How to Work Jerkbaits/ Glidebaits for Pike

- I've had a few people asking me for some tips on fishing with jerkbaits for pike so I thought I'd throw this little video together giving my 2 cents on the topic. I am by no means a expert on this but hopefully I can help some of you guys out!

Yep - same - there's always something to see / learn from watching someone else doing different things. Do what you've always done, get what you've always got. I try really hard to mix things up but just keeping going back to what I like to do (my favourite 5) and wonder why I blank as often as I do. Watching other people's different techniques is reassuring and informative in equal measure - cheers.
New stickers on your rod. It’s all happening. Got the big westin swim. Top lure. A vid with big lures and slow fished with the colder months would be good dan. Cheers 👍🏻🤓
Good varied retrieves & lures keep them coming as I say you learn something new everyday when your out fishing 🎣🙂

Cheers Dan some nice advice and tips ,mate of mine kicked my butt on are canal with a Westin swim in the hot sardine colour depths of winter on a slow twitchy retrieve so I rate them very highly, good luck with the next

Fkin love your instruction videos. Very much needed for a newbie pike fisher struggling with getting the jerk action right. Went back to my spinning combo, didnt really get along with my baitcaster rod so will give it a go next year. I find keeping the line tight is the hard part, but im getting better. The Svartzonker is named Ticsaren, ie one with tics, like a meth head, jerky and jumpy, in Swedish.
great video in winter jerkbaits are even better because you can fish the bait longer over a spot

Just started use jerkbait. But not on jerkbait rod, i just use my W4. Its fun. Swimbait or lazy jerk is easier tho. But more jerkbait to choose from.

in winter jerkbaits are even better because you can fish the bait longer over a spot
I am not Dan but when its realy cold water its good to take loooooong pausa. Works for me up till the lake freaze.

how much thick of a line you use? i have 0.25 and 0.30 which one should be better to jerk bait action? i live in sweden in jönköping do you know any good lakes or canals around here mate?
I got the westin swim and the savage gear 3d roach, but the 3d doesn't work for shitzels. if you move it too fast it flips on its head if you move it too slow it doesn't do anything

And a few follow never caught a pike with them 🙈🙈😅
Have you painted your rod again?
Jerkbaits for pike, jigs for zander and perch is a way to go. Spinners/shads/spoons etc are boring because of steady retrieve and you can't really change their swimming action with your rod movement, atleast not the same way as jerks and jigs.

I think you'd be better off calling them lipless baits instead of jerkbaits.
Great video! But these are not jerkbaits. They are crankbaits. If you want to twitch, it's better to take proper jerkbaits in my opinion.
