    G'day Dave,
    Kevin here from Australia.
    Certainly looks like you've done a nice job restoring this but i agree with your comment on paint stripper it's just not the same probably just made cheaper now.
    Anyway stay safe and healthy man.
    ✌ Peace

      Interesting to hear you have the same opinion on paint stripper over there! Here in the US I'm guessing some law passed saying it's toxic. Heck here in California I can't have Evaporust check the ingredients and tell me why...

    Nice little unit, and getting anything with the "M" word on it for that price is a good deal, lol

    Measuring at high precision has always interested You. Congrats. Christmas in the littlemachineshop I suppose.
    My comparisons are usually "fit" or "not fit".....

    Did you say you lapped the bottom of the tip flat? That will be why it changes depending on the direction you move. The bottom of that tip definitely needs to be curved. That will stop it lifting as it tilts slightly.

      Good point (no pun intended) I'll try a different tip...

      OMG changed the tip out to the ball type that it came with and you're absolutely right. I had zero error!! Thank You lesson learned...

    Hi Dave great video & Restoration work. My question is with vertical movement on the forward/backward movement, is that a bush problem or is that very minute casting wear ? . Still a good video

    • @TheMiniMachineShop
      @TheMiniMachineShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That indicator has very little use so no wear it's a bushing problem allowing the internal sensor to move.
