I love doing these! One cue that helped me a lot (as i workout barefoot) was what I saw on Squat University's channel: Drive your toes and the whole foot in general into the ground when doing the squat movement. It stabilized my legs and made my weight travel path much more predictable and controlled.

Just picked up the Wildman adjustable Kettlebell at the showroom in Toronto. Thing is gorgeous. Now to begin the climb up! 💪🏻💣👊🏻

This is my new favorite exercise. I only have a 16kg and 20kg, so I alternate those for 6 sets of 7. This lit up my whole body. I don't just do squats anymore. I do clean &squats.

Mark, thoughts on high-rep, double-KB breathing squats? For me, doing them is a damn near religious experience, but dunno how I should think about them w/r/r progression & frequency.
Thanks for all the great content, by the way.

Good stuff as always, Mark. Would love to see a new Nerd Math video. Jonesing hard for a whiteboard, a few different colored markers, and perhaps a dog roaming while the math drops.

2nd this. Maybe general Wildman kettlebell, 1h club, and 2H club men's/woman's standards - minimum, intermediate, advanced.

@@MarkWildman how to switch from 5 sets of (5-...2-1) * 32 kg clean and press (something that I've heard you say is a good standard) to starting double KBs clean and press and then how to program it! That would be my selfish ask haha

      @@darknowitzki3535 limited appeal.
How about how to program intermittent training? I sometimes go through long periods of time spending all my time on sports and not actually training. Never really know how to program the stop start routine.

For clarity. I Surf and Kitesurf. When the weather conditions are on, that's what I do.
Training is so I can maintain a high level physical capability as I age.
I train to surf and if there's surf, there's very little training going on.

This is great, when I can't make it to the gym my "lower" workout is this: double KB front squats and double KB swings. Sometimes I also consolidate it even further and just do a clean and squat. It's brutal.

Hello Mark! Thank you for your video. One quick question please, could the double KB dead clean be the safer option for those who are yet to master the ballistics of the KB swing? Cheers!

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think so. But a lot of people have to perfect their clean rack position.
So most people get the metabolic benefits of kbs from
      Swings first.
      Then clean and press,

Hang out for 5-10 minutes at the bottom of a squat, with weight, while talking to someone… that would be the weirdest, most intimidating, psychological power
move. Just freak the b’Jesus out of people. Must give it a go in a meeting. Bit of a rear-seam Russian roulette though…

I already know I cannot properly double snatch enough weight with kettlebells to make the squat meaningful. I usually knee up the second weight when I do A double KB squat.

My follow up knee surgery (suture problem) was Thursday. This is one year after full bucket tear meniscus repair and acl implant. Best thing now? PT introduced me to KB and I found Pavel then Wildman + Clubs. PT says knees over toes is terrible. Don’t do it. Ortho surgeon says don’t squat too deep as I’ll put undue stress on meniscus. See the dilemma? Also Mark I would love to send you my nerd math whiteboard pic. TY for your excellent content.

The moment you say things like the goal is to have your knees behind your toes - we know you don’t actually know what you’re talking about. Know anything about biomechanics? Femur to tibia ratios? Everyone is better off listening to Squat University, Bret Contreras and the Barbell Physio.
