I’m glad you enjoyed the video, they are really nice pencils to work with, allow yourself some time to get used to them if you are not familiar with watercolour pencils but I’m sure you will enjoy the lovely colours 🤞
It's lovely, I'd leave it just as it is. That paper really is great, I may try to figure out who the publisher is and see if they have any other books. People are not my jam, beautiful though they are.
Stunning love it as it is… I have learnt so much from watching your videos… I just need to be brave and have a go at watercolours, I do have this book untouched for a couple of years now and would like to have a go at what you did, but don’t have all the colours you used in the watercolour pencils from that set… would inktense work the same on that paper and give the same effect? 😊
Inktense are similar when used very diluted but not as easy to get the watercolour effects on this paper. I might try them on camera next time I colour in this book 👍
It's very difficult to look at a brush and determine if it's actually sable vs other type of hair, but you can often look at it and determine if it's natural hair. Natural hair strands are varying thickness. The mid strand is thicker and the tip has a natural point at the end of the hair. Synthetic fibers are all the same width. Some are "shaved" at the end, but if you look very close you can see that, it's kind of "shredded". Some natural hair brushes of poor quality are trimmed at the end to form the point of the brush, removing the natural tips. The better brushes are not, the hairs are placed into the ferrule in a staggered formation to form the point. This is one way to determine quality. Creating good brushes is an art, which is one of the reasons they are so expensive. There are pros and cons to natural hair vs synthetic.. happy to go into that if anyone is interested. Do be aware that animals are not being killed just to make a brush, there isn't a single natural hair brush that is derived from animals for only that purpose, they are a side product of other harvesting purposes. Even kolinsky, which is a type of mink, is primarily harvested for their oil, which has a ton of industrial and commercial uses. The meat is used both for human consumption and in the fishing industry. Of course if you want to avoid animal product as a whole that is a personal decision.
There is such a wide range of brushes….and some very good synthetic ones these days. Cared for properly they are a good investment if you paint a lot, which makes the price more economical in the long run.
I very much enjoyed spending my morning journaling time with you. Very relaxing to listen to you talk about your page and look up to see your progression. Lovely image! I only have black ink as well for my tattoos. 🩷

Where did you order that book from? Was it Temu ? Beautiful coloring 😊😊
I think I got them through Ali Express.
