" (that's a legal INJUNCTION against any level of government or government actor throughout the Republic - further strengthened by the aforementioned quote from the 14th Amendment!)? Re. CRIMINAL: 18 USC 241, 242; CIVIL: 42 USC 1983, 1985 ,1986. Unlawful government actors cannot lawfully enjoy immunity! Other applicable legal definitions:
ARMS: “Weapons of offence, or armour of defence.” ; ANY THING that a man wears for his defence, or takes into his hands, or useth in wrath to cast at or strike another.” “Instruments of offence generally made use of in war,” even that source stated that all firearms constituted “arms.” (sic) (Taken from the Heller v. D.C. Opinion, No. 07-290, June 2008) (EMPHASIS MINE)
Shall not be infringed: Absolutely forbidden to violate
INFRINGE: actively break the terms of a law, agreement, etc.; contravene, violate, transgress, break, breach; disobey, defy, flout, fly in the face of; disregard, ignore, neglect; go beyond, overstep, exceed; infract; act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on, restrict, limit, curb, check; undermine, erode, diminish, weaken, impair, damage, compromise, REGULATE WITHOUT LAWFUL POWER, as in, "The statute infringes constitutionally guaranteed rights."
ABRIDGE: to reduce the effect of a law, privilege or power. In a generic sense the term “abridge” means to cut short. For example, to make an abridged copy of a book means to reduce the number of words in a book without affecting the quality or substance of the book. In a legal context, the term is generally used to explain taking away or restricting some existing right of a person such as abridging the right to vote; v. To diminish, lessen, or restrict a legal right. To condense or shorten the whole of something, such as a book, and not merely a portion of it.
    Other applicable references:
Marbury v. Madison, 5 US 137: "The Constitution of these U.S. is the supreme law of the land. Any law that is repugnant to the constitution is null and void of law."
Murdock v Penn, 319 US 105 (1943): "No state shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it and attach a fee to it."
Shuttlesworth v. Birmingham, 373 US 262:(1962) "If the state converts a liberty into a privilege, the citizen can engage in the right with impunity."
Miranda v. Arizona, 384 US 436 (1966): "Where rights secured by the constitution are involved, there can be no rule making or legislation which would abrogate them."
Norton v Shelby County, 118 US 425 (1886): "An unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never passed."
Jones v. Counce 7-F3d-1359-8th cir 1993; Benitez v. Wolff 985-F3d 662 2nd Cir 1993: "Qualified immunity defense fails if public officer violates clearly established right because a reasonably competent official should know the law governing his conduct."
Owens v. Independence 100 S.C.T. 1398: "Officers of the court have no immunity, when violating a Constitutional right, from liability, for they are deemed to know the law."
Boyd v. US,116 US 616: "The court is to protect against any encroachment of constitutionally secured liberty."
Hertado v. California, 110 US 516: “The State cannot diminish the rights of the People.”
Sorry, but I personally don't have any respect for UNLAWFUL and CRIMINAL GOVERNMENT processes or agents.

we understand the laws and wish we did not have to go through all these obstacles but i rather pay a couple hundred dollars now to be "legal" in the states eyes then to have to pay thousands of dollars to fight a bogus charge. All we can do in CA is talk and educate people and get them to vote Red

I feel so sorry for the people of Commiefornia. Here in IN its all done online minus the fingerprinting. No firearms course required and a 5 yr permit is only $5. No having to register your guns and limitiations on carry except what is prescribed by law.

Isn't that crazy that you have to pay to protect your own life I know it's a crazy way of looking at it but it's true because you couldn't have a gun without that permit. The second amendment should be your gun permit.
