  • What a unique combination of cars to choose from: Ferraris and BMWs. Yet, Ide-san, from Iding Power, has chosen these two to tune and perfect. In this episode of Capturing Car Culture, Larry Chen finds himself in Japan, sitting across from Ide-san to discuss his life from being McLaren’s F1 tech in Asia to creating 10,000rpm naturally aspirated monsters. Tune in and find out Ide-san's secret to his tuning success.

      This video is so odd
Why do u 90% of the time point the camera on your friend talking and keep the owner out of view or in the corner
He's clearly not shy to be on camera
So why did u do this
I find this to be offensive tbh
This video is about the owner, not ur friend. Why not have ur friend stand near the owner and have him look at the owner and his translator a moment then the camera a moment
      Rinse repeat
That way the owner feels the enthusiasm and feels respected and feels talked to
Instead of feeling like a background charachter
      I respect u both alot
But this was a weird filmed video

I can't wrap my head around the fact Ide-san cast his own V12 engine modeled after the BMW unit in the McLaren F1. His own carbon fiber bumpers, hoods. His own wheel designs. Same shop for 50 years. Nissan came to him to look at the BMW M1 straight-6 for ideas for a motorsport engine. Fascinating to the point of shocking. I never heard of this man but he's my new favorite story.

He is so gangster the way he just hops in that Enzo and touches it off. That confidence only comes from a true master craftsman. Yes craftsman, not mechanic, because when you are designing components at this level you are a craftsman. Phenomenal video. Cool to see Larry and Dino on Hagerty. Ide san seems so down to earth - apparently very humble about his creations which by any tuning shops standards are at the very highest level. He's clearly a man who's been there, done it, got all the t-shirts and lead a fulfilling life. Whilst personally I'm in two minds as to customizing an Enzo, his work is very clearly at the highest level and is being done with purpose, not just whoring publicity on social media - fair play to him and thanks for the coverage guys. You don't know how much I loved it when it gets parked into the EV space. This is how CARS and TUNING should be rather than those boring EVs

So the RB26 was inspired by the BMW S38? That's so awesome. This guy is living my dream, Ferrari and older BMWs are my favorite cars ever. Seeing that e30 m3 and the awesome e36 just makes me realize this guy knows what's awesome. I'm a e36 fan and have a few of them as well as a 1978 308gts. I would be on cloud 9 in this shop.

This is the difference between the hagerty journalist and others
Teaching history and making it relatable and comfortable for public consumption

Why are you concerned about history being *"comfortable?"*

    • @thaphreak
      @thaphreak ปีที่แล้ว

@@Jay-jb2vr So you advocate for factual uncomfortable content is harshly worded with many latin words and/or direct word for word translations that have no contextual meaning included and a complete lack of understanding of the intended audience?
Please explain how that makes learning easier vs factual content that is relatable and comfortable to consume? We can wait.

You have to LOVE the Japanese
….their love for ALL things automotive…heck two wheels as well…
But it warms my heart when I see their attachment to Italian cars…Lamborghini has been reassessed in the last 20 years and recognized as something more than mere flash….But the place that Ferrari holds in Japanese car collecting will forever put a smile upon my face
