WOW, holy f@$k. This is the first time that performance of Being Alive brought tears to my eyes!!! Barrowman you sob, you are perfect...
not here, guy. bad costume, bad sound, bad arrangement, uneven singing, on his part. he has done it better w/an ensemble. try that one.
This production was so spectacular… Barrowman was stunning and Lynn Redgrave’s JoAnn was perfection!!!
One of the most beautifully written songs by Sondheim.

******** I would! It's a Gay thing, and I should know! (unless Barrowman thought he was appearing in "The Pirates of Penzance.") But this wasn't the place nor the role for it. Or wait, was it? Sondheim is Gay. Barrowman is Gay. And "Being Alive" never mentions a gender. Maybe that is why Bobby never found his "Someone." He wasn't looking for a Gay "Someone." But the late, great and straight Dean Jones will always be the quintessential best singer of "Being Alive." Just Saying... (And before all of the Barrowman, Esparza, Ramin and NPH fans start their vicious verbal attacks on me, that is my opinion. And you are entitled to yours. So back off!)********

He wore the undershirt for the Barcelona scene and then put on the jacket to continue the play.
I think I still prefer Raul Esparza's rendition, but this is a close tie for second with Dean Jones.

This song is really out of his vocal comfort zone, and the amount of strain John needed to sustain his notes was sometimes painful to see his face turn bright red towards the end, from pushing without an open throated sound. Also John was ACTING as opposed to setting up his moment before, being in the moment, and digging deeply into such intense words and feelings, which really make for mediocre theatre. Such a great song, sung by a talented performer who was in over his head. I like John in many things musically (especially his witty, sarcastic sense of humor), but this did not feel right when I watched it.
John barrowman has one of the best voices I've heard but this is easily the worst performance of bobby ever! The lack of emotion in this performance is depressing.
sorry but that's the weakest "what do you get?" I've ever heard, and the weakest performance I've heard of this song in general. I like him in other songs but this isn't his greatest moment
I think Jonesin44's performance is way better and not so fing gay... You should watch it, a lot better than this Bieber!
