Jonathan, you talk about the voices in you head. My dad was an old school mechanic. When he was out in the garage and talking as he was talking to someone and you asked who are you talking to he would say bud, bud. He would always talk his prodjects out loud. When you say we, the voices in your head reminds me so much of dad. He's been gone now since 92. Dont worry about the voices in your head, they will help you work out your prodjects. Keep pulling those wrenches. Peace.
Hi, Jonathan, I looked back and found this old Tracker Pulling video and see that you haven't changed much. You're not an engineer and you say you're not a machinist, so by the results you get from your labors, you MUST be a Magician. God Bless and stay safe.
I went to an antique tractor pull once in 1974 in central Wisconsin. I remember at the end they hooked up an old steam tractor (looked like a regular locomotive) to the sled for the heck of it. It buried the sled and just kept going ...never slowed down. The sled must have been 3 ft under ground. Massive Massive toque.
A 150 hp Case road locomotive made 4000 foot pounds of torque. The thing about a steam engine is no torque curve, has 4000 foot pounds at 1 rpm or 300 rpm's.
Thanks Jonathan for sharing How you used to build this Tractor's for Pulling. Quite a lot of things you did to make them Pull. This is one thing I was never around, other than watch'n them.
Man I would love to see you get the tractor back together. My uncles before they passed did tractor pulling with big cube garden tractors. I forget the class but they ran alcohol and made 75hp on the dyno from old Kohler blocks. And they would use Dodge Dart rear ends and vw clutches. After they passed sadly the tractors got sold off to pay they bills. But it was loads of fun to watch.
Found this very interesting Jonathan. Basic tuning but... In the 70s Carl came up with overboring an 1100 BMC A series. Ended up putting Hillman Imp pistons in. But a few blocks broke through between 1or 2, 3 or 4. We used a Van Norman boring bar, so I came up with the idea to move it. Outer ones outer, inner ones inner. Just put a dial gauge on it and physically moved it, pushing it back with the centering palls. Line of cylinder bores suffered a little, but never lost a block.
wow! you went from 259 c.u. up to 380 c.u.! that is impressive. look at that stroke. very cool jonathan. i bet a movie about your life and all you have done would be very interesting.
Jonathan, I am constantly amazed and educated with the work you do, and the work ethic you have. Watching you inspires me to get off my old arse and work on various projects I’ve ignored for too long! Keep up the good work my friend.
Another great video Jonathan It must be really noisy inside your head with so many different and varied projects on the go or on the back burner! I thought I used to ricochet from one project to another as the mood took me but I doff my cap to your emminence. Keep your videos coming ALWAYS learn something new Cheers mate!
But u make my mind work hard and love the old cars u work on and ur fab work truly amazing would have loved to have had the 55. Truck keep the video s coming love it
Jonathan I found your video's and iam hooked the 55 chav truck was amazing Ive been thinking about something like that for years have a friend took a air cooled engine out of a big ditch witch construction trencher we put.it in straight axle ford we never.got trans to work right and I didn't ever think.was big enough C I D
God Bless you Jonathan, you are one smart cookie, I have a set of Ford Model T cast iron pistons & rods, do you have a use for them? If so I can ship them to you...I don't want anything for them....
I'm an advide Case collector and have a couple Case C's myself. Would love to learn more about your experience builting Case C engines. I'm looking to build a Case C puller myself and sounds like your experience in this would be a great asset and very helpful to get me started.
Jonathan, when do we get a update on the 4X4 Wrecker. If we don't, I may have to send the Polish Mafia to convince you to do a video on it! Regards, Yankee Peddler
Did you take leasons from SMOKEY Yunick ? ,,, HE proved time and again long stroke = more torque = WINS,,, course he was a race guy from 50s and 60s and 70s
wow you have a lot different rules then we have. we have to use all stock parts outside. no headers or intake. stock block and manifolds, everything outside has to have that brand of part number on it. inside you can run whatever you want.
WOW!!! That stroke is "obscene"!! ;o) So many questions. Any idea what kind of HP you're making?? What RPM do you run it at when you're pulling?? What do you think the compression ratio ends up being?? That thing must really wind the tractor around the back wheels when the sled stops with all the torque it has to be making!! Very interesting!! ;o)
Can you run unleaded gas with the titanium valves, as apposed to installing the hardened seats? I've got a 7:1 compression Land Rover series 2, and it'd be awesome if I could do that.
Brother ... you are a brilliant genius ! where did you learn this ? I'm a decent wrench ... but man fab is such an art ! I would love to be your student . thanks for showing me what is possible . love your videos . Eric from Detroit .
Johnathan do you live in the Moore county area?? and if you do can you email me _life_ changes_ because my uncle has some old cars that he might sale if your interested and I'm living in Carthage and I find you as a great youtuber and kinda a inspiration

427 piston , 466 sleeve ? How you ever came up with this combo , is a testament to your mechanical skill and knowledge . Big thumbs up!!!
Just what worked out to be the size I needed.
Jonathon, you are one smart cookie. I learn some thing from each video! Jeff Iowa

