This book is just for me because I love coloring small and detailed drawings. I think big books with large empty areas are difficult to color. We do this coloring thing to calm ourselves and enjoy small accomplishments. I'm definitely buying this one!
Happy to see this new work! For me, it's just perfect because I don't always want to do whole pages. and when I take them again, I no longer use the same colors and it's frustrating. Thank you for this great idea!

As most of you do, I have all of Johanna's books and I pre-ordered this back in July!! I think I am going to love it and so excited to travel with this book. A little treasure this one.
This is what might help me with my current coloring block... Whenever I pick up a page right now, it overwhelms me. Been trying to finish a double spread in one of Kerby Rosanes' books and it's way too much for me for some reason, it's taking me months now. I can't even get myself to color in my favourite book - Ivy and the Inky Butterfly :(
Kerby's books can definitely be intimidating! It can seem like you'll never finish a page, let alone a double page spread! But if you keep doing it little by little, eventually you will get it done! I love to color very detailed and intricate pages so I'm used to it taking a while to finish a page or 2 page spread, but I just break it down into parts in my mind and do each part until I'm done. And I take breaks whenever I need to so I don't feel overwhelmed or pressured to get it done. Sometimes it takes me days to finish one part, but I just work on it as much as I can and as much as I feel like I can handle. I used to feel like I needed to get a certain amount done by a certain time and I started not enjoying my coloring. But now I just go at my own pace and don't put pressure on myself and I enjoy coloring much more. And I tell myself, even if I never finish this page that's totally fine! There are no rules except for the rules we make for ourselves, and sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves and need to loosen up on those rules! 😊❤
You are so right about the 'time express, so many of us (ME) put ourselves on. I got so disgusted with myself yesterday, when I was pressurizing myself to finish at least a small portion of a beautiful page in Rita Berman's 'Africa' book!! I finally put it down and said to myself 'Come back to this when you feel more relaxed!!' LOLOL! Lynn in NYC @@silvers_ink
I agree with @nicole_silvers! I stopped enjoying coloring because I was putting pressure on myself and timelines that weren't achievable. I was looking at social media too much and wanted to achieve what I saw others doing, especially how quickly they were able to get a page finished. I got to a point where I couldn't color at all for almost a year! I finally stopped watching so much social media and that helped me stop putting pressure on myself. Then I was able to color again and enjoy it! Sometimes I just get a hat colored or a few flowers~but I now enjoy it so much more! I hope some of this helps you. 😊

And ya know, social media can be helpful because sometimes I use it to get ideas and inspiration from looking at other people's finished pages, but if I do that too much, at some point it becomes self defeating because I can't think of my own ideas and I feel bad if I can't achieve something that I see others doing! So I think it can be helpful but you just don't want to do it too much! I get color palette ideas online too!
Guys, turns out I had an ADHD burnout and once I complained about it, it got easier to color now, idk why 😅 haven't colored in months as much as I did those past 2 days

Preordered it awhile ago…looks like a fun pick up and go book. I know I will get many hours of coloring enjoyment from it.
I have to wonder why it’s still not single sided. I really do not want to mess up an image because I don’t always want to use pencils.

I always use felt tips and never have bleeding, the paper is very good quality in my opinion. Tho don’t use alcohol based pens, those do bleed (long live the pen test page😅)

I wish I could buy the PDF versions and print them on watercolor paper on my laser printer feed through so I can enjoy trying various mediums. Then I can also print them out again if I mess it up. A PDF with reprint rights for personal use (non-commercial) use should be easy to create from her base drawings. Imagine how expanded the customer audience could be if we could choose our printing medium and have more flexibility with sizes….We could even print out some selections on poster board size printout - attach it to poster board for stability - and turn it into a family art project like a 1000 piexw jigsaw puzzle is shared by a family - everyone works on a section.
Great book Johanna. I waiting when you choose best of the pest pages all your books started Secret Garden and finish last book. Thats gonna be awesome. Really waiting that book Small Victories. I mean that you choose your favorite pictures from each book and put them together.

Just wondering if it also comes in a single sided print option? So i could use markers without worrying about bleed through?
Yes, I ruined a page on the other side accidentally by jumping in with alcohol markers! Dumb! LOL! Lynn in NYC
@@lhasalynn2091 yeah i did too. 😝 I prefer markers due to arthritis, less grip strength needed and more area gets done quicker but i can still colour in. I adore her books though and tried the markers without thinking…..
Ditto Arthritis ("Old Age"--are we having fun, yet??")! Considering how many Baby Boomers are discovering coloring, there should be a very healthy market for coloring books that are one-sided and good-quality paper for our painful hands and fingers!. (Have you tried "Color It? They have just the perfect books for markers. But I just remembered--they are in the USA only, I believe. ) Anyway! Happy coloring! Lynn in NYC@@carrie4910
That is when you just order two copies so you can have front and back pages to use markers for…, there is always a solution to the problem. 😊

I've read some bad reviews of Amazon paper in coloring books, so I'd like that clarified, please, if you know?

Because it isn’t single sided (boo) hopefully the paper is thick enough. I will purchase it as I have all her books.
What do you do with the colored pages when finished?
Leave them in the book. And if you photocopy the page and color it as a single page you keep it in a page protector in a binder. That is what I do…😊
