    Only issue i have if fully extended you can't see if you are recording or not would be handy to have a indicator light on the handle to show if recording

    Great review. Thank you!
    I've used the "Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360" camera since it came out some 5 years ago. Takes absolutely crisp 360 photos to this day.
    The Mi Sphere selfie stick has an ON/OFF & Shutter-release button built in and is very compact in design , fits in your pocket and can extend quite long. It has several contact points on its head that communicate directly with the contact points at the bottom of the camera. A super smart intelligent design requiring no wires, no bluetooth , no drain on the camera battery. If Insta 360 copied this Xiaomi Stick design using contact points instead of a USB-C Cable, it'll blow the competition out of the water as the Insta 360 will still be waterproof when used with it's Insta powered stick.

    About charging the camera I should give you an idea. You could cover when you are charging the camera with Blu-Tack and not a drop of water will go in. I have use it many times with a Garmin Virb ultra 30 when I’m travelling on the motorbike at the same time that you’re recording, and without changing a single battery in a day

    You can get the"ULANZI Hummingbird quick release", so taking it in and out of the bag isn't done in one assembled piece.
    I think I am just going to use a power bank and run up the wire if I want to shoot for an extended period of time.

    I've picked one up myself this weekend. It's well made, rather heavy if you need to hold it for a longer time. One thing to notice though it that there is no longer the possibility in 2024 to attach a tripod to the bottom as with previous models.

    • @ttl_channel

      Others reported the same. I'm guessing they had some issues with the mount breaking, but this is a big omission!

    I am very frustrated as i just received my powered selfie stick. The two aspects of this that were important to me were the battery and the threaded bottom. I use this to document my processes at work and wanted to mount it onto a clamp mount. I have just learned that the new model doesnt have the thread on the bottom so now i have to go seek out a totally different mounting hardware.

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t believe they removed the tripod mount - it’s a critical feature in my opinion.

    • @JohnRiley1966
      @JohnRiley1966 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now I’m scrambling to work out how to mount this thing. I’m not doing g anything fancy or complicated - stationary and likely just straight vertical.

    Is the charging passthrough in the sense that you can connect a powerbank to the stick and charge both the stick and the camera?
    I assume the chargeport on the stick does not forward the data-connection to the camera?
    The d-ring is a good idea for security etc. Thanks!
    For the price I think this is the stick to go for. Maybe insert another stick in the bottom for longer reach?
    Thanks for pointing out the cable connection is a good thing due to the two benifits, loving it.
    Battery test is great. I assume the stick is keeping the internal battery charged while emptying itself for 160 minutes?
    Mine is coming later this week and this video made me extra sure I bought the right set.
    I ordered both the standard stick as the powered stick. Should give me like three options : use one, use the other, use both, depending on situation and need.

    Nice review. But when I heard "Power Selfie Stick" I was hoping to see Insta360 release some sort of powered extension/retraction feature. Something you can mount on a bike, extend mid-ride, make a short video and retract immediately without having to stop.

      I guess it depends how good a skier you are! If you were to wipe out, it wouldn't be pretty with the power selfie stick attached, but as long as you stay upright (and are not skiing through a blizzard) it should be fine.

  • @vaughnbay
    @vaughnbay ปีที่แล้ว

    8:23 "...let's see what happens...." What happens is the camera will operate continuously until the selfie stick battery is fully discharged, then the camera will stop. At that point the internal camera battery will not show use or discharge. In other words this selfie stick does NOT add to the cameras' CONTINUOUS internal battery run time; it substitutes the selfie sticks' battery IN PLACE OF the internal camera battery. In fact you can remove the camera's internal battery and get the same CONTINUOUS run time. The total continuous run time can be extended by adding additional batteries to the charge port of the selfie stick, however when operating the camera from any source of external power the camera will not use power from the internal battery. It would have been nice to know that from this review, but better yet it would be nicer if the camera would consume all available power without operator intervension. In other words consume both batteries without stopping.

    Buyers beware!
    The Power selfie stick in the Insta360 Accessory Shop as well as on Amazon does NOT! have the 1/4 inch screw adapter at the bottom anymore. This reduces the versatility of the stick even further IMO. A major minus point for me.

    • @klausbreddemann4543
      @klausbreddemann4543 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ttl_channel I believe the screw adapter at the bottom must have broken off due to its weak design when some users attached another selfie (extension) stick to it. Rather than reinforcing the bottom part of the stick, they removed the 1/4 inch female adaptor altogether and turned this otherwise useful stick into just another half-as*ed design. Being able to attach just a small tripod to the bottom would have made the power stick an ideal option for shooting lengthy time-lapse videos and taking advantage of the stick's battery.