Smart.
Now that's impressive. 12" stroke . That engine must run at a lower rpm! That's definitely a lugger for sure. Love it
12 inch rod - it's bin stroked 1 inch (6.5) stroke
wow! you went from 259 c.u. up to 380 c.u.! that is impressive. look at that stroke. very cool jonathan. i bet a movie about your life and all you have done would be very interesting.
Jonathan you are amazing, I love your videos, thanks you
That there is some really cool stuff 👌. You Sr. are a very smart fella 😉. 🤘
Jonathan, I am constantly amazed and educated with the work you do, and the work ethic you have. Watching you inspires me to get off my old arse and work on various projects I’ve ignored for too long! Keep up the good work my friend.
My friends class could only use factory built ,single barrel up draft carbs. He found one off of a airplane, had a 4" throat .
Interesting stuff with this one Jonathan. Thanks.
Very nice work on that old intake/exhaust!

Keble and bits. I love it. So this is what you where digesting everyday. How to make a relativity safe bomb for tractor pulling.
This is aweome !! What you can do with an old engine!! Enjoyed the explanation!!! Gary
But u make my mind work hard and love the old cars u work on and ur fab work truly amazing would have loved to have had the 55. Truck keep the video s coming love it
nice job Jonathan
Pretty neat stuff. Tractors are fun, big or small.

"The voices in my head." They often give EXPERT advice! ^_^
It would be cool to see you pulling as one of your videos.
God Bless you Jonathan, you are one smart cookie, I have a set of Ford Model T cast iron pistons & rods, do you have a use for them? If so I can ship them to you...I don't want anything for them....
Wow I want to see that one run. Make sure you make a video if it pulling.
Seems like you'd have more fun saving old cars and making money that way than towing on the call ... Plus you're damn good at it 👍
I'm an advide Case collector and have a couple Case C's myself. Would love to learn more about your experience builting Case C engines. I'm looking to build a Case C puller myself and sounds like your experience in this would be a great asset and very helpful to get me started.
I always was wondering about the WE at your shop :) we love your videos at my place 👍FINS UP 👍
Would love to see pictures and maybe video of the tractor and tractor pulls
Love to aee u get this engine running!!
Great video!
Jonathan, when do we get a update on the 4X4 Wrecker. If we don't, I may have to send the Polish Mafia to convince you to do a video on it! Regards, Yankee Peddler
How about some videos of your tractor pulls (?)
Skip
Did you take leasons from SMOKEY Yunick ? ,,, HE proved time and again long stroke = more torque = WINS,,, course he was a race guy from 50s and 60s and 70s
Are you ever planning on getting it back together and running ? I think it would be pretty damn sweet to see , be another great video for sure !!!
One day I hope.
Good luck my friend. But someday never comes.
Wow,
Now that is really great stuff ! Where did you learn all the information to basically learn how to make an engine ? Great stuff there !
that bought a big smile to my lips !!! ;-)))
too bad about the camshaft lobes...anyway you can alter the pivot point on the rocker arms?
wow you have a lot different rules then we have. we have to use all stock parts outside. no headers or intake. stock block and manifolds, everything outside has to have that brand of part number on it. inside you can run whatever you want.
We do also in Stock class, but I ran a 12 mph super class.
Jonathan W we have a modified antique but it still has to have a stock part number on it. and it's limited mph, most are 1st gear only
we had problems breaking the block above the rear main bearing ,perhaps you may want to rig up a cap girdle of some type !
I have an old SC CASE I'm building and would like some tips and just to know what I can do with boring and stroking the engine
WOW!!! That stroke is "obscene"!! ;o)
So many questions. Any idea what kind of HP you're making?? What RPM do you run it at when you're pulling?? What do you think the compression ratio ends up being?? Hi Jonathan, do you ever get up to the Thresher's Reunion in Denton? Lots of interesting old stuff there.
Yep, I use to spend all 5 days there when I was a magazine editor.
Can you run unleaded gas with the titanium valves, as apposed to installing the hardened seats? I've got a 7:1 compression Land Rover series 2, and it'd be awesome if I could do that.
So this is being run more like a car engine than a tractor engine...
I've machined titanium before; you said there were flames?
It looked like the insert was a welding lead and when the chips came off it was fire flying.
Brother ... you are a brilliant genius ! where did you learn this ? I'm a decent wrench ... but man fab is such an art ! I would love to be your student . thanks for showing me what is possible . love your videos . Eric from Detroit .
I want to see someone build an SC CASE engine, bored and stroked to the max!!!
Ok you gotta run same type of carb, can you add a second carb ?
Nope, against the rules.
Do you have any video of you pulling? I'd love to see it.
Little more context could go along way to your sentence 🤭
Is the model Case with the roller chain final drive ?
Yes
8 inch or 6.5 inch stroke?? Wich is it
Well hello!
Wow
WOW !!!!
We are amused
You may be amused, I'm in awe.
Johnathan do you live in the Moore county area?? and if you do can you email me _life_ changes_ because my uncle has some old cars that he might sale if your interested and I'm living in Carthage and I find you as a great youtuber and kinda a inspiration
I live on the Moore/Harnett Line. I am always interested in buying.
Jonathan W that's why the roads in your videos look so familiar to me
Is that at Gmail?
