My dude. This was so so useful. I got the same machine off ebay for next to nothing brand new because some discount shop listed it as "spares or repairs, only one of the drill bit spins". Obviously ones a guide and doesn't spin. Ordered house key blanks and yup, needed those Aliexpress vertical holders which I found out about from your video. Got those and finally tried to cut it, drill bit was barely doing anything. Then I rechecked your video and saw I was using the wrong bit. Changed over, first key failed, second key cut was a success! Appreciate this video, just wondered if you could recommend any other higher quality milling bits that fit the machine? i've read online the ones supplies are cheap and don't last long. Thanks again mate!
Glad I could help! Im still using the original bits that my machine came with from Aliexpress and they've cut roughly 30 keys. As long as you cut slow and steady, taking only small amounts of material off at a time, you should be good. I did buy a second set of mill bits off Aliexpress just in case the other ones break but I havent had to use them yet.
@@djbmw1 Perfect, yep slow and steady is definitely the way. I'll keep an eye on the cutting blade and see if I need more but 30+ keys is way a head of my plans short term. Thanks again man.
Hi mate, You have got the one exactly i was thinking. As I have the vertical key cutter, i wonder if i could use it for cutting other car key style than laser key blade. Have you had any success with cutting car key like Mazda, toyota blade? Cheers
Thanks for the comment! The machine has done well on BMW keys, Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, and a bunch of residential and commercial building door lock keys. Since its manual you can pretty much cut most key types as long as you have the correct key hold down/clamp and figure out how the cut should go before hand.
@@vudfla i actually have only used the smallest milling bit for every key i have cut so that it gets as much detail as possible. I just go nice and slow so that i dont risk breaking the bit.

I was getting ready to cut my first key and realized there was really no way to square the original since it is cut on both sides. I could probably clamp it on edge and eye ball it but I'd rather wait until I get these clamps. Thanks Again.
Hello friend, you know how to regulate the force that made the guide on the key? I feel like I need to push down to much on the guide to make the miller start cutting, damading the "original key" im talking on regata key(car key)
You can set the height of the guide and milling bit like i showed in the video. Loosen both the follower and the milling bit, hover the follower over a spot on the original key that is uncut and lower the plunge arm 1/3rd of the way down. Either hold that position of use the side screw to lock the arm in place. Now lock the follower and mill bit. One the bits are locked you can release the lock nut on the plunge arm.
They can be found on most vendors platforms. Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist, Aliexpress, Kijiji, and hundreds of independant websites. Aliexpress tends to have some of the lowest prices, however, as many of the sellers ship from the same region where the machines are made. I feel this would be a better way of cutting Honda keys as well gets it up where you can work on it and holds the both identical

What size of drill sir 1mm or 1.2mm?
I personally use the smallest miling bit possible so that I get the most acuracy.
