Hey Jesse, I’m about to join a platform as non exclusive artist (1 year contract; renewed annually) and they told me I get to keep 60% Royalties. But they never mentioned anything about publishing, writers shares, sync fees, etc….should I be concerned?? *It’s a royalty free music platform Would appreciate some advice🙏🏽
I agree with absolutely everything Jesse said... But... The only absolute, in my opinion, would be the need for a revision clause... Too often in life, and especially in business, things change... The people you are used to dealing with may move on... The library may not meet your expectations... The company may be sold or taken over by someone else... Or a myriad of other situations may arise... To have my music NOT stuck in a relationship, in perpetuity, is a must have for me... If the library works out, fine... But if things change, I want a parachute... Just saying...
Question for you Jesse...you may have already covered this but with all of the videos I have watched I haven't heard you talk about this. With all of these royalty free loops floating around does royalty free melodies/drums clear the producer in the sync licensing business?
Thank you 👌🏼 if i put a certain song on a music library, it is possible to put that same song on other music library too? Its a question that i got because im gonna be uploading my music with cd baby that already have a sync program, so i would like to know if its possible to put that same song on other music library for sync
Thank you for this smart explanation!
Jesse, you are certainly an intelligently and captivating person.

Glad you have a clear set of terms you're comfortable with!
Been seeing more and more of libraries taking writer’s share.

This video explains my thoughts on using loops: th-cam.com/video/t9rRuk4oQ9A/w-d-xo.html

Only if both companies are non-exclusive.
Over 2 minutes of ads for a segment under 5 minutes is out of proportion and has lost me from watching anymore.
Sorry bro - I didn't put the ads on my channel. TH-cam did. I don't make any money off the ads on my channel.
